Is the sale all through January? Thinking about trying to get some PSN credit with my nectar points before the 31st, but don't know what I want yet! Is Journey on sale? Could def do with picking that up - was spying a few smaller games on there earlier in the week that were reduced too, contemplating them despite already having on PC just for ease of playing via the PS4.

I'm not a fan of the grind if it's really too much of a grind - FFX being one of the major turn-based JRPGs I gave a lot of time to; I did have to do some notable bits of grinding at times to try and get by easier(maybe I was just a bit basic though). Xenoblade Chronicles had a very small grind imo, in that if you got to a point where you kept failing it still gave you XP where a lot of other games would not unless I'm mistaken. Could be argued I'm in the 'grind' in Destiny, though I'm enjoying my gameplay whilst doing it so is it a grind, or no? It does remind me(also HoT's post) though about an article I once read about playing games on harder difficulties and the punishment you might put yourself in for when you really don't need to - if you're interested in the content why not go easy then do another difficulty run if it was good enough to make you want to play again? I related it to HoT cos he said about grinding up to a point where he can just tear through the game for a bit after, and I thought seeing that why not just go for an easier difficulty if the options there? It's moving the topic away from its original idea though.

You or your brother might be timelords or something @nekunando, because we barely had a Gamecube in 2002, let alone a Wii or Wii U! :p
-
It's one of those games where I just don't understand why I like playing it so much. I don't even play hard mode because I get so damn attached to my worlds(keep contemplating but never take the plunge, may well do so on my PS4 world as it's old of sorts now with the update). Would you be playing on PC or console? If I had a decent/regular PC+wireless setup I'd probs play that rather than the PS4 - but the PS4 has the ease of just being there, though it is about 18+ months behind any of the PC content, and even then some PC content is there that isn't on console from what I understand.

Oops, my bad! Only read a few of the posts on the page! I don't feel so bad not being a big Star Wars fan this time round though, almost as if all the hype and presence of the new film is enough to satiate people from losing their shit flipping out at me for not being all that fussed. I don't hate it at all btw, but I almost feel like people would usually react as if I do!

So, I saw this last night - and I think I probably liked/enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I should add I've never been big on Star Wars, and only really properly saw them all the year that Episode III came out - by which time I think the ground they originally broke had been re-trodden by so many other pieces of media that I wasn't as blown away as people may originally have been. I think I am somewhat looking forward to the next one though. On the whole, I found it enjoyable - I preferred certain characters over others, found some spots mildly irksome, but yeah...it seemed good! I did however just read this article, and I think I may kinda identify with it somewhat(obvs total spoilers warning for it); Star Wars The Force Awakens Is the Least Interesting Star Wars Yet?
-
Have they ever re-jigged the spawn of enemies on the planets though? I've never noticed such in the months I've been playing. It's literally like Cabal everywhere you'd be finding Hive from the bit you land, even through to the Masoleum(there's still Hive, just a lot less...annoying when you're going Hive Hunting :p!). Seemed strange to me, and wasn't just because of one of those enemy moving against the other dealies. I don't like dealing with change!
-
Anyone patrolled dreadnaught today? Seems to be much more cabal and less Hive, getting me wondering if it could be related to anything?
-
3 different people seemed to think this morning I said I'd go to see Star Wars this evening, which I have absolutely no re-collection of at all, so sadly I cannot join you guys for any Destinying fun If you do happen to find yourself short for a HM raid in future do give me a shout though, I'm sometimes about or can re-work stuff! In other Destiny things though - I've been considering my light level. So far every exotic engram I've gotten has rolled out at 310, and I just got another Bad Juju at 310 so I levelled and scrapped it(then realised how to actually easily get exotic shards for glimmer) - but I'm wondering now that I know the latter, should I stick my 310 exotics into legendries to up my light level, seeing as I don't need them quite so much for shards? Not that I can actually do much with said shards atm anyway, given I'm rolling out 310s anyway. Or would I be better off running the raid weekly for higher legendary gear drops(especially with challenges) if I can?

I was recently excited when they added Chromecast support for All 4 - but it's got terrible compatibility with my devices for reasons I don't know(poss due to rooting and custom ROMs). I've just resigned myself back to using my PS3s instead which I've still got hooked up, but it's good that they've finally brought the app to PS4. I wondered if there was some sort of limited deal with Roku(or some other box brand) for the app, as it seemed to basically not be coming to any new platform but their devices. Has it had/getting any support on XBone out of interest? Seems to be very popular so wondered why people weren't working harder to get it on their platforms, the wealth of content is pretty diverse and I think it includes a lot that would sit well with a general gaming population.
-
Aww, and I postponed the rest of my nap and everything!
-
Tbh may be good for me to get the first part of the raid down by running repeated. Should really get back to bringing up my warlock at some point so I can use that for things like this!
-
I'm still rusty on the raid and have never done HM but I can give it a crack with my titan(only 305 light tho) if you guys really need. How much harder is hard mode?
-
Fired this up the other day for I can't recall why(think I just didn't feel up to playing anything else) and it seems that the console version got an update last week! Not sure all the changes, apparently equivalent to one of the PC versions, but they now have palm trees on the beach and the Angler NPC+fishing. Makes me happy knowing they're still supporting the game and there's still a wealth of content to come(PC's major update work coming is around wiring and mechanics, and the consoles I presume will continually be updated to bring to par of PC versions, albeit on significant delay). EDIT: Apparently equivalent to this 1.2.4 PC update http://terraria.gamepedia.com/1.2.4 -(not sure it's 100% like for like though)

