  1. I hope 2D. They tried 3D Street Fighter... and we all remember the results. NOT Street Fighter IV! Don't panic. Not so much the graphics, but the horrible gameplay. SF-gameplay was concieved, and intended for 2D-gameplay. In 3D, the timing is off. Just look what happened when they thought it would be a good idea to make Virtua Fighter in 2D. Anyway, if they do make SFIV a 2D-fighting game, they are going to have to rethink the entire fighting mechanic. But who knows? The result just may be worth it.
  2. Let's hope! And while we're at it, let's hope there are less random encounters and less confusing navigation.
  3. Wow, that looks mighty nice! I always liked Wesker. Always knew he had it in him. My triggerfinger is itching...
  4. That's the PAL-version for you. Indeed, the subtitles are only there in the cutscenes, and there are few, so it's not much of a problem. A good opportunity to brush up on your French and German? Instant translation!
  5. There is a God. And he's currently working at Capcom.
  6. I have played Super Metroid. At long last, I can die a fullfilled gamer... Then again, perhaps first finish the game, and then we'll see. Still so many games to play. For some reason, I never bought Super Metroid back in the days. Mighty odd. Thanks to Virtual Console, I can look myself in the mirror again. Need a shave.
  7. Same here! Third Strike plays the best, and has the visuals to match! If Street Fighter IV is a 2D-game (and it better be!), I doubt it'll come to Wii. Methinks they are going to take the HD-route, not unlike SF2:HD. The trailer is stylish enough, but doesn't say much about the game we didn't expect: it has Ryu, Ken, hadokens and a field with long grass and trees being shaken by the wind. Standard Street Fighter-fare. Still, there is something odd about Ken. Is it Ken's turn to become 'evil'?
  8. The SW-RS-preorder disk is pretty rare, as is Pacman VS. Haven't got them. Got MGS:TTS and Killer7 for €15 and Ikaruga for €20. Even found the Zelda Collector's Edition for €10. Now there was a bargain if ever there was one! Guess it's more up to luck than anything else, though. Not very rare, but very niche is Doshin the Giant, the only game where a woman informs you that "he's grown even bigger now!" The demo-disc are pretty rare indeed! How did you get hold of those and what's on them?
  9. Sweet banana! +3 for excitement! I'm still quite sceptical, though. The game gathers more and more negative feedback with each new preview. Let's hope Capcom pulls this one off.
  10. Hey, this looks rather nice! : peace: No Gears of War, but it looks very promising! I'll be keeping a close watch on this one!
  11. Mario Kart goes PGR4. :p
  12. Out of sheer celebration, I've started playing Project Zero 3 again. I never got very far, so a great opportunity to pick it up again. Coming to think of it, it would work wonderful on Wii. Just imagine you wield the Camera Obscura just like you wield your gun in CoD3 with dynamic aiming off. I just hope they remain fairly loyal towards the previous style of PZ. Well, bar perhaps the depressing apathy of the characters. When they talk or do anything, they seems to be deader than the ghosts they encounter. Besides being (moderately) scared, they often show little to no heavy reaction to anything. Even when they are in an environment where no ghosts are (the house in the beginning of PZ3), they seems to be in a constant 'philosophical' mood. "...It's raining again..." "...Yes..." "...Ah..." "... I wonder..." You'd be happy to encounter a ghost. Atleast they are more lively.
  13. Mighty odd. I'm pretty sure I woke up this morning. So how come I'm still having wonderful dreams?
  14. If the Netherlands would get the uncensored-version, I'll eat my hat. It's too much of a hassle to release an uncensored version for just one country. Just because they theoretically can, doesn't mean they will. Let's hope it to be true! Maybe it's just the original Manhunt blurring my memories.
  15. I picked this up really cheap a couple of days ago (Yes, I'm in a retro-mood), and I'm rather impressed. I played the demo a long time ago, and was suitably impressed with the flying sections (bar the voive-acting), but really disliked the on-foot-sections. But little did I know there was a dual-stick-mode, and what difference does it make! Far from perfect (too sensitive), but it's so much more enjoyable now. Yay! Oh, don't you tease me! That could work very well. Control the Arwing with Nunchuk, aiming and shooting by pointing with the Wii-remote. Fingers crossed for a return to the Starfox 64-days!
