Is anyone concerned that with Nintendo throwing everything at Mario Kart 8 basically making it the ultimate version of Mario Kart with the amount of characters and courses available that it's going to be difficult to top it with 9. I mean, after the last DLC waves have hit, how many retro tracks will be left unused that could be included in 9 and feel fresh? Will they even include retro courses in 9 due to 8 using so many as DLC.

Only seems like yesterday I pre-ordered the Zombiu Wii U bundle from ShopTo. I was so hyped for it coming off the back of the Wii which I'd had 6 amazing years with. A full week booked off for it's launch. The launch lineup was pretty solid. I had New Super Mario Bros U, Black Ops 2, NintendoLand and obviously ZombiU all around launch. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate followed not long after and was another solid title which I put hundreds of hours into. Two third party titles (Black Ops 2 and MH3 Ultimate) with voice chat and a solid online system at launch, who would have thought. @Hero-of-Time regarding the gamepad being on charge causing a loud buzzing noise through the headsets, that was when anyone charged their gamepad and it was never fixed. That's where the problems started though, the launch window was great but then huge gaps in the release window started appearing. Mario Kart 8 was incredible and the highlight of the Wii U for me. I remember the first week of the N-E Mario Kart League where we had over 40 players signed up. Organising that first league night with 4 different hosts was hard work but very rewarding when all the results starting coming in. Unfortunately with 3rd party support completely drying up and with me now really in the mood to play more online multiplayer games after COD and MH, it pushed me towards getting a PS4 and that was the end of the Wii U being my console of choice that gen. The Wii U ended up putting me off getting a Switch until a good 5 years after it's launch. Now I have a Switch, I kinda regret holding off as long as I did but Nintendo and the Wii U let me down in a big way.

Missed out on a gaming job lot on Facebook marketplace yesterday morning which I was a bit annoyed about as sitting right in the middle of it all was Banjo-Tooie... Anyway, as I do, I was searching for N64 stuff later in the afternoon and there it is. Messaged him offering £30 which he came back with "£35?" but something seemed off , that's not the PAL version cover. Is it a repro? No, it's the Australian version. I messaged him again telling him it wasn't the UK PAL version but the Australian version and I was still interested but not at £30. Offered him £25 and he accepted. He ended up inviting me in to look at all the games & consoles he got for £140. N64, Dreamcast, PS2 slim and a few £15-20 black label PS1 games in fantastic condition. Just finished off making a custom box and insert for it. Probably redo it at some point in the future as I'm not really happy with it but it'll do for now.

Beatties was fantastic, they had this massive action force vehicle playset in the window. I wanted it but it way too expensive for my parents. They opened a second store focused on games called Virtual Reality next door to it in Meadowhall. Had a huge VR machine right in the middle, obviously with the name of the store. Best memory I have of Beatties is everyone (kids and parents) opening up the mini boglins boxes and swapping them around so they didn't get any doubles. Good times and the staff didn't seem to mind.

I've gone on a bit of a spending spree on eBay over the last couple of weeks to slowly rebuild my N64 collection. 4 of my favorite N64 games now back in my possession. There's so many more I want to buy but I'm going to hold off and buy a couple every 2-3 months. I also bought 20 empty mega drive/master system cases off eBay as well for the loose master system games that I bought earlier in the year. Printed a few covers off and I think they look pretty good on the shelf. Not as good quality as the original cases or the universal game cases but they do the job.

They interviewed someone from THQ who said it would have a deep career mode. I'd imagine the career mode will be very similar to No Mercy based on what we've seen so far.

Couldn't find a thread so sorry if one exists. Gameplay footage of AEW Fight Forever debuted at Gamescom. For 20+ years I've waited for a wrestling game to match up to the legendary No Mercy and the other AKI wrestling games. The wait might be over judging by this.

A bit too gimmicky for me. It's too hectic and I've never been a fan of the unstoppable power moves in mario sports games. If I bought it, I'd be buying it for regular 4 player N-E action and unfortunately the N-E online community is nowhere as strong as it was during the Wii/Wii U days. Also, with the lack of voice chat to communicate with your teammates, you lose a big part of the online experience so I'll be giving this a miss. I didn't have any issues during the online games. I've been very surprised by how good the online experience has been on the Switch so far.

Not played it with anyone on my friends list. Going by the online match making with randoms, I doubt there will be any issues. I am looking forward to playing golf with you again.

Put a few hours into it so far. Online is really impressive for a Nintendo game. Not had any disconnects. Once you have played 10 times of any of the sports online, a pro league points system is introduced which makes things a lot more competitive and Love bowling, tennis and badminton. Badminton is so different from tennis, very tactical. Starting to get into Volleyball now. Football is pretty much rocket league. There are limited time items to unlock for your character as well. You unlock each of these by collecting 100 points. You get at least 30 for a game of tennis.

Got mine pre-ordered this morning and booked the Friday off for a 4 day Switch Sports weekend. Any plans for N-E bowling nights?

I messaged asking what he had and he sent me some photos, next day after agreeing on some prices I bought all this for £140. Nobody had messaged him apart from me. Unbelievable luck to get this deal. and then this, a master system 2 with 21 master system games. Twenty One games. All for £140.... Crazy. I don't think I'll get a deal this good ever again.

@Glen-i do you still use my old excel file with all the templates for the league nights? God, that brings back memories. Still remember the first league night on MK8 where we had over 40 people playing. 4 hosts, making sure everyone in the groups had their hosts added as well as two people to take photos in each group in case the designated photographer got kicked. The direct last Wednesday was so good I bought a Switch 5 days later after holding off for nearly 5 years. I've always said Mario Kart 9 would make me buy a switch, the significant DLC announced was enough for me and confirmation MK9 is being saved for the successor to the Switch. Feels like the announcement of Nintendo Switch Sports has gone under the radar a bit though which is surprising given the impact the original Wii Sports had as well as Resort.

Oh yeah, As of today I now own a Switch and MK8 Deluxe.
