Couldn't resist, mate.

Red? Yellow? Black? Pah! Weak! Be a true man! Suck in that chest! Grow a beard! Laugh with dirty jokes! Watch football in yer underpants! Convince others that Sean Connery is the Bond ever! Choose... purple! Just like me. And be as man as a man can be. Now make a manly roar! Harrr!

Oh, no's! Whatever shall we do now?! Well, coming from Epic Games, hardly the breakers of new grounds, I'm not surprised or worried in the least. Let them think what they want to, and make another Unreal or some game with space marines and big guns and lot's of blood. I've heard that's 'the thing' right now.

Hmm, it's no visual masterpiece, but I like those environments. The hands that's holding the handgun... That's pretty bad, though. But if this has a smooth and consistant framerate (and controls that work, ofcourse), it'll more than make up for it. I hope we see some gameplay-movie soon. They draw inspiration from MP:Corruption and MOH: Heroes 2? If they nail those controls, we're in for quite a ride!

Ah, finally started on the 150cc-cups. Yep, I'm not progressing very fast, but that's mainly down to lack of time. That's my offline excuse. As for online... The sun is shining is my eyes? I've found myself a new character, though, which suits me very wel.

Call me Ol' Mister Cynic, but this gives me a very "Freddy vs. Jason"-feeling. "Hey, two franchises that don't seem to mean a lot anymore? Let's combine them! Hooray! FTW!" I agree that the Mortal Kombat was in dire need of a rework or reboot, but I still don't feel this is the way they should go. The more I read about it, the more I feel that way. I like MK, and love Batman and the like, but to throw them together? I like chocolate and love chicken, but they simply don't mix very well.

Just wondering, what characters and vehicles are you all using for (online) races? I usually use...

I know! Publish it ourselves! Let's put our £'s 'n €'s together, and form N-Europe Publishing"! The Conduit Developed by High Voltage Published by N-Europe Publishing How hard can it be?! Meanwhile, in the real world... It looks dang promising. It's good to see a developer taking a risk on Wii, and I truely hope it pays off. As for the engine, that looks mighty fine! Let's hope it's up to the task and that other developers try to obtain a license. Yes, it's not overly original, but it gives me that good feeling in my belly. Oh wait, it's just lunchtime.

So, the kat (hah!) is apparently out of the bag. Mortal Kombat 8 is... Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe? If this were the 1st of April, I'd have laughed. But now... I don't mind a spin-off à la Marvel vs. Capcom, but as the official next instalment of Mortal Kombat? I'm not yet convinced this is a good direction for the MK-franchise. Still, I love to be surprised.

Impressive... Most impressive... Let's hope this game A. turn out to good and B. it gets the attention it then deserves. Why? Here's why: This game better finds a publisher soon...

Yes, you can.

I like a lot of the new tracks, but I also despise a fair few. Anyhoo, is it just me or is the ranking-system rather... pointless? Why do you got to have a ranking anyway? I just feels like a prestige-thing to me. For one, I don't care for my ranking or anyone elses. I just play a couple of races each day, purely for fun! yesterday, my session started really bad (again), but I came through eventually. I notice the online community is getting a lot better, though! A week ago, I still had a fighting chance. Now, I usually get trashed. But I like a challenge!

I agree with someone and I'm sure I disagree with someone else here too. Anyhoo, I too own all three consoles, and I too play the most on Wii. The PS3 is second, and last is my 360... of which I have to admit I haven't bought a single game for for 18 months. The Wii keeps calling me back, but I wouldn't say I have a favourite console. They all have their strenghts and weaknesses. They all have killer-titles and craptastic games.

Don't know if these tips are even a bit useful or new, as I rather suck at this, but here goes: Don't fall down. If there is no solid substance next to the track, avoid. Should you fall down, press the accelerate button the moment you touch the ground. You'll start with a boost. Boosting depends on the duration of the drift... but the more sharply you turn, the faster you'll gain a blue/red spark. The difference is very small and subtle, but it's there. (Actually, I'm not sure this is true, but that's the impression I have) Tradition Turbo Start: press and hold accelerate just before "2" starts to fade. You can hold onto items for the last stretch (e.g. Bullet Bill), but there is a risk involved. If you get hit or POW-ed, you'll lose your item. Stunts are vital. Slipstreaming (and preventing others to do so) is vital. Shout hysterically when you get hit by a blue shell. It won't do any good, but atleast it'll make you feel a bit better. Nothing earthshattering, really.

