A new mainline Pokémon game will almost certainly be coming in November 2021 as well, don't forget.

We could see another Splatoon game on Switch. If not Splatoon 3 then some kind of spin off.

I genuinely think Miyamoto could well have been talking about Hey Pikmin! which came out on 3DS, when he was talking about Pikmin 4 coming soon or whatever. It was the fourth Pikmin game to be released, and surely we would have seen Pikmin 4 by now if it were a real thing.

I wonder if this means Pikmin 3 is the next Nintendo first-party game to be released. Like Paper Mario, its announcement was dropped on Twitter with no advance notice. But this game has almost three months until it launches, instead of two. It would be pretty disappointing if nothing else was coming before then. Perhaps it will be the filling in a Mario-Pikmin 3-Mario sandwich?

Just completed this in around 40 hours. It's probably my favourite new game I've played in the last 12 months, and definitely my favourite of 2020. Haven't gone for 100% but I almost certainly will with the help of some of the helpful accessories. Speaking of which, I appear to have missed some of these and I have no idea how. I also don't really get how I missed some toads/blocks/treasures after feeling like I explored each area thoroughly, so I'm looking forward to going back and finding them. The criticism around the 'battle' system is a bit misguided, in my opinion. You get coins and confetti for doing them, both of which you need constantly throughout the entire game. Coins more so. I also had a much better appreciation of the battle system as I progressed and found it to be used in more unique & clever ways. The bosses in particular are excellent. There are so many surprises to be found in this game and the gameplay is much more varied than it appears at first. As this was my first ever Paper Mario game, I would kill to play some more titles in the series now. Does anyone think there is much chance of Color Splash launching on the eShop in a couple of years? Or even getting a full boxed release?

This is essentially a Zelda game, right? But with easier puzzles, a different presentation including an incredibly witty script. I'm all for that, but now I'm really feeling like I missed out by not playing previous games in the Paper Mario series. There's a part in one of the later streams which is reminiscent of one iconic Zelda game in particular. You'll know when you get there

Why are they doing this to us? Every presentation they’re doing at the moment seems to be a huge disappointment one way or another. I can only hope they announce another Direct Mini for next week.

I’m about 7 or 8 hours into this game and it’s REALLY quite stunning. It’s my first ever Paper Mario, so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. I haven’t had this much fun with a game since Luigi’s Mansion 3. The level of polish really is top notch. I feel like I’ve missed out majorly with this series if The Origami King is anything to go by. Weirdly though, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be a big seller. At least not at launch. Hopefully word of mouth will help boost it though. First impressions online for this game, now that it’s actually out, are overwhelmingly positive.

How long is the game? I wouldn’t consider that a spoiler. It’s something I actively want to know.

Relatively late previews for this make me also think the review embargo might also be up late. Thursday 16th or Wednesday 15th July perhaps?

I'll be back playing this again tomorrow. My horrible housemate has moved out and so now I will have much more time to myself in the living room, where the Ring Fit Adventure magic can happen

Oh gosh, imagine the disappointment if this isn't a Nintendo franchise.

No game announcement this week, it seems. However, next week currently looks totally free for that, right? No big game launches, DLC, updates or anything like that. I'd be amazed if Nintendo launched Paper Mario without letting us know what's coming next, even with the Switch is selling as well as it possibly can at the moment.

Your guess is as good as mine...2D Metroid? Something Starfox-related? Other than a cameo in the floptastic Starlink: Battle For Atlas, it feels like that’s a franchise which needs to make its mark on Switch. Pikmin 3 Deluxe? The Mario remasters and/or Super Mario 3D World? It’s probably none of the above. In fact, I hope it’s something that takes us completely by surprise.

The story in this game so dull, especially if you compare it to Dragon Quest XI or even Octopath Traveler. I’m almost 35 hours in and the narrative has barely grabbed me at all. However I do love the music, the environments, the battle system and overall gameplay, and so I will persevere with it.

There is some online whispering about a potential Nintendo game announcement this week. After Paper Mario: The Origami King on 17th July the release schedule is completely empty. Something has got to be announced soon either way. I could see a Twitter announcement video for a game to come out in either September or August.

Does anyone know what time the update with Min Min will drop? I was hoping it would be here by the time I woke up this morning.

The new trailer is much more informative than the last one and answers plenty of questions. It feels like it could have been lifted directly from an E3 2020 Direct, if such a thing was taking place.

I'll wait until there are any freebies announced (like the usual key ring) before pre-ordering.

Yeah, it's a coronavirus thing. They said they want their deliveries to be more reliable, or something along those lines.
