Oh good, so it's not just me then? I just did the minigun shooting range, mucho fun with that weapon! Wow, you must have a magical surround receiver then. Aaaaannnyway, I'm up to stage 20 and no doubt nearing the end now...

Yeah I've used headphones a couple of times with this game now, but the problem in doing so is you miss the Wii Remote sounds (which I don't normally care for much, but it's used really well in Disaster ). They can be set to play through with the rest of the game audio in the options, but it's just not the same. Anyway, audio shortcomings aside, this game gets better and better. I got up to and completed stage 12 last night which was beautiful in both visuals and story. At times Disaster has an almost Resi 4 quality to it, stage 12 was definitely one of those times...

Nice little DSi trailer here: http://gonintendo.com/?p=60291 Image quality from the camera seems more than adequate, the photo editing features look like a good laugh too. Don't get the huge emphasis on the speed/pitch controls for music playback though. The DSi Shop is easily gonna be the best thing about this system I reckon.

My copy arrived today from GAME, played through the first couple of stages so far and have been really enjoying it. The intro cut scene is incredible, totally edge of your seat stuff. :awesome: The production values aren't quite up to the same standard during actual game play, but it's still very nice indeed. Only massive disappointment for me in the presentation department is the absence of a DPLII option, completely insane for a game like this not to feature surround sound. Loving the old school arcade style giant size health pick-ups in this game, pretty damn funny seeing Ray drinking out of a can that's bigger than his head.

Brilliant. I love the Sesame Street style character design they've got going on with the NPCs in this game. There are some really cool new vids on the Japanese site too, check 'em out here: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/r64j/adlib/index.html Vids 4, 5 and 6 show game play of the Super Mario Bros, Zelda and Animal Crossing themes. Firstly how they play while using the original instruments/notes, then an improvised version with different instruments. I for one can't wait to mess with some classic Nintendo tunes, am really intrigued as to what a funk version of the Legend of Zelda theme will sound like. :awesome:

If that's true (which I highly doubt) then it seems like they're just looking for any old excuse now, I mean... Epic! Even via crappy mono YouTube vid. :awesome: The first reason NoA gave about waiting for Euro sales performance made a hell of a lot more sense.

Some new direct-feed vids: Wii Music F-Zero vid Love it! When they changed the sound to a classical style, made me remember that episode of the Simpsons when an orchestra play Insane in the Brain. I really hope the game features a lot of Nintendo tunes. Wii Music Drum Training vid Just can't wait to try this out, I got super addicted to the drum lessons in Rhythm Tengoku and this looks and obviously sounds even better! Also, is that the bassline from September playing during the lesson? Me thinks it is, awesome!

It's just one of those games that once you pick it up, you can't seem to put it down. Took me 12 hours to finish, but like I said that's without completing it 100%, only got golds on the first few stages. To fully complete the game like H-o-T has, you're looking at 30+ hours, so it's not a short game by any stretch of the imagination.

I just finished the game, great finale to it. Still got quite a few things left to do before getting 100% and all of the unlockables. And then of course there's still multi-player too. Have unlocked all of the music though. The soundtrack to this game is just perfect, I love it to bits. It's so nice to have a game feature an exclusively Latin/Funk soundtrack, (2 of my favourite music genres) and it fits in with the style of the game so well. Hats off to the musicians behind it!

So you're telling me that every single time you've made a gesture while playing Wii Sports boxing, that a punch has been thrown in the game accordingly, it has never not responded to the movement, not even once!? I'd be seriously amazed if so. I've played the game with numerous people and they've all encountered / commented on how it can fail to recognise punches at times. At the end of the day that doesn't mean they're not doing it right, (it's a pretty straightforward movement to throw a punch ) it simply means the controls aren't responsive enough.
-
Agreed. That's not to say Wii Sports boxing wasn't fun, but it ended up being more of a freak-out session, rather than a controlled experience. The boxing mini-game in WarioWare: Smooth Moves was loads more responsive, so I'm hoping Punch Out!! Wii will follow suit.

How times have changed ey? Anyway, they've got a sale from me for sure, this game looks awesome. Euro site is now live: http://nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/games/wii/disaster_day_of_crisis_9381.html

This looks bloody fantastic. And that theme tune... so catchy! I wonder if the tapping mini-games in WarioWare: Smooth Moves were the inspiration behind it?Quality way to expand the idea anyway.

Apparently it'll be sold alongside the DS Lite, for those that still want GBA functionality. While watching the translated version of the conference yesterday, every time the translator said "DSi" I kept being reminded of Ali G going "aye!" They shoud so get him to advertise this thing... "Yo check out dis wicked new gadget, da DSaye!!"
-
Get out. They better keep Mp3 support then if that's the case. Also, how cool would it be if this was Wii Speak compatible? I'd go as far as to say it's a must actually. Yeah, would love for it to be 4 player over Wi-Fi, with voice chat and for there to be some kind of multi-player objectives. That's all that was missing from the first game in my opinion.

http://www.n-europe.com/news.php?nid=12416 Damn, that's seriously annoying that Nintendo is not publishing the game outside of Japan. Wait a minute, does that also mean we wouldn't get... Noooooooooooooo!
-
Looks great. Wow, so much cool new stuff from this conference. Shame Nintendo didn't do this thing immediately after E3, would have saved themselves so much hassle.
-
This was hilarious... What the hell is it though? Anyway, I was surprised with just how similar the DSi looks compared to the Lite at first, but obviously the new features more than make up for that. Loving what they've done with the interface, making it more like Wii. And is that an Excitebike graphic equalizer during music playback?: Genius.
-
Now that would be an expensive set-up! Bloody cool though. :awesome: Anyway, Motion plus or not, as long as it's nice and responsive that's all I care about. The controls in Wii Sports Boxing really let it down so I hope they've worked things out for this. Can't wait for more info.

Told ya.

Did they actually play it though? Anyway, their loss at the end of the day. Once you start playing de Blob, the chance that you'll "put it away" is somewhere between slim and none. Trust me.
-
I just did a 100% painted run on the first level, got through it all really quickly but at the end was left with 1 tree, which took me such a long time to find it was unreal! Was so relieved when I found it. Yeah you can free paint on any stage once you've played it on story mode. It's nice and chilled out.
-
That's a huge shame about the sales, really hope it picks up. Has there been any TV advertising for it? I think it's the kind of game that could do well in the casual market too, but they need to get the word out.

Dazzybee and Ramar, take it to PM's please. Hehehe! That is brilliant.
