  1. According to this site, NoE denies the Smash launch date. They have phoned NoE, and they assured the date from the French site was phony. It's still planned for a release somewhere in 2008. Nintendo denies launch date Brawl (in Dutch) This might be good... or bad. What do they actually do at NoE HQ? Water plants? Dry their hair? Watch paint dry? This is getting silly...
  2. I was going to get this game, but not anymore. Not on these terms. I know gore and violence isn't everything, but this is ridiculous and just plain silly. I'm massively disappointed by this. I guess I'l keep looking to Devil May Cry 4 for my hacking and slashing-needs. A real downer, for gamers and for Wii.
  3. Famitsu gives the heads-up. It's coming to arcade, Xbox360 and PS3. Sadly, Wii is left out. Info and screens of the other classic characters Anyways, love the art, hate the ingame graphics.
  4. Atlast, news about Project Zero for Wii! Happy days! But if those shots are ingame, I'm willing to eat my entire PZ-collection while doing a silly monkeydance.
  5. In the festival spirit: "The three wise men gave the gift of gold, myrrh and a Nintendo Wii"
  6. When I see those screens, I think this is looking bad. When I read the details about the game, I think this is even getting worse. 3D-graphics with 2D-timing gameplay? Haven't they learned anything from the past? Why no parries from the best SF-game? Why do they set it between SFIIT and SFIII? To cram as much as (wellknown = wellselling) SFII-stuff inthere as possible? The artistic direction is indeed 'interesting'. Sure, it shouldn't look photorealistic (now there's a scary thought), but why do Ryu and Ken have to look like some actionfigure-rejects? But that's Mr. Negativity talking. Who knows what time can bring, eh? C'mon Capcom, you've made sensible decisions lately. Don't screw this one.
  7. Wow, this game really has me floored! Not just the excellent graphics, but the fact that it has shooting and is not a sci-fi/WWII-adventure with a fetish for the colours gray and brown. The animation is superb, the voice-acting class and the gameplay, while not the re-imagining of adventure gaming, is well above average. This is just what I needed: a game that makes me feel like Indiana Jones! It's a good period for PS3 for me. Call of Duty 4 slipped by, Ratchet and Clank found it's way to me, Folklore has left me both incredibly surprised and enthousiastic and now this!
  8. Hmm... Truth be told, I'm not exactly filled with excitement. It looks technically advanced enough, but... I don't know. My guts tell me something is wrong. Still, it's only one pic, and it isn't even true gameplay. I'll just wait and see. Only fools never change their minds. Ruy looks rather old here, so this is definitely placed after the Alpha-series and probably after SFII/III. Then again, since when do we play fighting games for their stories.
  9. Call me an ol' scruffy traditionalist, but I couldn't agree less even if I tried. I would never return to a single analogue stick after DA for some games. Not to say DA has to be used at every opportunity, but it makes some game better and easier to control. It's one of the few faults the Dreamcast had IMO. That said, the DA-sticks on GC were poorly implemented, so I wouldn't take that as a reference for DA. Take the 360-controller: those DA-sticks are way better. In the end, some control methods are just better suited for some games. I wouldn't say one is better than the other in general. I'm all for analogue sticks, but ever tried to play a Street Fighter using that? D-pad all the way! All control systems have their strenghts and weaknesses. Why do I have the feeling there is flaming abound?
  10. Even if I have no place in this topic (I'm not a Wii-only gamer), I don't particulary miss analogue sticks, but I do think they still have their place. For FPS's, it feels hard to go back to DA. The Wii-remote is just so much better if it's implemented right. Even other games work surprisingly well, like Scarface or RE4. Playing something like Eledees just wouldn't be possible with DA. That said, I think there are games where, at this moment, DA-sticks still have my preference, like certain racers, fighters or games like, e.g. Uncharted or Tomb Raider.
  11. IGN AU hands-on A very crude and perhaps unfair visual comparison (but still): Xbox360/PS3/PC-version Wii/PS2-version I'm still not sold on the Wii's artistic style. I hope they release some decent Wii-shots soon. And the above comments give me a bad feeling. Man, the gameplay of the Wii-version better be up to it...
