I have the same CPU and that seems to be about normal. GPU seems hot but I know the Nvidia's like to bring the burn. Can we get a SS of your performance management? Perhaps something is eating up CPU time or munching memory. Anyway some junk about the Q6600

Hmm seems to be working fine for me. Check that javascript isn't turned off in the options menu. Tools > Options > Content.

Hear hear, I thought it was kind of cheap how they tried to bring other manufacturers into their problem, especially with their video where we don't have any source as to where the tests were carried out and under what conditions. Still for some the fact that a case is needed for general operation and not just protection is pretty lame.

It's just an anonymous message board, where I think the only limits are C.P

I don't think that is necessarily the case (no pun intended). I think it may be put in a way that these problems are known now a case is recommended. Will be fine as long as you have your receipt. Maybe get the refund and then play the system to get another one.

Not that I love apple or anything but just need to clear up the air on this. Apparently it was a third party connector for which apple has created several court cases for. Could or could not be true. Spin doctors can get away with what they like. A more pressing issue is probably faulty light / proximity sensors which mean that the handset is still fully active while it is up by your head. Regardless the conference is starting now if I find a live stream will post it up. Apparently this event isn't being live streamed directly by apple. Maybe someone out there somewhere is but here's a live blog: http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/16/live-from-apples-iphone-4-press-conference/?sort=newest&refresh=60 EDIT: Awesome say that other handsets are worse than iphone4 at everything wouldn't have seen that angle coming. Fix from apple seems to be buy a case. No chance of recall now Caris. And it is official. Everyone gets a free bumper, with a full refund if you already bought one. So my prediction was close but I missed out on fobbing off those who already bought one. But essentially I'd doubt some would still have the receipt so their screwed. Instructions are on this slide: Not good enough? And this is how you fix your downed stock price: http://www.google.com/finance?q=NASDAQ:AAPL Although now the question of health has come up it has started to fall. And they seem to be upsetting a lot of people as it has now fallen below starting day trading stock price. No refunds if you bought a case other than the official apple bumper. Video feed of the announcement: http://www.geekosystem.com/free-bumpers-iphone-4-video/

Its gonna be bumpers with enough spin to make you feel sorry for them and forget anything ever happened. Recall on 1.7 mill plus is too costly and on a margins based company it's not worth the hassle. Will be bumpers for everyone. If you already bought one then some times early adopters lose out.

I registered too but I doubt I'll be using it for serious production.

I think a really great thing is that if NE didn't want to pay the £25 developer fee the app could still be offered via the website, since apps can be installed from non market place locations. Like swype for example. I think it might just be a case of pluging in the RSS feed with some styling and app is done.

It may be possible to do an android main site app. Google recently released an app maker with a drag and drop like interface.

Ash I started with that same case. It was good for a while but then the material started warping and wasn't fitting the phone properly. Next went for a hard case but it broke after I dropped the phone on two tiled floors. Which brings me now to the gel case, has the cushioning protection of the silicon case with the structural integrity of a hard case. For further protection I slip the phone into a velvet htc pouch. Ebay around £2.99 for two. Would recommend the official htc screen protectors, a bit pricy but doesn't have any drag when using the device like other sp's

Here are a few I recommended to Ashley when he first got his. Quick list of apps for you to grab: 3g watchdog myPlayer Movies Color note Astro file manager Rings extended Zedge Worth a look: Google goggles Layer reality browser Cardio trainer Dropbox Last.fm keyring scanner Barcode scanner Metal detector Shopper Skyfire browser Snesoid Wave secure Swype What the doodle Meebo I'M As for cases I've tried them all and the clear winner is the hydro gel case. Ebay will get you sorted for around three quid.

Some of that crap that you don't want to use might be part of HTC sense. And with the case of HTC sense you need to take all or nothing. If a particular sense process is killed it is automatically restarted. Yeah there's no need to take a picture of a bar code first, not really sure how it would work under that method. Barcode and keyring scanner are two awesome apps.

Crap posted this in the wrong thread So here is what I was going to post...

Exactly therefore it remains to be a hardware fault.

Disconnect the handset from your computer. Phone will then mount the drive If that doesn't solve the problem try settings then sd and phone storage.

Need help/advice on getting a job in the I.T sector
Ten10 replied to The Lillster's topic in General Chit Chat
As it's my field I often get IT jobs for graduates by email. Often they are looking for certain skills so not having a degree won't be a deal breaker. Having examples of you work would be good. Will post some links up later. interesting thing is that 17% of IT graduates from 09 are still unemployed -
It's a hardware problem however Apple are currently trying to make it out to be a software problem. Basically they are saying that the phone is displaying too many bars, and when you pick it up and hold it the "wrong way" it starts showing the correct amount of bars. Sounds dumb to me but here is the full story: http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/02/apple-iphone-4-reception-problems-a-software-issue-fix-coming/

So for anyone with a Nexus one out there, and for future reference to anyone with a device that will eventually see the 2.2 on their phone, here are the browser extensions required to push data from your browser to your phone. For the chrome browser download the addon here: http://code.google.com/p/chrometophone/downloads/list For Firefox grab the addon here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/161941/ And for your device download the receiver app here: http://chrometophone.googlecode.com/files/chrometophone-android.apk (DIRECT LINK) Please remember this will only work with a 2.2 device. If you haven't got one then come back later.

As for swype try doing a long press in an input field and then select touch input and choose swype

Yeah same. Although I think the telegraph or guardian got official word from HTC saying that it would be with Q3. If you're looking for the manual it's stored on the SD card. You can look at on the phone by using the pdf viewer otherwise hook up the phone to a pc as mass storage. A good place for tips on the desire is: http://androidforums.com/htc-desire/ You may find me posting from time to time, mainly troubleshooting, but you'll get a better response asking here / pm. Also I'd say get a bigger SD card class 4 or higher. I've got an 8GB card. Considering going to 16 so I can have more movies.