  16. Mad as a hatter! Nah, kav82 is right, especially when it comes to Metroid. You either love it, or hate it. It has a rather niche-feel to it. Always has. True, I bought GamesTM too, and both the review and the Retro-feature are very good. MP3 got the same score as Halo 3, which is fair. Truth be told, I usually trust Edge, but after reading the reviews of last issue, I'm left bewilderd. Not just MP3, but Halo 3, Strangehold, etc. Mighty odd!
  17. I think they are going to release it in Mainland Europe. Well, bar from possibly Germany, where even Stranglehold is banned. Anyway, I doubt they are going to alter the game even further, as it was given the green light in the US, and I doubt much countries in Mainland Europe are going to make a point of it. Let's hope so, so you UK-ers can import it. Don't worry about the language. I can count the games that don't have atleast an English option on one hand. There migh' be 'native-only'-versions,but importers are going to be more than happy to give you what you're craving for. Then again, I couldn't be bothered if this comes out or not. I have serious doubts about this one. Strip away the violence and gore, and what do you have? If violence is additional to a good game, I don't mind. If a game depends solely on its depiction of violence, I grow suspicious. Then again, I might be wrong, as I usually am.
  18. Too true. If you look at the opening of Sunshine, you could replace Mario and cohorts with any random set of characters, and you wouldn't notice it was originally a Mario-game. Do that with the opening of Galaxy, and the first thing you'd think is "What a shameless Mario Rip-off!". IMO, Sunshine seemed to have taken inspiration from Sonic Adventure on the sugject of storytelling, which isn't a favourable thing at all...
  19. Well, Nintendo is a company, so in the end they are about money and not our appreciation. Anyway, it's true that NoE has a massive back-catalogue of screw-ups. I'd say they hate us moderaltely. I don't think it's all bad intention, though. And truth be told, it's has gotten better. Sometimes they can't do much about it, sometimes they can but can't be bothered. NoE never has been a highlight of respect for gamers or sensible decisions. If somehow we could kick them on their proverbial behinds... without the pointless idea of a boycot, ofcourse. Come to think of it, NoE and ONM do have a lot in common.
  20. It seems that Ryan Schneider, currently working Ratchet & Clanck Future: Tools of Destruction for PS3, believes Super Mario Galaxy is influenced by his work on previous R&C's. True inspiration or wishful thinking? Personally, I think it's a tad bit too farfetched (and ego-stroking), but you never know. Read the full interview here.
  21. I feel your pain. I often say to myself I won't buy game X (like Super Smash Football or heavenly Sword), until I see it on the shelves and you read how great is on forums... Oh, how I am weak... And if you're still not sure about MP3 when it comes out, you can't go wrong with a rental. Just don't ask what it's like on this forum, because the consensus will more than likely be "Awesome!".
  22. Why on earth would you want to spoil the ending for yourself even before the game is out here? Nevertheless, ending or not, I bet this is still worth it. After all, you play a game for the game. The ending is just the cherry on the gaming pie. And I have to disagree that it has taken NoE very long. It's taken them 2 months after the US and within the first year of Wii's life, which is rather 'fast'. Granted, it could've been faster, but it's not too bad. You should have been around when the NES launched. One year after the US and a whopping 3 years after Japan. And don't get me started about WarioWare Twisted! NoE lives of gamers tears. Speaking of spoilers, it was a sad day for me and Twilight Princess
  23. I played 'trail' yesterday, just to got a feel for it again. The game sure knows it's own nature. At the end of the trial-mode, the message says "Rome wasn't built in a day!" Wow, that's some motivational speech. Must... try... harder... Must... train... more... Must... get... better...
  24. Having a Xbox360 , PS3 and Wii since their respective launches, I can say Wii is definitely my favourite. I've been playing games since the NES, and remember all the special new controls that passed the revue: shoulder buttons, analogue stick, dual analogue sticks, analogue triggers, rumble, tilt, etc, and the Wii-remote gives me the same feeling not unlike the first time you use a analogue stick, for example. It works, and you feel giggly because of the sensation that you're having an new experience, a new way of interacting with the world on your screen, and one that actually works! 360 and PS3 have great games, but bar raw processing power, there isn't anything I haven't played since 2001. Just look at DS and PSP. PSP has great games, but I prefer to play on DS, despite its underwhelming horsepower. So, is Wii magical? In a gamer's way, it is indeed...
  25. This game is looking better and better than the first game! The boxart, on the other hand...
