Now remembering I am one who likes the Gamepad I do have to ask... What would have to be recoded if they dropped the GP and sold it seperatly? Any consoles packaged with say a Pro Controller and without a GP would just need a patch so that on startup it boots the menu to the TV instead of the Gamepad. Could also roll out that patch to all current WiiU's in an update so that you could for example turn on the console using the Pro Controller and if you had a GamePad it wouldn't turn on unless it's own power button was pressed and again the console would then know there was no GP in use and therefor put boot with the menu on the TV. I hardly think such a patch would require "considerable manpower". What else? Miiverse, so for those without a GP give them an onscreen keyboard or USB Keyboard support. The only thing they lose is the ability to draw. And then games that require the GamePad.... well that's no different than games that required Wii Motion+, if you want to play the game get the Pad simple as. It's not like there are many games that require it anyway is there? I can only think of 3. NintendoLand, ZombiU and maybe Deus Ex (don't think you can use the Pro Controller with Deux Ex) So it's not like there's a massive amount of games that would be effected.

Just had a thought about this new "3rd pillar" and QoL product. Remember when they announced the DS and it was called a "3rd pillar" to go alongside the GBA and Gamecube. It originally wasn't there to replace the GBA but in the end what happened? So lets assume for a second this new 3rd Pillar, QoL product (or whatever it is) takes off with non-gamers to the point it massively out performs sales of say the Wii U. Going into the next "next-gen" of game systems is there then a risk of Nintendo dropping the proper home console in favour of going forward with just QoL and 3DS? Granted in the case of the DS it was still a gamer focused device so it didn't matter much when the Gameboy brand/line was set aside. But if Nintendo in the future saw more profit opportunities from this QoL 3rd pillar and their "core-home console" doesn't live to expectations then what incentive do they have to keep going with 3 pillars?

Not read the full thing just the quotes HoT posted in OP and all I see "more of the same" with no real changes being made that will benefit "me the long-time Nintendo gamer" What is this Blue Ocean crap still? I thought we were done with this? It did great for the Wii, fair play but that ocean is dry and barron now. Why are they so focused on trying to regain that "casual non-gamer" market when they are starting to lose their long-term Nintendo Game loving customers? Wanting to move even further away from the Competition? WTF? Ok I didn't wantto get involved in that whole "Iwata should go" crap over the last couple of weeks, in my mind I thought "wait and see what he does"...well I've seen and now I think he has no clue! Nintendo is a video game company, you make video games, Sony and MS both also make video game hardware and software.... the only way you will not be in "competition" with them is if you stop making video games! I expected to at least see something said about moving their Online infrastructure forward, but instead we get "NNID's will do for now, we'll come up with something more "current" in teh "Next-gen"..... instead lets think of more ways to create unique local multiplayer expereinces in a day and age when most of the customers we have left are all adults and rarely have friends over to play locally.... sure we could offer better online options and let them have great expereinces but hey we have to be careful of stranger-danger afteral so lets keep our online stuff stuck back in a gen or 2 behind, perfect" I also see nothing about working with or even addressing 3rd parties (western or eastern), so are they still towing the line of "if we make good games people will buy the Wii U and then 3rd parties will wat to come back on their own?" yeah cause that plan really spike up sales to desired levels at the end of last year didn't they. All I was thinking reading this was that they are just gonna push 3rd parties even further away. Forget about getting Nintendo to get out of their little bubble it looks like they have put another bubble around their bubble instead. There had better be an ND soon with announcements of some good "core"-targeted type games coming soon, hell I better seeing something new Metroid, Zelda, F-Zero or 1080 related soon the prospects of getting even just 2 of those 4 frachises (well we know Zelda is coming but I want to see something now) is all that is keeping me interested now. Though I am kinda glad to see they are not dropping the GP, and are more focused on trying to utilise it HOWEVER that is something they should have done a year ago when they launched teh bloody thing. Hopefully this means I can has Fatal Frame 5 announed soon anyway.....(surely the perfect match for the GP)

Hold on... how did you know about that without having the augs to find it? Did you look up a guide? You were meant to be posting about how you struggled with the choice of who to save and who to let die and how cruel and evil the devs were to include such a section! I don't know if taking either of the first two choices will have an effect the Pacifist award or not. I got that award on my 2nd play but I can't remember which choice I made at that part.... It wont have an effect on Foxhound though, for that just make sure nobody sets off any alarms. Even though the guards at this point will be on alert just make sure your still never seen and you'll be fine. As for Quinn, I think he will call you at some point after the gas bit, you will be able get into his shop and get some items but it is optional and you won't get a waypoint marker for it.

