Haha, good job, I've never seen that before

Most of the noises I hear from people range from "Holy fuck! Eugggghhh!" to "Jesus Christ almightly Seán, how can you eat this ballix??"

I'd say Super Smash Bros., but to me, the experience on GameCube will make the N64 version look and play very outdated. The sad thing is, I can't really recommend any other great games that I've played apart from the ones you said yourself!

The age old "Love It or Hate It" campaign - which side are you on? Personally I love it, it's close to an addiction for me. The best way for it is on a toasted brown-bread heel with butter - fuckin' great stuff  Being Irish none of my family understand it lol they'd sooner eat shite off a shiny shovel...

Maybe some of the more tech-savvy could help us out here - but I've just been playing the N64 Zelda ROMs on the N64 PC emulator at a resolution of 1280x1024x32 and by Christ, do they look great. These are N64 games, nothing has been changed except the resolution pumped up to suit my PC monitor, but they look fantastic. If you bring them down to 800x600 or lower, they look shite again. My question is, I wonder what resolution the Revolution will run at? Should there be a need for HD display if the resolution is even way higher than 1080i/1080p?

about that 2-3 times more powerful remark.....
KingOfHyrule replied to wavedash's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Hmm I don't know about that, Nintendo kinda didn't deliver with the DS in terms of graphics; they sacrificed potential GameCube-like graphics in favour of the touchscreen mechanics to keep the price down. The difference between PSP and DS displays is substantial, and I would not have minded in the slightest paying an extra 50 odd squid if the DS graphics matched the PSP, there would be no complaints about the DS had that have been so. -
They'd make great wallpapers

Nintendo just can't afford to play down eye candy and hardware performance in favour of innovation - to succeed I think both must go hand in hand. Sacrificing either one will not go down well! -

Sounds good. They always say "in the coming months" though.

For Nintendo to really take off with Revolution, the software has to showcase what this alien hardware is all about - what would be your perfect launch lineup for the system? I think mine would have to be - Mario 128 Super Smash Bros. Rev A driving game A shooter Something innovative that really shows off what it can do - a wacky minigame title maybe? Save Metroid for later, and save Zelda for about two years into things (as usual)

Looking forward to that day!

People Haven't Grasped the Magnitude of Revolution

Well done, very good post! -
Nintendo are the most experienced company in the industry. They have the perfect configuration for FPS gaming (among others). I can't see why they don't sit down, put their heads together and create the most ultimate shooter with gorgeous graphics, they have the genius to do it without a doubt. A killer FPS at launch would instantly sell the machine!

Any ideas on the cost of the controller?
KingOfHyrule replied to RATM_4_EVA's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I could see Nintendo selling the Revolution for $200, then about £150 for us - they're all about value for money these days. -
I agree, but it may be the case that you hold down a button on the pointer when you want to look about, because as mentioned, you may sneeze or something and everything goes apeshit. It's different for mouse/keyboard FPS playing because the mouse sits on the pad; this controller is held in the hand without support. Imagining the same situation for the likes of Zelda - you may have to hit a button on the controller to switch to camera mode so you can look about, instead of having it constantly freestyle.
-
I read somewhere that the controller isn't Nintendo's trump card though, that they have more in store to tell us
-
Did anyone stop and think about the controller demo clip? After watching it, yes, it's obvious that the TV screen isn't shown switched on at all throughout the clip, but maybe that's a hint at something else. True, it may be that Nintendo just didn't want to show us any game footage, or it could be that there is still something else they don't want us to see. Could it be that there is still a surprise in store for us when it comes to how the games are displayed on-screen? Remember the mention of the psuedo-VR display? Any ideas?

Jesus...not a lot of great feedback on this

Those poll results are unbelievable - who would have thought the Revolution would top it? -

Which play pretty well, mind you. :p -

On first sight, it actually looks more complicated than a conventional pad, so Nintendo can't afford to put people off even though they say it's simple to use. -
On a lot of sites and forums I've looked at, many people are saying they are actually laughing at the controller. On first sight, without knowing what it can do, it looks like a remote control with a D-pad and a few buttons stuck on in the worst possible places. Which it does look like - because no one can see what it can do purely though an image. I'd be worried that there'll be a tidalwave of people following suit and basing their opinions purely on what it looks like...it's a shame Nintendo didn't even give us one demonstration of how it could work with onscreen displays.

There's talk of something being shown in October - WiFi at least, but that would be a good time to showcase software. Who knows?

I don't think I care how pretty the games are anymore
KingOfHyrule replied to Hal_9Million's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I still absolutely care about graphics, I've always loved visually impressive things.
