  1. At first I thought this was some CRAZY news, but it still holds true regardless. Happy 26 years of being alive newscaster.
  2. Oh yeah using it right now to do this post. This phone is awesome I've convinced someone else to get one. Showed them mine today and they can't wait. Transformers on this screen is better yes I repeat better than when I saw it in the cinema. I was grinning while watching it. Everyone needs to get one.
  3. I don't know if they've changed it since I've ordered but the way that t-mobile has it set up is that they have a specific internet plan for android devices. I will try and get some clarification though. Clarification found in the Fair usage policy: The standard internet booster is 1GB data cap. This is what you would get with blackberry and, nokia and samsung phones. The internet for android booster has a 3GB data cap which is included in the plan when you order the phone. Applies to any android OS phone as the OS relies on data quite heavily. You can't change this plan but for some reason you can remove it The data plan is in the cost of the contract. If you remove it you end up on the crappy 1GB plan as an option. Doubt you could go back as it wouldn't be in t-mobiles best interest to give you back your extra 2GB data. This frees up the additional booster to be used for something else such as unlimited texts or unlimited landline calls. You can't download market place apps and then put them on your phone. You can download non market place apps and put them on SD card if you've rooted (jail broken) your handset. If you're worried about going over your data limit you can disable 3g and enable wifi and switch them around when your away from an access point. (wifi off 3g on)
  4. Oh right sorry. I think the other networks will be getting the desire from the middle of April, so will be taking pre orders on the handset shortly. Normally if you're persistent you and force your current network provider to give you a good deal to stay, or you'll get a good deal to join a different one. Whatever you do it's best to call the providers to get the best deal, because at the end of the day you're stuck with these people for at least a year and a half. As for T-mobile's unlimited internet they have a special android data plan (which is the one that comes with the phone) which is 3GB fair usage. That 500MB that you got with phones 4u. I've had the desire for 2 days now and I've used 30MB of my allowance. I suppose 500MB will do but my usage would probably be a lot high if I had done most of my downloading over 3g instead of wifi. But if you consider everything you can do over 3g: email, youtube, flash games and video, social networking, web browsing, market place downloads, you can quite quickly expire that "unlimited internet." Even t-mobile's basic unlimited internet plan is 1GB.
  5. Nah Ash, I think you should cancel it and wait a week to get the desire instead. As for the desire it came with a PDF viewer, and then it either came with or I downloaded some office document viewing software. As for photo editor I haven't looked but there is a photoshop app in the market place. You can pretty much get anything in the market place. I know specs aren't everything but you will have a better time with the desire than the legend, especially if your on a similar contract. As for porting to vodaphone: If your already a customer they should just upgrade your account with them.
  6. Yeah I found out yesterday when it eventually told me I needed to do it from my computer. Having much app store love now. Although a few applications haven't been cleared for the HTC desire yet.
  7. Well T-mobile and orange are merging soon. The package I got on t-mobile was £129 for the handset and then a £20 a month contract. Includes 300 minutes and unlimited texts. Unlimited internet (3GB a month fair usage) on an 18 Months contract. I was contemplating leaving t-mobile especially since they were being difficult when I was trying to get the phone. But I did check out what all the other networks were doing and the only provider that came close to this deal was virgin but that would only be if you were currently a virgin media customer. The only reason I would choose orange would be for the Exclusive black HTC desire. Not to say the grey/purple one isn't nice. Whatever you decide you can easily get your PAC code and take your number with you so you don't need to mess around with "this is my new number please update your phone book" messages. Because if your friends are like me, they probably won't ever get round to doing that.
  8. Android and windows mobile. Android on the desire, winmo on the HD2. Either way you'll have more fun on either platform than you would iphone OS
  9. Between this and blur, Splitsecond is the one that I'm watching the most. Downloaded the demo seemed pretty fun. Will try out Blur next to see which one is worth getting. Split second reminds me a lot of burnout but it's not a bad game. Sense of speed however wasn't reflected very well in the demo.
  10. Ah no, no blackberry IM, I've seen it being used but outside the office I only know 2 people with BB's so I've never had a use for it myself.
  11. I would just say grab your pac code and go. As long as you can keep your number moving is easier than telling everyone you know they can't contact you on the number you used to have. I'm sure that Ofcom is trying to make it easier for people to keep their number by reducing the porting time to hours instead of days.
  12. If you need messaging the meebo app for android (maybe iphone has one too) lets you use pretty much any instant messaging service. The only thing you'll need is data access which most plans come with.
  13. Just got a HTC desire today, my first android phone and I'm loving it. Don't regret getting the phone. Don't regret the chosen platform. Only think I hate so far is the app store doesn't like my credit cards.
  14. lulz To tell the truth the officer acted in quite a calm manner compared his American counterparts. Constantly seeing stories popping up on the web about people being clubbed to death, blind people being tasered, people getting hospitalised. Fortunately we haven't got to that state yet in the UK. But the US indoctrination is strong within us.
  15. The addition of the fallen survivor and bride special infected sounds cool. I picked up the first game last week. Didn't take too long to get through it. Will be on the XB Live tomorrow if anyone is up for it.
  16. Only one I know for quality is decalgirl Although it might cost you a bit more to import than usual due to crappy exchange rate
  17. I was playing almost all evening, had a good couple of laughs too. Probably won't be having any L4D2 sessions until Thursday but will join in if anyone is up for a game around then.
  18. A great free complete antivirus solution is comodo internet security Antivirus, Antimalware, Firewall, and Active defense all in one. If you want to pay for something then Vipre does essentially the same thing, but has very low CPU usage in comparison to other AV's. ( I actually prefer comodo to vipre ) And as everyone else has said so far, norton sucks. And you may find that if you get a new pc / laptop with it installed it will protect the crapware on it from being deleted.
  19. Just found out Nujabes died last month Famous people I like now down to one.
  20. Perhaps try ebuyer mobile? Might find something good hiding in the depths: http://www.ebuyermobile.com/
  21. Scratch this comment. You've played this already. Might be worth checking the sales and picking up hits you might have missed the first time around.
  22. Although not completely related I felt I should post a YT video of what was proposed to be the Samsung p4. I think this sort of tech would be great for the 3DS. Noted it won't be as close as nintendo quote near seamless but anything like this would be great.
  23. Tried to get the desire on t-mobile. Seems like there are serious supply issues. Decided to just get my PAC code and go. Now what networks would you guys recommend? I've found t-mobiles reception to be pretty crap often with me having 1-2 bars of reception depending on where I am in the house. It could be down to my handset but I'm just after something that works.
  24. So the ova is out today. And..... I haven't done the banners yet. The problem is that created them in a CS3 version of some software and on my new laptop I upgraded to a CS4 version. Lets just say major issues. So instead of some left 4 dead 2 tonight, I'm gonna get them sorted. It's probably for the best as now there should be more artwork flying around.
  25. I haven't posted anything in a while so here yah go:
