Just finished "The End of Time" WOW, just WOW

Was about to watch it then battery on my Gamepad went low. (watching on gamepad in bed)Guess I forgot to charge it today usually get a good 4-5 eps off full charge. Must be a sign to leave it till tomorrow so. I could use my phone but Netflix is shit on my phone. Video and Audio keep goin out of sync so not gonna use that. Best go to sleep then I guess.

Well as said previously I fully enjoyed the special "The Next Doctor" loved that one, and nice to have a Christmas special in a different setting even though it was still London enjoyed it took place in the past rather than "present". Today watched "Planet of the Dead", to be honest found that one a bit average, supporting cast weren't great and the desert location felt a bit dull BUT just finished "The Water on Mars", WOW, that was awesome. Loved The Doctor struggling with his instinct to stay and experience what is going on with his morality of not interfering with major historical events. Then towards the end when he has that realisation and slight character change... equal parts shocking, scary and yet still awesome. That moment also felt like it really showed why The Doctor needs a companion, someone to help anchor him down so he won't get power drunk. The end then when he'd realised what he'd done, just a great performance too from Tennant, wonderfull. Tempted to watch the double ep "The End of Time" but gotta be up earlyish in morning..... hhhmmm

Wouldn't it make slightly more sense to do such a thing through the 3DS though? Such an app would only be needed if you already had a WiiU? So it wouldn't really be doing much to create awareness or tempt people into buying one. Or I guess they could do both so people who don't have a 3DS but have a WiiU could use it?

Wow, all the eps after the Library double ep were just fantastic. "Midnight" like a psycological horror. Just thrilling. The end when it looked like The Doctor was gonna get tossed out of the bus was just so tense. You could feel the fear and panic in the other characters. "Turn Left", wow just wow.

I always think "so when he was 20 she was 7" But hey fair play to them both Anyway watched two more eps last night when the baby woke up and wouldn't sleep so I took the oppurtunity to watch in bed on my Gamepad. Was another double ep, the one with The Library. OK pretty sure you are mis reading Shiekahs point. When he said Pretty sure he is trying to create a "does not equal" sign in the middle with "=/=" ie: SO he is saying Hardware might be bad but it is still possible to have good entertaining software, which is pretty much the situation we have. Nintendo made a big miscalculation when it came to the Wii U in that they thought the "New Gamers" and "expanded Market" they created with the Wii were still around. They assumed the Wii U would sell on the Wii brand alone and failed to consider several points that made the Wii such a success from its day one. Price and ease of accessability. With Wii Sports "non-gamers" could see it being played and would now exactly how to play without needing to be told about buttons (well to an extent, still needed buttons to get through menus of course but the main gameplay was a simple concept). With Wii U they priced it higher and somehow forgot negelected the advantage a low price point gave them with Wii. Then there was their "flagship" title of NintendoLand, the game that was meant to be Wii U's "Wii Sports" and show off the concept of their new controller. But it does translate well at all. compared to Wii Sports it's a very complicated game and you don't know at first glance what it's about. They somehow expected there to be a ton of buzz for the Wii U like the Wii dispite it lacking the two things that gave the Wii it's launch buzz. And they then made the mistake of thinking that since the Wii was so underpowered compared to it's rivals and did so well they assumed they didn't need to go all on power again. So long as the software was good does it matter how much power it has? So long as it was more powerful than the Wii that's all it would need to seem "new" they prolly thought. To an extent that is prolly true. Indeed I would agree graphical power is not a high priority for me so long as the games are good, fun and enjoyable. Which the games I have played/bought so far have been. What Nintendo have failed to understand is that 7 years on from the Wii's launch there is more required of a console these days than just good software. I'm not talking about a bunch of multimedia stuff like bluray/dvd players and TV TV TV, but they need to be able to create an online user expereince. Miiverse was a step forward but they have shockingly failed to build on that in a meaningful way, even dispite making other minor steps forward (NNID's) the overall experience is very lacking. Sure local play is great and prefered, but the reality is not many people have teh oppurtunity to game locally much anymore a reality Nintendo seem to be blind to. Not saying they should ditch local multi options but bloody hell they should be offering both. But even the online options they do offer are substandard. Look at Wii Sports Club, a game who's big selling point was meant to be "Look it's Wii Sports but it's ONLINE" Yet its online options/features are so barebones it is such a ball ache to actually play online with friends. No in game friend list, even if you check the Friend List App and see others playing the game you have no idea what they are doing? Which sport are they playing? Are they in a game right now? Are they searching for a game right now? The lack of an invite system is just shocking in this day and age. I've bought Bowling and Golf but I mainly play offline cause while I have played online with friends, setting it up can be such a pain when it really shouldn't be that it can be very off putting that unless I feel I have teh extra energy to try set something up I just go straight into a quick search of "everyone". These are the things that shouldn't be. More so these are things that should be integrated at an OS level so that they don't have to coded at software level. Oh sure you can send PM's via Miiverse, great... except the person you send it too has no idea you sent anything! A flashing blue light that can mean several different things might aswell be non-exsistant. How did they not even make different colours for different things like the 3DS does? More important how did they not even think to add on screen pop-ups to cover when a friend comes online or sends a PM. That small little thing would improve teh user experience so much. And of course the eShop and the VC, the slowness of teh drip feeding of titles on the VC is just shocking. They prolly had more stuff on the Wii VC in the same time frame. We should have so much more I do wonder who the hell at Nintendo chose this plan and wonder what they were smoking? I've seen people mention here a PS+ style service which gives access to VC games and that is a great idea and definately something I hope Nintendo are planning or maybe even starting to look at now. More so than that at the very least they should be setting thing sin motion so that if you buy a VC game on WiiU and it is also on 3DS you get both for the price of one no matter which consoles eShop you bought it on. Can they change the hardware specs of the Wii U now? No of course not. Can they uddenly announce a new console just over a year into the Wii U's life? No they can't do that either. As bad as things are for teh Wii U sales wise now all Nintendo can do is try to improve, but to make any meaningful improvements they have to get out of their bubble and embrace ideals such as online fully and create a firmware update that will give the Wii U a much better and more unified online backbone. Then there's 3rd parties. Nintendo's plan seemed to be, "we'll make good 1st party games which will help sell more consoles then 3rd parties will want to come back" But they aren't giving them any real reasons for 3rd parties to come back are they? Again they are in a bubble that needs to be popped and start being more active in courting and building relationships with western 3rd parties. We know they can moneyhat outside projects as we see with Platinum and TW101 and Bayo2, so go after some Western 3rd parties and moneyhat projects from them to create more diversity for the console. If anything one way or another this year will be very interesting as Nintendo are well and truely backed against a wall. They will attempt something, they must....the questions are will they make the right choices and have they truely and finally learned from their mistakes? Even with the underpowered hardware they are still more than capable of creating good and great software. But they need more than their own software to make the console worth while to others and not just software they need to have other features working properly and not just half assed like they have been with online up to now

