I haven't decided what I'm going to do with my preorder yet. I got a bit swept up in all the announcement stuff initially, not even the games though, just the idea of a new console but as time has gone on I'm getting less and less interested.

To be fair there were a surprising amount of games that didn't run smoothly on the Switch 1 as well 😜

Been debating whether to grab myself an arcade stick again over the weekend as I enjoyed it so much at the Liverpool arcade. I just don't know if I'd get enough use out of it.

Could be a good one to go to.

There was quite a bit on sale but I glossed over a lot that wasn't exclusive to the Switch as I'd rather buy it elsewhere so it's probably worth going through the list.

Guess I won't be buying it after all. Online eshop errored out when I was asked to re-enter my password for purchase and told me I needed to login on the Switch console it was tied to...which of course I can't do. Fucking Nintendo, it's like they try to make me hate them.

Think I might buy the Paper Mario Thousand Year Door remake while it's on sale digitally ready for the Switch 2. Kinda tempted by Skyward Sword again at the same time but I'm never really sure if it's for me.

There's a few ok matches but knowing how it ends does sully a lot of it.

Back from the laser treatment for my eye. Going to have to go back for a few more sessions for the bad left eye and probably just the one for the right. May still need surgery on the left eye though as there's a dispersed hemmorage there that they may have to do something about if it doesn't clear. This laser treatment will most likely make me lose my peripheral vision apparently.

Went to Arcains Arcade in Liverpool today with Goafer. Really good, well worth it if you are ever in the area. Kept pasting Goafer in fighting games until he realised he could main E Honda in the SF games we tried and that was my kryptonite.

Yeah I really enjoyed it. Played it through on Steam Deck and it was just a nice relaxing game to play.

I played through A Short Hike the other week and enjoyed it so maybe I'll take a look.

Apparently the rumoured Star Trek Lego set coming this year on Black Friday will be the Enterprise D. Very tempted to get it but I have no idea where I would be able to display it.

Forgot to mention that my Odin 2 Portal finally arrived the other day. Haven't done too much on it yet as I'm still trying to avoid straining my eyes but felt like giving DK64 a go after the new game was announced. It seems a pretty great handheld so far and the oled screen is gorgeous.

Finally some good news for me. I've been permanent in my job for 2 days a week for the past 3 years then the other 3 days have always been rolling temporary. They were going to do this again from this month to October but got so much red tape to go through (having to advertise the temp job they'd be giving me) that my bosses just said forget it then and just finally extend my permanent job to the full 5 days. Best part is that the temp job was 2 grades lower so the council basically screwed themselves out of saving a bit of money on me and I get my full salary still going forward.

I guess I'd have to go back and have a look. I thought I saw them pan across different controller options from pro controller 2, to joycons 2 in their holder to the old pro controller.

I assume as we seemed to see original pro controllers being used during the Direct that things like the 8bitdo controllers should still work with the Switch 2 as well?

The NHS appointment system really is a mess. I've got multiple appointments coming up to treat my eye, some I've had letters for, some nothing. Only reason I knew about them was because I've got the NHS app. Emailed the booking team to confirm the ones with no letters are real and they are, but now one of the others that did have a letter has been rescheduled yet the app still says the original date. Ridiculous!

No I didn't bother with Amazon after getting the Smyths preorder in, sorry

I think it makes more sense when you play the story.