OK so season 6 is fan-bloody-tastic so far, up to ep 7 now and in those 7 eps there were like 3 cliff hangers worthy of a season finale! Seriously I have some massive high hopes for the actual season finale, haha. Ok so after the awesome first two eps came "The Curse of teh Black Spt" nice little stand-alone ep. and Smith had a nice moment at the start that reminded me of Tennant when he got excited when he heard of the "demon" The ep "The Doctors Wife", very good, bit emotional too

damn that is insane. Paypal needs to be firing someone for giving out the guys last 4 card digits over the phone and GoDaddy prolly needs to be investigated over bad practice for using those 4 digits as means of identification. But also... why the hell would @N be worth 50,000? and why didn't the guy sell it already unless maybe he thought he could get a hgher offer? Oh well in that case I got tons of time haha. Anyway just watched the first 2 eps of season 6.... HOLY FRAK, BEST OPENING TO A SEASON YET! A double ep to open the season, so unexpected, and it was awesome, good enough that it could have been a finale... man that sets up this season for so much expectation I hope it doesnt disappoint Oh and I loved that Romo Lampkin!!! woot, love Mark Sheppard, just checked IMDB hoping he'd appear in more eps... he doesn't

When is season 8 due to start? I finished season 5 last night... bloody hell was that finale awesome or what. SO GOOD. Prolly my fav finale so far...well close between that and the season 4 one And watched the Christmas Special, A Christmas Carol, that was pretty good too. Gonna start on Season 6 this eveing hopefully

Nearing the end of season 5 now. Got 3 eps left according to Netflix but took a quick look at the titles and looks like the last one is a Christmas special, so I just got a double ep season finale left then. Been enjoying this second half of the season since the Weeping Angels ep, the "Dream Lord" (can't remember ep names) ep was good (though predictable), the "vampire" ep was good too and I loved the "Van Gogh" espcially the emotional punch when he brought Van Gogh to the "future". Then that double ep with Lizard People was AWESOME, loved that and the last ep I watched just now with James Cordon, another good ep Kinda gotten over my slight annoyance that Matt Smith doesn't smile as much as Tennant did when there's a crisis too so enjoying his doctor a bit more. Though I'd say when I'm all caught up Tennant will prolly be my fav of the 3 I am familiar with. Also been trying to find a way to get Netflix Canada without paying Unblock-Us or similar site/company, can't seem to find (free) DNS numbers for Canada like I do for Netflix USA, but found a new site (Unloactor) that offers same service as Unblock-US but they are in Beta at the mo and as such are offering their service for free, so signed up (luckily don't need credit card to sign up while in beta so not a scam) and tried it and I now have Netflix Canada working on my WiiU Though they only have up to season 6 of Doctor Who... who here said they had up to season 7 Well least this saves my the bother of "aquiring" season 6 by other means , now hopefully I can get through season 6 before Unlocator end their beta and start asking for membership fees

That's what I meant by my last line, pay Capcom to make a WiiU version.... sure aren't they paying for the 3DS version? Thought they had paid for some sort of exclusivity deal for the main series MH games for a few years? or are Nintendo just being very lucky?

WOHOO, pretty glad we are getting just Ultimate, when I heard about 4G earlier was worried we'd get MH4 with 4G down the line, least we are going right to the "Ultimate" version. Shame about no WiiU version though, but I'm gonna hold out for a surprise announcement in a Direct or E3 like we had with 3 Ultimate Hell if Nintendo really want to try salavage something from the WiiU they should drop the 3DS version in the west and release it only on Wii U :P

You mean the different bright colours? Good! WHen I saw those I was like...WTF? Anyway watched the next two eps last night, double ep with the return of the Weeping Angels and River Song... LOVED IT. The Weeping Angels, even though had only been in 1 ep before now have quickly become one of my fav ememies simply because of how terrifying they can be. Still gave me chills. The only thing I didn't like about it was that one scene when Amy drops the communicator and you see some of teh angels turning there heads. That took away a bit of their menece I thought which is at full throttle when there's just a flicker of light and all of a sudden they've moved. Finally learning about these cracks in time we've been getting glimpses of too, looking forward to seeing where all that leads. And seeing River again was cool and the little details we learned about her seemed interesting...though I worry did they give away too much too soon?

