Happenstance

My K3 Max arrived yesterday and I love it. My original mechanical was really nice but I kept telling myself that I'm sure it'll just take time to get used to it and the mistakes will stop both in typing and gaming but they never did. With my K3 I'm seeing no issues straight off the bat. Guess I just prefer low profile.

Vol.2 of the main Uncanny X-Men omnibus' finally got a reprint so ordered my copy. Nice to have the Phoenix Saga in omnibus now.

Dipping my toes into board/card games. Did a bit of research over the weekend to see what was good and could be played solo. Decided on Marvel Champions but there are definitely a few others like Final Girl or Warp's Edge that I may pick up if I'm enjoying Marvel.

I was a bit annoyed yesterday logging on after having to download the 40 gig patch (understandable as it's an online game but still annoying) to find that the difficulty seems to have been upped for the expansion but those of us still playing through the base game are suddenly dying a lot more.

Needed a new keyboard as I never really ended up getting on with the full mechanical one I bought previously and was noticing a lot of miss hits when playing Diablo IV this weekend. Heard good things about Keychron and wanted a low profile keyboard so went with their Keychron K3 Max.

I tried the pc demo again earlier. They've managed to sort out the FPS issues by forcing it into windowed mode, even when you choose other options. Not a great fix but it does let me play it at some point. Honestly though the shit job they did with the pc version has soured me on the game so I'll probably just wait until it gets a very big discount before I buy it.

I'd love to be able to paint the figures like that, just don't have the patience (or skill)

Hah, I've tried a few times and still never made it more than a few hours in. I think the last time was about a year ago and I thought I could go into it with a clearer perspective and enjoy it for just being Mass Effect. I don't remember what annoyed me so much on that playthrough, I just remember having such hatred for the game that I finally gave up trying 😆

If it helps, all the Remastered games play great. I'm the exact opposite though, the entire Mass Effect trilogy, both original and Remastered is one I can just play over and over again, doing everything and always stopping to read the lore. Its one of my favourite universes in media.

Does anyone still follow Warhammer stuff? With Space Marine 2 out now it's got me interested in 40k again. I'm thinking about picking up some of the books (I'm told the Eisenborn trilogy is the best place to start) and maybe even trying my hand at painting some minatures again despite the last time being a pretty big failure.

Finally bought Diablo IV. I enjoyed playing it on that free weekend but was also playing Uncharted so never bothered picking it up. I'm currently in the mood to play Ghost of Tsushima but want to wait for a better discount so Diablo should be a nice game to play in the mean time.

I'm still waiting for a patch to fix the demo before I even think about preordering the full game. They've acknowledged the PC issues and released 1 patch but it fixed nothing for me.

Is PC Gamer still going as well?

Apparently it's an issue where the game defaults to CPU instead of GPU and can't be quick fixed for those of us with AMD chips. Awesome.

Just tried the demo on PC and it's a complete mess. Felt like I was getting about 10fps. Not going near this again until I know it's been patched. Even the menus were chugging so it took forever to test changes (nothing fixed it anyway).

At that point the idea for the invasion wasn't the same as they were originally going to run WCW as a separate company with their own show, they did one test and it didn't go well which was when they pivoted.

The sixth episode definitely went into more of the recent allegations as expected. I'd agree with a sentiment I've seen around the internet today that it might not be the best documentary for wrestling fans as it covers a lot of the stuff we all know but for the general public its a really interesting view into that world.

I'm just starting the 5th episode (this might not have been my most productive work day ever 😆) and its a good documentary which isn't necessarily shying away from stuff but it definitely feels like more of a series about the WWE than it does about Vince. Now I know its so hard to separate the two but we really are just hitting all the historical beats with Hogan, Wrestlemania, Monday Night Wars, Attitude Era, Owen's death etc. I expect the last episode might be the big one for all the current allegations but it does almost feel like a history promo for them joining Netflix next year. As I said, not a bad one or even a puff piece, more of a last minute pivot.

Mr McMahon documentary is up. Even more interested in watching it now after the stuff came out this week about Vince trying to buy it back so he could bury it.
