We're getting four sequels to James Cameron's Avatar. yay 2 is due 2018, 3 in 2020, 4 in 2022 and 5 in 2023. Each story will be individual but be part of an overarching plot.

That would be a terrible mistake for whoever gets it to make. A Pokémon shared universe of films would be like sitting on a gold mine. It would be like making every character in Star Wars connected throughout the saga and Star Wars Story films... I didn't read remake anywhere, though. Just 'live action Pokémon film'. live action Pokkén anyone?

Been waiting for this announcement since Affleck was announced as Batman. This film better be is going to be great!

I think if they went the anime route, it'd be extremely difficult. By all means, have a similarly designed group, but I really wouldn't want something like this to be a repeat of what we've already got with him in the anime... sigh Looking around at live action anime/manga concept art, and this one from the delayed Akira film is what I'd love for this film to look like. I mean, other than the helicopter shootings missiles at the characters in a densely populated city change that guy for Mewtwo and I'm totally on board

I agree, it seems like a stretch at this point in time, but, The Jungle Book live action film exhibits the technology which no doubt they'd try to use in such a project, and Sony and WB are after whatever they can get - Sony's movie division has been spiralling for years (hence the Spider-Man deal with Marvel Studios), and WB recently stated that they're paying less attention to home grown films and more attention to potential blockbusters. We should be able to gauge the possibility (and profitability) of such a project better by the end of the year, I think, after the release of the Warcraft and Assassin's Creed films. We haven't had a good video game live action film for a while now... if ever Would love to see you as a member of the staff at one of the Labs or a cameo giving a lecture on Pokémon! ...I really, really hope they go with new original characters.

Aha, hopefully not yet Pikachu, Link, Kirby, Mario...the real dream team of our childhood fantasies! (somewhat achieved in Smash Bros., but alas) This could go so very wrong, and it could also go so very right. If the right money is invested, CGI Pokémon could look astounding! But then it's a question of where/when/what/who/why/how, and that's where I'm really struggling at the moment. I mean, where? We have six (now potentially seven) main series regions alone at the moment, do we start back in Kanto? Would it be about the generic plot of the main series games (8 gyms, Elite Four, evil team) just C+P'd onto a new format? I certainly hope not... As for when, which universe does this take place in, if any? The main series canon? Anime canon? A new shared universe canon (and thinking about it, that would definitely have potential)? What? New plot, or a game retelling? And who? Is this going to be a live action version of the games, or a totally unique story, with new characters? In my opinion, the latter, as a mixed ethnic group, would be great for fans to see, but who do you get to act as them? Do you try to get Oscar talent or relative unknowns? I mean, we all know what happens when an actor can't react to CGI acting... And who do you get to direct it? It's pretty easy for Star Wars and Marvel or DC, as these properties are old enough to be helmed by a fan. Do you go with fan vision or a great director with little clue as to what's going on? So many questions... @Serebii, what are your thoughts on this possibility?

So, as many of you may or may not have heard by now, the rights to a live action Pokémon film are being fought over by none other than Legendary Entertainment, Warner Bros. Interactive and Sony. Now, we don't have any idea as to how this would go, but my original assumption is that it would be a CGI heavy film; and, for those doubting the credibility of such a film, you need look no further than Disney's The Jungle Book, which releases today, that CGI is at a point where it can handle everything but a human. Everything in that film other than Neel Sethi's Mowgli is CGI, and the whole thing was shot on a sound stage in Los Angeles, California. This is big news for both the gaming and movie world, and there's a heck of a lot to talk about here, which I'll do my best, along with others, to keep you updated on. You can view the original report, as reported by none other than The Hollywood Reporter, a very dependable source for all things movie news, here As I've said, a lot to talk about. What do you think? Should they do it? Should they not? What region/Pokémon do they use, if an existing one? Would it be part of the main series canon, anime canon, manga canon, or a completely new movie canon, possible growing into a shared movie universe in Marvel Cinematic Universe fashion? Would it be a success? And will it lead to more Nintendo property films? I have some extremely strong opinions about it myself!

YouTube. Damn, what a mess.

Most excited for Nintendo's presentation this year. Really, really hope that it lives up to the hype. Console reveal and confirmation for some awesome first party games? Yes please. After that, PlayStation. Haven't read much into the PS4.5/PS4K stuff, giving them the tools to wow me.

Oh snap. I checked about 15 minutes in and it was 2-0, dear oh dear, poor Dortmund! first post on here, yes, I'm a Chelsea supporter, and no, I'm not from London. I've supported them since I was 3, waking up to the highlights on a Sunday morning. And I was 3 before Abramovich purchased the club (I was 3 in 2001, for the record). And yes we've had a poor, poor season. But we'll be back.

There won't be anything Episode VIIin here I'm afraid, but I've thought for a while that the final DLC expansion will be Rogue One related. Some "leaked" EA documents have done the rounds, and it must be noted that something Battlefront related turned up as a single player mode, possibly campaign (devs have also said time and time again that they're looking into the offline experience for the game). Is a Rogue One: A Star Wars Story campaign afoot? As for heroes and villains...meh. We still don't have Chewie. For the Death Star expansion I'm clueless, I mean both Ben Kenobi and Chewbacca could make sense, but what about the villain? You'd think it would be someone who was on the Death Star on some point (so not another bounty hunter...). I've got the Season Oass and it's done nothing for me so far. Actually, I don't earn Credits playing the game at the moment. Might be a glitch. But wtf with the Hutt contracts?

Urgh, third parties on the NX...they need more EA more than they like to make out. Have Nintendo taken EA's Monday morning spot at E3 yet? EDIT; never mind, Microsoft got there first. Yay?
-
I'm not undermining them because they gave it that score (and did no-one get the 7.8 Pokémon rating reference (hint: "too much water")?). But I mean, they gave vacation an 8.0, AoU an 8.6....
-
Yeah, I know right! A, 9/10, A*, A-, 10/10, A+, 100%, etc. And then there's... IGN: 7.8 too much water America
-
If Nintendo charge to play online with the NX, would you pay?
Julius replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'd totally pay, if it were similar to the PSN/Xbox Live deal. I mean, Nintendo has yet to have an online system which really lets players interact, so it would be about time. -
Just reading through these here non-spoiler reviews, with the embargo lifted two weeks out from the UK release and just under a month from US release. A, 5*, 4*, A+, A-, 10/10, 9/10... IGN: 7.8 too much water

Boy is that title going to take some time to get used to...

Right, I had high hopes for Doctor Strange. It's one of my three most hyped new MCU properties (the others being Black Panther and Spider-Man are my two others). I AM SO ON BOARD
-
As you may be able to see, I'm very (very) new to the forums. I came here in search of NX news I believe, and upon finding how kind a folk you all are, decided to stay.

This Civil War clip...is tremendous.

Yeah, I agree, and Ayer seemingly confirms so on his Twitter: #SuicideSquad "reshoots for humor" is silly. When a studio loves your movie and asks what else you want, go for it! #ThanksWB #moreaction I can't believe so many people bought into this rumours. I mean, would two weeks even be enough time to do anything of any real consequence for a major movie like this, especially considering the required sets? And whilst "woo" at The Rock being in a Black Adam t-shirt, news has really dried up on the Shazam solo movie front. Left out of that special from a month or so back and we've had two more movies added to the slate since? Either they're preparing to blow our minds or they're absolutely clueless as to what direction they should go in with such a character.

Yet another new Suicide Squad trailer has been released, no doubt to falsify the claims that the reshoots are to inject some more humour. Woo! More Batman!
