Set to launch on March 30th in Japan, the Wii MMO will be expanding to players of Nintendo's new HD system. This enhanced version of the game will include updated visuals as well as Wii U Gamepad support. The beta test for this version is scheduled to begin on March 6th. The game itself will come priced at ¥6,980, or downloaded at half off at ¥3,490 for those who previously purchased the original Wii version. A special black Wii U hardware bundle is also being prepared. It will include a copy of the game, the system, a Pro Controller, a ¥1000 Nintendo pre-paid card, and an in-game item code all for ¥42,000. General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Wii replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
This is brutal and it's a self perpetuating problem. No games = no console sales and vice versa. It's not just that sales are bad, they're also creating a bad image with the public. Poor launch, slow OS, bricked consoles, gimped ports, eShop 18+ purchases restricted, lack of 3rd party support, sparse release list, poor audio connectivity, no analogue triggers, no VC, perceived weak specs, no killer AAA+ title, no advertising, delayed games, etc, etc, etc. What is the point of a years head start if you make a total balls of it? -
Wynands Says ‘One Or More Of The Big Three Will Drop Out Of The Console Market’ Mario Wynands, a Sidhe dev, believes that one of more of the big three will end up dropping out of the console market by the end of the next-generation. Wynands previously stated that the Wii U is in serious trouble and that next-gen will fail. He followed this up by telling Now Gamer that the market can not sustain three dedicated game consoles. Wynands says that the video game industry is hostile enough to the traditional console and so he thinks that one or more of the big three will drop out completely. Here’s his thoughts on the video game industry. “In my opinion, the market is now unsustainable for 3 dedicated game consoles, much less the myriad of new players jumping in. Indeed, it might not be sustainable for any dedicated consoles.” “The environment is hostile enough to the traditional console that I think one or more of the big 3 will drop out completely, but I’m expecting all 3 to make losses without radical change to their business models (hence my calls for revamping of their digital offerings).” “This new generation is arriving with all the challenges of the last generation unresolved in terms of low margins on hardware, high development budgets, limited shelf space, used commercial game sales, piracy etc.” “On top of that they arrive facing increased competition for consumer attention via smartphones, tablets, and a resurgence in PC gaming.” http://www.nowgamer.com/news/1808377/nextgen_industry_not_sustainable_for_xbox_720_ps4.html

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

Those Dragon Quest numbers are beastly. Besides the 3DS sales which are brilliant, the rest are embarrassing. For new hardware you'd expect better from Wii U and Vita. -
The answer is a definite yes to both of your questions. It's absolutely brilliant. I'm playing it at the moment on the Wii, it was in anticipation for Legends before the announcement of the delay and it only served to heighten my interest more. Buy Origins now, you'll love it.

Aliens: Colonial Marines - Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen
Wii replied to gaggle64's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I think it's just 1 of the many glitches within the game. -
For my sins I own the Wii U. I've owned every Nintendo console on launch day bar the NES(I bought it later). I said long before it launched that it was in trouble and that's turned out to be the case. I've never been pessimistic about a Nintendo console before but this is screaming off Dreamcast vibes. Just because I'm a Nintendo fan doesn't mean I have to praise their every action. It even won me an award. The same goes for religion, I'm a Catholic but I still give the Catholic church a hard time when it's deserved and that's plenty.

@Rummy Did you think Skyward Sword was a good Zelda?
-
No, that's just silly. The obvious and intelligent solution is to chop their arms off.

Tesco are $h!t in so many ways. I think I remember eating their lasagne about 2 years ago. It was a swimming pool of gunk. Now I think when I read the back it said 4% beef. It's sold with the label beef lasagne. So while they might be finding for example 40 or 60 % of the meat is horsemeat, it's practically nothing in real terms. Even if it was 100%, it's still only 4% overall. Besides it can't be that bad tasting, horsemeat that is, as nobody could tell the difference.

I've found a positive review but then look who reviewed it. http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2013/feb/12/alien-colonial-marines-game-review 4/5 stars Edit: Another positive review. http://www.forbes.com/sites/carolpinchefsky/2013/02/12/review-aliens-colonial-marines/ 8/10 Can you really trust newspapers for reviews though? These reviews fly in the face of dedicated gaming sites. I think I have my answer. Carol Pinchefsky, Contributor I mean business about science fiction and geek culture. FAIL! -
I've changed the images now. The original links have crashed or been removed.

Aliens: Colonial Marines - Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen

With the release list being so sparse the Wii U needs every quality title it can get its hands on. It looks at this stage, that unfortunately this game can be crossed off peoples lists. -
Some of ye people are vile. Eating cat, dog, human meat? Disgusting!
-
@Retro_Link Thanks for correcting the Wii U logo.
-
Yes I seen that but I couldn't change it. Don't know how.

Former Gearbox dev says Aliens: Colonial Marines development was a trainwreck, primary dev done by TimeGate Coming from superannuation... Ex-Gearbox dev in May 2012: "I am expecting [Colonial Marines] to be average at best." Also said "development of that game has been a total train wreck," and Gearbox only was handling multiplayer, with TimeGate as primary dev. Here's the full statement from that ex-Gearbox dev... Hate to say it, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too high for Colonial Marines. I used to work at Gearbox, and the development of that game has been a total train wreck, going on what, 6 years now? Gearbox isn't even making the game, except for the multiplayer. Primary development was outsourced to TimeGate Studios, which has a less than stellar past. I hope it proves me wrong, as I still have alot of friends still working at Gearbox, but I am expecting it to be average at best. Seeing the early review scores for the title certainly makes it seem like there's some big trouble with the game. Maybe I won't be holding out for that Wii U version. http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=196001 -
The 90′s Arcade Racer confirmed for Wii U eShop, Nicalis publishing Following the game’s success on Kickstarter, Nicalis has confirmed plans to bring The 90′s Arcade Racer to Wii U. The company will also handle digital distribution responsibilities for the Windows, OS X, and Linux versions, and newly confirmed iOS and Android releases. Creator Antonis Pelekanos said: “There was a simple reason why I started this project, ‘What if a racing game with old school principles was built using today’s technology’. I know we can achieve that goal. Working with Nicalis, we can release on more platforms, including Wii U. Nicalis will also support with Unity programming, physics, tuning and general design and production of the game.” Pelekanos, also known as Pelikan13, previously hinted at a Wii U version of The 90′s Arcade Racer. It’s nice to know that the game will indeed be heading to the eShop! Source: Nicalis PR

You'll burn in hell for that blasphemy.

That was bad. How can a team dominate like that and still end up losing 2-0? West Brom had their 1st shot after 80 minutes. Not their 1st shot on target, their 1st shot of the game. It's just one of them nights.