  12. Actually, I thought you meant this one: Ghostbusters II on Gameboy! Now that was a great GB-game, and no, that's no sarcasm. It really was a great game!
  13. Too true! I first noticed that when the monkeys attacked. (No spoiler there: it's all over the screenshots.) Just escaped a near-death experience, shooting the hell out of rampaging wild undead attackers, and they just talk casually about the past. The game does indeed seem to get better the longer you play...
  14. Got this yesterday, and played it a while. Haven't had the time to get really stuck in in though. As said before, it's nice and fun, and is definitely an act of fanservice from Capcom, but it won't set your world on fire. It's unmistakenly RE, but... well, as an on-rail shooter, with all the goods and bads. It's not bad in any way, but those expecting a RE4-like quality, are looking in the wrong place This is (no surprise) a completely different type of game. It has an addictive edge, though. That "one-more-go"-thing. I was also surprised that there is some getting used to and a rather steep learning curve for an on-rails-shooter.
  15. I fear no console is completely free of crashes, and it seems bad luck has fallen upon your back. It's still under guarantee, so Nintendo should, nay, has to help you. I just hope you still have the receipt, or something that proves the day of purchase? Anyways, a call to Nintendo's Custumor Service is in order. And good luck.
  16. There, finished the game on medium. Now I'm off to hard. Cursing ahead! :p Anyhoo, about the ending...
  17. It's out on some shelves. Haven't bought it yet, though. Too busy to play anyway.
  18. That's so fake my ears start tingling. I don't think Nintendo would call the site "Where roads meet...". They already used "Swords will bleed..." in the original TP-trailer. Too much alike. Still, it looks pretty decent, but I don't think this is the artistic direction Nintendo will be taking the next Zelda (or any, for that matter). Whoever made this, is sure to have a great amount of hits on his site, though.
  19. Well, there are only so much people who buy consoles. Given the very strong Wii-sales early on in its lifespan, a lot of people already have a Wii. No point in buying another one just because Mario Galaxy is out. People who were going to buy Mario, probably already bought a Wii earlier.
  20. For some reason, I'm quite fond of the Tom Morello challenge. I dig his style. Ah, those R.A.T.M.-days... The bad thing about replaying and replaying that, is that it becomes too easy after a while. Who thought that hard work would eventually lead to something... productive? I'm getting 100% note hits at the moment on medium. Slash on the other hand... Guess hard mode awaits. But first conquer medium.
  21. Got this for my birthday from my brother (Dropped enough hints. He has a legendary bad taste in games, so just to be sure...), and I quite like this! Relaxing, smooth... I always play in 1st-person. Feels the best to me. Nothing like a nice, relaxing dive after a hard day of work and stress... Then shred some riffs with GHIII!
  22. I second that. I always use the jump-button instead of using up. It feels better with Smash bros. IMO. Still, let's see if Brawl can change my ways. I have all control options at my disposal, so there will be weeks of trying out and modifying. As if the game itself won't suck away enough free time as it is. :p I said about the same expression 20 minutes later in another topic. Fates interwine and all that jazz!
  23. Truer words were never spoken. Until now, that was.
  24. Reportedly, it's coming out with a €30-pricetag, if this source is to be believed. (Beware: Dutch!) if this is true, it'll probably retail for €29,99, like Endless Ocean. If your store has fair prices. There are stores here who try to sell Endless Ocean for €45. Good luck with other stores in the street selling it for €30. A calculator later, and this makes for a... errr, £21.6276-pricetag.
  25. Hmm, I don't think that boxart is too shabby. The font and figure on the right are typically HotD, so no harm there. The colour combination in indeed peculiar, but it conveys the HotD-atmosphere quite well IMO. It won't win any awards for it's brilliant boxart, but for a HotD-game, I think it's pretty classy. And since this is selling for cheap (), chances are high I'll pick this up. Again.
