  1. What an odd time it is in Nintendo calendar. I can't believe we have gone the first two weeks of January without a Direct or an announcement of one. They have held a major Direct as late as 23rd January before, so there is still hope for this month. Calm before the storm?
  2. Online co-op play would've been good for this Deluxe version, no?
  3. Been playing NSMBUDX for the last couple of hours and I'd forgotten how much I used to enjoy 2D Mario. Think I will go for all the big coins this time. It's no Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, but the co-op looks far superior and it is more suitable for beginners. It's still number 1 on Amazon despite being out of stock there until Friday. I got mine from Shop To for £39 which included a free keyring, so got to be pleased with that

    Netflix

You is next on my Netflix list to try out. I've only heard great things.

Sex Education is one of the best things I've ever seen on Netflix. It's a British comedy drama series but is heavily influenced by the romantic comedy films of the 80s and 90s. Reminds me a bit of Skins was a decade ago but without all the OTT drug-taking.
  6. Unsurprisingly, the game launched at number one in the UK and sold 56% more physical copies than it did on Wii U at launch. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2019-01-14-uk-charts-new-super-mario-bros-u-deluxe-takes-no-1-in-quiet-week In other news, I've just ordered it and it's arriving tomorrow! Let's a-go!
  7. Digital downloads are going to be included in the UK charts from sometime this month. But Nintendo games are NOT going to be included. Isn't this going to make it look like every first party Nintendo game that comes out is a flop sales-wise? https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2019-01-14-uks-digital-download-charts-everything-you-need-to-know
  8. Yoshi's Crafted World is now available to pre-order on the eShop, for those who are that way inclined.
  9. And...it's out!!! Anyone know the cheapest price and place I can find a physical version?
  10. That is actually really kind of them. Got about five games on my backlog now, which is a lot for me; need to finish Undertale and Bayonetta 2 then I have; Grim Fandango Remastered, Broken Age and Starlink which my friend bought me as a joke because I'd slagged it off so much!
  11. It's now number 1 on Amazon video game bestsellers. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Best-Sellers-PC-Video-Games/zgbs/videogames
  12. Probably deserves a bump seeing as it's coming out this week. After saying I won't get it, I think I probably will now. I have gone 100% digital on the Switch but have decided to go physical again for games like this, that can be played over a few days and then never touched again. It came out in 2012, seeing as it's now 2019 that makes almost seven years and I don't remember much about the game other than that it's Mario and I enjoyed it,
  13. I expect there will be TV adverts coming out as soon as this weekend. It's already selling really well anyway, currently third on Amazon video game best sellers. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Best-Sellers-PC-Video-Games/zgbs/videogames
  14. Celeste is hard but the main game is not *that* hard. Everything there is very doable with practice. There is also an assist mode in case you really do get too stuck.
  15. There's a huge new sale on the Switch eShop. Purchased Into The Breach, Grim Fandango Remastered and Broken Age all for dirt cheap. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is now £33 and has jumped to the top of the eShop chart as a result.
  16. Where can I watch or find the announcement?
  17. I really want Persona 5 on the Switch! I wonder if the Nintendo announcement would be held back for the January Direct though?
  18. Thanks!
  19. I have a bit of a random question I wonder if anyone on here might know the answer to. All my Switch games apart from one are digital and so I'm always a little worried when out and about that my bag/Switch will get stolen. If this happened, does anyone know if Nintendo would let me re-download all my digital games when I bought another Switch?
  20. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe - 11th January Resident Evil 2 - 25th January Kingdom Hearts III - 29th January Mario has a two week head start on RE2 at least...Just noticed that none of them are launching on a Friday, which strikes me as weird.
  21. I think that New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is going to be one of the biggest-selling games of 2019, almost certainly the biggest of January. The mainstream gaming public must have a huge appetite for a 2D Mario game and many will not have played one since 2012's New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS or New Super Mario Bros. Wii in 2009. It's something which will consistently sell well and I imagine it will feature in the Top 40 of the UK chart for perhaps the entire year. Also, it's launching at an extremely quiet time of year, just like Mario Tennis Aces did, which should make it a guaranteed #1.
  22. Ike, Young Link, Kirby, Donkey Kong.
  23. I think a sequel is coming next year as well. Revealed at E3, released in the summer.
  24. Yoshi's Crafted World listed for April 26th 2019 on Amazon.com. Seems realistic, and distanced nicely away from NSMBUD. https://www.amazon.com/Yoshis-Crafted-World-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B072JYTJCH/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1545309447&sr=8-1&keywords=Yoshi's%2BCrafted%2BWorld&th=1
  25. This must be the only fairly big release on the Switch to have flopped sales-wise? Even 1-2-Switch, which is one of the worst games I've ever played, sold a few million copies due to being one of the first games released and it having motion controls.