SERIOUS!!!! WOOOT, had hoped they'd have a Thor character appear in that "tie-in" ep but hell I'll take it now for damn sure ggrrr... now that extra two week break is even worse, if they didn't have this new break that Sif ep would be just 2 weeks away now it's 4 weeks away

Onto ep 7 of Season 4 now (The Doctors Daughter) Really enjoying the season 4, definately better than the first half of Season 3. The first ep with Kylie Monogue was cool, shame Kylie didn't get to stay around as a full time companion. When Donna returned in next ep and I realised she was gonna be the next companion I was a little disappointed at first cause I didn't think much of her in her one and only ep i season 3 but she has been very good and better than Martha, wasn't expecting that haha. The ep in Pompey was great (though it felt weird seeing ancient Rome characters not using words like fuck, cock, arse and cunt.... I enjoyed watching Spartacus :wink: haha). Though Donna had a great moment when she was pleading with The Doctor to save even one person from the Volcano. And surprised that she convinced him, got a feeling Martha wouldn't have been able to get him to turn back... Rose might have though Just finished the double ep with the Sontarans, those guys were cool, like Klingons but small haha. Loved the reference to the double ep from season one with the Gas Mask kid when The Doctor put on a gas mask and asked the General "Are you My Mommy?" (Incidently that was one of my fav eps in season 1 too). The Ood ep I enjoyed too... though was hoping The Devil would be involved again cause that was one of my fav eps in season 2 haha. Oh and what is with the quick Billie Piper cameos, surprised as hell when she appeared at end of ep2 here, then she just vanished. Spotted a quick glimpse of her then in ep6 on the TARDIS screen. Obviously this will prolly be a running thing for awhile till the finale I guess. Can't wait to see Rose return even if it is just for a few eps EDIT Ok just finished the ep "The Doctors Daughter"... glad to see she regenerated (sans face change, yay, she be HOT)... though I just went to IMDB to see what else the actress has been in as I thought she looked familiar and spoted she's not credited for any other Doctor Who eps (not counting some animated TV mini-series where she voiced a difference character).... how has she not reappeared in the 5 years since this ep ah well

haha, cool... I was greedy my first play Made the other choice on 2nd. Ah so you're up to the DLC already, your speeding through it then. You can't get everything back during the "Mission". But once you get to the end of it you'll get all the gear back that you had so you'll start then in Singapore as normal. It is a bit of a mind frak moment alright. Especially when you first get out of the jail cell and you hear the gaurds say your eqiupment is in a room upstairs and you expect when you get there you'll get everything back. But you only get bare bones stuff back and you're like "GAME WHY U DO THIIIISSSS" In the directors comentary the devs talked about how they wanted the section to feel like a "new game" and wanted the player to be forced to go back to basics, as it with it being so "late" in the game if they let you keep everything you had to that point you'd lose some of the experience. Overall I ended up loving the whole section, one of my favs in the game actually. Make sure to do as much exploring as you can :wink: It's a big area when the boat reaches port. You can actually get an achievement for finishing the whole DLC section without using any weapons, grenades or Praxsis Kits/Points (yes no upgrading AT ALL). Seems hard but I managed it on my 3rd play...WHAT A RUSH Let us know when you finish that section and how you got on...in detail (it a big section :wink:) and what "choice" you made at the end.... it'll seriously wreck your head

He better not be messing. I expect to see a Wonderful 102 announcement just as I expect to see Hoverboards in stores in time for Xmas next year....else HELL WILL BE PAID

Finally got my Chip-In award the other evening. Bloody annoying you can only earn awards in offline play. I got a Chip-In on the first day Golf came out but it was in an online game and didn't give me the award because of it Also got the Flag-It-Down award on a different hole. I didn't think I got it as I do remember hitting the pole and having the ball land just off the hole but there was no indication that counted for the award. Was only at the end of the game that I found out I had it Also has anyone here gotten or know which hole it is you get the award "The Secret Shot"? It's driving me mad trying to find it! Wish they gave you more of a clue, even if I knew if it was a shot you had to take from the tee or is it in the middle of a hole course somewhere?????

SO that 3 episode finale to Season 3.... AMAZING The last 5 eps of season 3 really kicked things up a notch in comparison to the eps that came before. Martha even got loads better... even though it was at the end Loved seeing Captain Jack return too, thought it was odd The Doctor just abandoned him after Rose revived him... also damned at that "Face of Boe" implication I had wondered why Boe refered to the Doctor as "Old Friend" as if he met him a lot longer than the 3 times we saw them meet. The Master too was just awesome!