Has the game even got a set release date yet? Amazon have it listed but no date on all versions

Pot 1 Spain (holders), Germany, Netherlands, Italy, England, Portugal, Greece, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina Pot 2 Ukraine, Croatia, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Republic of Ireland Pot 3 Serbia, Turkey, Slovenia, Israel, Norway, Slovakia, Romania, Austria, Poland Pot 4 Montenegro, Armenia, Scotland, Finland, Latvia, Wales, Bulgaria, Estonia, Belarus Pot 5 Iceland, Northern Ireland, Albania, Lithuania, Moldova, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Cyprus Pot 6 Luxembourg, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Faroe Islands, Malta, Andorra, San Marino, Gibraltar Firstly I'm wondering how UEFA works out their rankings for seeding teams cause how the hell are we (Rep of Ireland) in Pot 2? We were in Pot 3 for when making qualifying groups for World Cup and we finished 4th, we've plummetted down the FIFA Rankings currently at 67th, so how did we move up a pot? In fact just checked FIFA rankings and all teams in pot 3 with the exception of Poland are ranked above us and at least one team in pot 4 (Armenia) is too (didn't check the rest). Are UEFA rankings that different from FIFA rankings? Not that I'm complianing, just think it is damned odd, but of course knowing we at least can avoid the likes of the other 8 teams in pot 2 is a bonus. Anyway, also it was announced that even though France are hosting Euro 2016 they will be placed in Group I (the group that will have 5 teams instead of 6) and their games in that group will count as friendlies with no points awarded for those games. That's a bit weird isn't it? Also feels a little like giving France a slight advantage in terms of the FIFA rankings, since that means they'll be playing all European teams in their "friendlies" that would be worth more points in the rankings than if they were for example unable to get a European team for some dates on their own and had to get friendlies with an Asian or African side which would be worth fewer ranking points. Also this will be Gibraltars first ever official tournament, and for political reasons can't be drawn in same group as Spain. Azerbaijan and Armenia must also be kept apart. EDIT Oh and also as Euro 2016 will be increased to 24 teams (up from 16) 1st AND 2nd place teams will qualify automatically along with the best 3rd place team. The remaining 8 3rd placers will go into play-offs. Hopefully with the new management team we should be in much better shape for this tournament (and hopefully we get a good draw), would be nice to come 2nd place an auto qualify for once and not have to worry about playoffs haha

Got offered and accepted a Job today, yay, back in employment starting Feb 10th Got a call on Monday inviting me to an interview on Tuesday, went in, thought it went well. Got a call later same day inviting me to a 2nd round interview on the Wednesday, the next day. Thought that must be a good sign if they calling me back to soon. Again thought the 2nd interview went well. And just got a call this morning offering me a job. Gonna go out now and buy some new office pants and shirts

Thought we could do with a new "Stuff Thread" to sit alongside "Funny" and "Awesome" This for things that aren't quite "Funny" and not entirely "Awesome" but that you find "Interesting" So I shall start I guess. A news report about the interent from 1981 How far we've come haha, imagine 2 hours to download a newspaper...and it doesn't even include pictures 5 dollars an hour! And look at that Dial-Up!

Watched the first 3 eps of season 5 so far. Not fully sure how I feel about it yet. First ep was really good. Enjoyed the way he met his new companion as a young girl first and then comes back 12 years later. The whole trying to save the world without the TARDIS or Sonic Screwdriver was god too. Was gripped wondering how he'd pull it off. Then the end when the aliens go away and he calls them back so he can "talk to them" and he shows them the planet is "protected", loved that 2nd ep was alright too, loved the idea that at some point in the future Britian's royal family becomes black Wonder if any of teh Royals watched the show and what they thought of that 3rd ep despite having the return of Daleks felt a bit flat For a Dalek episode I didn't get that huge sense of HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE END! that most other Dalek eps have, just felt like "hey rememebr when we killed all the Daleks well we didn't really so we can use them later down the road for a bigger story" which is grand, always expect they would return but the reasons for their return "oh one ship survived" could have just been said in that later ep when they have a bigger plan/story. Also I guess with it being set in World War 2 I felt it had more potential to be something bigger than it was. (Was hoping there would be Nazi Daleks too and both sets were actually secretly behind WW2 ) Matt Smith is alright too, different but similar. One thing though that kind of makes me think "might not be as good as Tennant" is so far he doesn't seem to smile as much. Both Eccleston and Tennant when they sensed something was wrong would get both excited and worried, Tennant especially... Smith just seems to get worried. But early days only 3 eps into his tenure, lots more to come