Its a dlc code/scratch off card thingy. TTK stuff is exclusively download from what I understand. Thanks @DriftKaiser and @Eddage - we just gave Fears Embrace a quick run through and got it done! I'm still absolutely happy to help out with anyone else who needs to so it though, just give me a shout here or on PSN, likely home most of tomorrow. EDIT: ahhh yisss! Just picked up an exotic engram I somehow missed from the postmaster...rolled out as another 310 machine gun - super good advice?? I really meant to be scrapping these for shards to upgrade others but at this rate I'm gonna end up with quite a collection...
-
Hard Light looks interesting - is it worth me buying with my coins tho? Especially as I've got bad juju and telesto now? Wondering if I should just wait for engrams from 3oC instead now. Also @Eddage you wanna do the mission sometime tmw? Saw you on now but my head just ain't really in it atm. Let me know when you're good to do it and I'll see who'll make our third?

You mean to say Nintendo are so out of touch its as if they have very little to do even with the apps coming to their own system/platform!? I know that some criticise them, but that's pretty damn cold @Serebii!
-
I hoped most people had realised that - even when it happened it was clear it was being bought/used solely for the 'brand' of the name. It's just the fact that barely anyone talks about Napster anymore, for that very reason pretty much, that it's hilarious to see Nintendo partner up with them because the real use of the word Napster brings back the memories of old and outdated times. Not that anyone would ever say similar of Nintendo of course...
-
I think it can be contextual really - and whether you have something else to compare it to. I was far more tolerable when I only had a WiiU, though I still grew tired of Splatoon's decisions when getting together with folks here for private matches/squads - a one player imbalance was a really good definition of the word itself - and that was something I honestly just couldn't tolerate too much, let alone the other criticisms often levelled. Splatoon is a fantastic concept and idea though, and it's so absolutely Nintendo - but I think it's so absolutely Nintendo that some of their general decisions have contributed to it still not living up to its full potential(it does utilise a lot of it, though).

Ok, does anyone other than myself and Eddage need to tackle the 'Fear's Embrace' mission within the time limit for the SRL/Amanda Holliday quest line? I think with 2-3 of us we could easily do it, but ofc it makes sense to get 3 of us who need it at the same time if possible. I know it was an absolute arse of a mission originally, but I'm thinking/hoping it won't take too long if we run straight through the first bit to the boss and don't die enough to end up with a reset. Unrelated note - I picked up primary ammo synths at some point, and I was sure it was from the Gunsmith, but he hasn't had any for weeks now - is there any other way to get them at all? I've already been hoping they'll reappear in his weekly stock change(consumables have remained the same for weeks) but now especially with Bad Juju's full auto ability AND its auto-reload on kills I can see myself burning through primary in no time, and some synths would definitely help me out!
-
Ahhh, glad to hear it isn't just me then! Me and Frag really struggled with it when we originally ran it, and I managed to get him down to about a third on the solo with I think weapons of light, running, and the 310 machine gun, with 2/3 of us higher light it hopefully won't be too painful at all(he says). When are you guys doing your raid? I could try and co-incide either side of that. Otherwise I think I'll be on tonight, and most likely tmw too(then not til maybe Tues).
-
Think I'm getting hooked on the thrill if 3oCs gambles. Apparently must have popped one before I went off last night/this morn, cracked right in with sparrow racing this eve and got an exotic engram! Didn't realise it was SRL-able. Gone to the cryptarch aaand...its rolled out as a 310 Bad Juju ! Means I'll sadly have to consider fucking off my Telesto(glad I kept my 300 long far gone tho), hopefully I'll like the Bad Juju being as its a pulse rifle. Ofc despite all of this I'm still a bit shit - finding it impossible to try solo-ing Fear's Embrace for the SrL mission, let alone within the time limit! Is there anyone else here with it pending and wanna give it a run at some point? Or know a good way to solo it? I just can't figure out a good way without getting merked by the ads.

Report: Kojima starting up new studio, in talks with Sony
Rummy replied to Happenstance's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I guess I implied it wasn't big anymore; I just wondered if it's still as big as it was. Do you guys get as hyped for new ones as you might have for old ones? Trying to put it on a par with some of my other franchise fatigue, if it's comparable at all. I realise it's still quite big, but is it as big as it's always been? Would the hype for Kojima be bigger than FF at this point? -
A fully random rotation would be the best - or a selection of 3/4 of all and users vote and majority takes it etc(similar to what Halo did iirc). I wondered before, though I haven't a basis for it, if having 2 maps per four hours or 3 solid maps for a splatfest somehow can allow them to be preloaded of sorts to then speed up loading times - I wouldn't put it past them tbh. If there was to be a full random/more varied setup, maybe it'd put a penalty on speed of loading etc? Sadly I'm only speculating though, could not be the case at all.

I remember trying to download one of the X-Men films and it was just bloody Snoop Dogg's Doggystle or some shit! Unimpressed at the time given the sheer amount of time it was taking and how much slower broadband would have been back then(not to mention storage space!). The news and association of Napster is hilarious though. Who on earth even uses them?? I can't see the WiiU being some awesome media/music machine, and even if so - wouldn't people just go use YouTube on it or something?
