  1. Talk about delusions of grandeur.
  2. They're about this -> .
  3. Yeah, that's basically what I said.
  4. You're right, Gamespot's review shouldn't be messing with people's judgement of the game. And for me it hasn't. But there isn't anything wrong with discussing it, is there? This forum is here for discussing anything related to the Wii is it not?
  5. The 360 version is only £12.99 now at Gameplay.
  6. Initially I thought 8.8 was very reasonable. A good score like that was never going to put me off buying the game, and neither should it have anyone else. But after playing the game, realising how much better it is than the review had me expecting, and then comparing it with other games Gamespot have scored similarly that have more serious flaws - Kameo: Elements Of Power comes to mind, which they gave 8.7, a good game but nowhere near as good as Twilight Princess - it becomes apparent that they really did the dirty on Twilight Princess. Gamespot's review simply doesn't feel consistent with their own reviewing standards. Then again, maybe it is? Had this game been on the Xbox 360 and had next-gen graphics, I'm sure it would have received a more deserving review and a score in the high 90's.
  7. I was playing the last few Megadrive and SNES games I ever bought, and had begun moving over to PC gaming. But even then, I mostly just played the demos I found on magazine cover disks. I had become a bit bored of video gaming at the time. It wasn't until some way into 1997 that I begun exploring the world of PC gaming proper.
  8. Indeed. If anything has lost Nintendo sales, it's their inability to keep up with demand. As far as I'm concerned, the people bitching about the price - and in most cases not just the price - never intended to buy a Wii anyway. They're the ignorant 'it's just a Gamecube with a gimmicky controller' type people.
  9. Compared to the DS version it's greased lightning!
  10. I have a Mad Catz cable myself. It's good. Well, it's as good as can be expected from the Wii's paltry 480p limit.
  11. The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Call Of Duty 3, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Red Steel. I went a bit overboard!
  12. I get a glitch where the white dot momentarily moves to the center of the screen and back again, and in some cases I've noticed that at the same time it'll pause input from the thumbstick on the nunchuck, making movement in the game become briefly erratic. I believe it's a problem solely with Red Steel, because I've had no problems with any of my other games.
  13. I doubt developers use that method for in-game soundtracks anymore. These days it would be easier to load MP3, OGG, etc. or their own custom audio format files into memory than play tracks directly from the drive.
  14. I seriously doubt there would be any harm - or any point - in trying those three things.
  15. I watch them on my Xbox 360, so I don't need DVD playback on my Wii.
  16. You're misinterpreting what they promised though; Nintendo never said it would rank higher than Ocarina Of Time on Game Rankings. When Nintendo claimed it would be the best Legend Of Zelda game ever they would have done so based on their own standards, not anyone or anything elses. And in the eyes of many, that promise will have been fulfilled regardless of statistics drawn from reviews found on a website. I sure am glad I don't base my preferences on statistics, because my all-time favourite game has an overall ranking of 814 on Game Rankings. Anyway, The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess is my favourite Wii launch game. It's been a magical, engrossing experience so far. And is the best Zelda game I've played.
  17. ...however, look at the vital stats on the right of the review. They say the Wii version is best.
  18. I'm wondering if the Wii is actually any more powerful than the Gamecube. Regardless of the rumoured better-than-Xbox specifications, of the five launch games I've played none of them suggest it is. And if it wasn't for Twilight Princess I'd think it was a good deal inferior! I know these are only launch titles, and that the usual school of thought is that visuals improve over the course of a consoles life. But the Gamecube had the likes of Luigi's Mansion and Rogue Leader from day one, the Wii has nothing to prove it's any more powerful than the console it supercedes. Nevertheless, apart from needing a component cable to remedy the awful blurring Wii games have on my television, the graphics do mean little to me. Twilight Princess is the best game I've played this generation, even if it does look like a last generation game.
  19. I do, so yes.
  20. He said he had componant, that's why I asked. Nevermind.
  21. Aah, but do you have component?
  22. It looks like I'll have completed Twilight Princess before I've even seen what it looks like with a component cable. Oh well...
  23. I get a glitch where the dot, that tells you where you're pointing the gun, momentarily pops to the center of the screen and back. It's not affecting the gameplay for me, but it's still quite annoying! It does indeed look like a poor PS2 game. Inspite of the odd glitch here and there, and that it looks really poor, I am quite enjoying the game though.
  24. Nintendo haven't played Rayman Raving Rabbids then. I just can't move the controllers fast enough to finish some of the mini games.
  25. The 360 version is region free, so you could import it from Video Games Plus for only £16.36!
