You know you can buy a PS3 copy of the game for like 3-4 quid and upgrade for free right?
-
Given the cost of the Nexus 10, you could just buy an iPad Air for that price. If you want to spend less than the £330 or so the iPad costs then you've got to scale back a bit. If they're not going to be doing anything particularly intensive then a Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 inch is about £100 cheaper than the Nexus 10/iPad (on Amazon). Although that's a bit outdated now, you'd probably be better off getting this 10 inch Nokia Lumia tablet for £250 off John Lewis instead. Worse screen but better processor than the Nexus 10 (which is a bit out of date now). The Windows RT OS also strikes me as the kind of thing very user friendly to the tablet novice, too.

Unfortunately not. Best bet is a PS3 which can download most PS1 as well as HD remakes of PS2 games. Sony are meant to be doing their Now service to stream games, but that's gonna be shitty in the UK for a while I think (at least with my current broadband speeds).
-
Yeah you can suspend if. Think it might be 7 quid, not sure as I haven't paid yet (collectors and regular edition trial codes stack and they were each cheaper than 1 month subscriptions so I bought the game again). I really like some of the updates they've added. Now you can buy your own room within your guildhouse and decorate it, as well as keep and train your chocobo in the house's stables to boost its exp. I love the FF themed decorations in the houses: Oh and the Gold Saucer is coming to the game too. :p

I love having a sniper rifle. Even if it's not as versatile, there's nothing like pulling headshots.

In precisely 30 days I finished the 'main' questline. I say main, it carries on going after you defeat the main boss as more content has been added. At 10 hours a week you can get pretty far, probably not that far though. But it is very good for an MMORPG. The main problem I had with GW2 was that it was a very single player oriented experience (most exp coming from solo heartquests and the like). FFXIV has a lot of solo stuff but lots of multiplayer dungeons you need to do (and to get loot) along with cool bosses that stop the game from getting boring. Much better animated cutscenes too, pretty good production values.
-
Or FFXIV. You can pick up the game first month for less than four quid for PS3/PS4. :p Plus I play... GW2 was fun (maxed ranger) but this game is much more fleshed out and has better production values.

No I went to Sale Grammar. Just a few stops on the metro.

Well I left when I left my family home. :p about 4 years ago I'd say. Still go back from time to time, but down in London now.

Ooh Altrincham. That's where I'm from.

The new anime and manga thread! [Use Spoiler Tags!]
Sheikah replied to Shorty's topic in General Chit Chat
Berserk is brilliant, I'd recommend that. Then read the manga. :p -
You still need a keyboard to type to people, but the controller works really well for FFXIV. Shortcuts are handled by holding L2 or R2 followed by pressing the corresponding buttons. I really hate using a mouse because I game on the couch.
-
FFXIV is arguably one of the few (only?) MMORPGs that has been properly optimised to work with controller, such that the advantage gap is bridged between mouse and controller. I heartily recommend it!

If it's of interest to you and @Blade, I saw that ASDA direct are doing the white PS4 with destiny combo and if you apply the code 'CONSOLE' you get it for £359.

Copy paste: Limited edition SteelBook case and game disc Includes "Arms and Armaments" Field Guide, detailing weapons and armour Contains postcards from the Golden Age and antique star chart collector's items Includes the Destiny Expansion Pass (future DLC expansions included) Exclusive in-game emblem, ship and ghost skin I got £15 off the normal price on Tesco Direct with the code TDXR-PYRT (might need to make a new account as it comes up with an error message for some people).
-
Limited edition for £65.
-
Weird it works for some, I just tried it now and it worked for me. Maybe worth trying a new account? Delivery is pretty good. I've pre-ordered maybe 4 or so games from them in the past, they're usually the day before or on the day delivery. Royal Mail too. They've also got a notice by pre-orders saying "order for delivery on day of launch". There's some other discount codes that don't give you as much off, but could still save you up to £15 compared to the store: £10 off £50: TDX-KYNK (register a new account for this one) £5 off £25: TDX-FTRG
-
To @Daft also...Tesco Direct are selling the physical version for £80, and there's a £15 off £75 coupon (TDXR-PYRT) making it effectively £65. Some people say the coupon doesn't work on their account and some say it does though.

I put this link before, but they're £68.68 here. The cheapest they have ever been is £60 at GameStop, and they ran out of stock almost immediately and never seem to stock it anymore. Seems a good deal considering you're only going to get them at most £8.50 cheaper (if at all) by waiting.
-
You pay around £30 for a 365 day PS Plus subscription (RRP is 40 but there's usually somewhere selling them for cheaper), and you get: - 2 new games per system (PS4/PS3/Vita) to download per month - discounts on other stuff - automatic cloud backup of saves - online play (PS4) - automatic patching (I think it's PS Plus only...)
-
No such thing. I've thought the same before, but it's never guaranteed. Good ideas don't always lead to the most amazing games.
-
"Looks beautiful, but they've not shown off any real gameplay yet..." Neither have they for some of the games you're commenting about for X1. :p

I'd also like to say, I have a very big problem with this sentence as this is the kind of assertion I've seen spoken by Nintendo fans before. The idea that the type of output is limited in that it is only likely to appeal to certain kinds of people just isn't true. There really isn't a 'typical' multiplatform game. Even if one type of game (e.g. FPS) appears more frequently, the games on other consoles cover just about the entire spectrum of gaming. If someone were to say nothing on it interested them, I'd have to question whether they were actually interested in gaming. Be it RPG, adventure, strategy, sandbox, platformer, puzzle, FPS, third person shooter, racer, quiz, sports, survival horror, dungeon crawler, MMORPG, beat 'em up, stealth, crossovers (e.g. Destiny), indie or otherwise difficult to assign a genre to, it has everything. Not just that, but it will have so many more games of those genres over time, too.

You can watch all the hands on play you want, but until you've played it people are gonna rightly call you out for writing it off. Some games look fun but play garbage after a few hours, and some games get more and more fun as you go on. I would also like to say that this point generally highlights the weaknesses in your strategy. When I played ACIII, I hated it. It bored me the world over and I gave up on it. I played ACIV and it was awesome. Still the same kind of mechanics, but with much better environments and the boat stuff. If I said ACIV wasn't worth playing because of the previous game, I'd not only be put in my place on here but I'd miss out on a truly great game.
-
Well you said none that are worth playing, which I found a somewhat amusing sentence since you generally have to play something (or witness shocking reviews, which isn't the case here) to truly know if it's worth playing.