2D or 3D, a crap game is still a crap game. No amount of dimensions is going to fix that. So I don't care whether they make this one completely 2.5D or not. I just want a fun Sonic-game.

It takes some getting used to, but trust me (and the others), when it clicks, it's hard to ever go back. The controls are spot-on, and it's without any doubt the best MP-game in the trilogy. Well, without any doubt in my mind anyway. It's true that the beginning is a bit stale (especially compared to Metroid Prime 1), but it gets better. Way better!
-
Yep, I do that too. An act of desperation, it is! I also love it when you're not in first place, and you see a blue shell flying past. *sniggersnigger* Oh, yes. I know that one. Especially painful when you're first, and want to make a flashy ending by drifting across the finish line, only to realise...

Generic conference reactions for generic conferences. Let's face it: Nintendo hasn't had a good PR-gettogether since E3'04. That was the first and only time Reginald "Reggie" Fils-Aimé had something to say. Ever since then, he's simply been a talking PowerPoint program. Wasn't expecting much anyway. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. It just... was. My advice? If Nintendo holds a conference, make your expectations suitably low. Ah, the days of Nintendo Space World... Then came Nintendo World 2006...

There was an article in my newspaper today. Game in a nutshell: "White man goes to poor African village to mow down as many infected black people as he can." That's a pretty shortsided view, and the editor does go on that it isn't as sharp, but that that's how it's viewed by the general public. They are sure the people at Capcom don't hace racist motive, but that they ar "clumsy to have a story about a viral outbreak in a country that is plagued by Aids". The Capcom-representative tries to get out of it by stating 'it aren't humans, but zombies", which is quite funny, as Camcom recently emphasised that "It aren't zombies of ganados, but people of flesh and blood". To be continued...

Intruiging... though it does call for a healthy dose of scepticism. Could be awesome, could be crap. Guess we'll just have to wait (some more) and see. I'm digging the tone, though. That alledged screenshot has a Project Zero-vibe to it. Me like! This has potention, but my guts say this is going to have to try very hard. Very hard indeed.

I have to agree with DavidRedge here. The SNES-battle mode is without any doubt on my mind the best one yet, 2-players or not! Didn't like the N64-version, and truely despise the Wii's. On SNES, it was simple and straightforward, yet surprisingly deep and had plenty of strategy. Anyhoo, yesterday I had a miserable session online! I'm not that good anyway, but now it was really bad! Couldn't get any items, and when I did, it was worthless. Or I just misused it. And ofcourse I drove pretty bad too. So my ranking has sunk pretty low. Guess it just wasn't my day. Still, I shall rise again! Be warned! : peace:

Actually, I've tried all options, and found that for me the wheel works the best. It's amazingly accurate, and my kart has never done anything I didn't want to. The nunchuk works fine, but the wheel is more... natural. It's better for turning and equal to a stick for drifting. Hell, I even seem to be more handy drifting with the wheel then with a stick. Nope, after playing all Mario Karts under the sun, there is no going back to regular controls for me. This generation, it's wheel all the way! I guess it's purely personal, though.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)
Strange Cookie replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Nah. First of all, I don't 'do right things'. Second, like I said, it'll come, and I am in no hurry. Truth be told, I don't care if it comes tomorrow, next month or at Christmas. I'll still have a blast playing this, but to import, cheap and easy as it may be? Nah. It's not like Brawl is the only game there is. At the moment, I see no benefit in having this at my doorstep three days from now. It'll come in good time. Atleast I'll still have something to look forward to. "L'aspiration est mieux que la possession." -
Good tidings indeed. Not sure I'll be getting this for Wii (I have the PS2-original, and haven't completed it yet), but this is mandatory stuff for anyone who dares call himself/herself gamer! They could have put a Nintendo-label on it, and I would have believed that without a seconds doubt. But, well, being on PS2...

"There was nothing we could do" "How could anyone do this?" "It's too quiet" "Thanks, Harry", and walks away casually from his terribly injured friend after killing a chainsaw-wielding homocidal giant in a maze that erupted in a colloseum. Or the utterly cringeworthy pun with the hanging zombies: "James. Are you alright?" "Yeah, I'm hanging on" Legendary! That's and at the same time. Can you get any more B-movie?
