Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Yeah, that picture is awesome. I am quite happy with those graphics, no matter what anyone else says. I'm 25 and I play games since 1989 and it kind of saddens me how shallow the younger gaming audience is today, all they care about is the graphics. Reading the System Wars forum on Gamespot for instance is very disheartening. But kind of amusing at the same time. -

OoT's field? On horse it takes less than a minute. On foot, about 2 minutes if I remember correctly. And you can run (yes, run, no horses involved) from Lake Hylia to the top of Death Mountain in less than 5 minutes. And you have to do it (well, not really have to, it's a side quest) in order to deliver the eye drops the mad cientist makes to Bigoron. So basically, that's crossing the entire OoT world in less than 5 minutes by foot. EDIT: I guess we have at least one reason to thank Nintendo for not having HD: I don't even want to imagine Tingle in HD!! Or that giggle in 7.1 sound!! -

Man, the disc will be in your Wii, what does it matter? And btw, I only just noticed... did Nintendo drop the Seal of Quality thing? -
Why do you consider the sword play gimmicky? Am I to assume from this that no game could ever have sword play in the whole of the Wii's life, because it's gimmicky? EDIT: Mind you, I also don't have complete confidence in Red Steel yet. I want to wait for more reviews, especially online, and of course until I play it myself.

As far as I know N64/NGC has always called a game by its true colours. If a game sucks, they'll say so.
-
What the guys mean is that N64 Mag implemented a system later on where past review scores were reviewed themselves on a scale from 1 to 5, based on what they were worth in the "present". Turok's 94% scored a 2 about two years after. Maybe you don't remember that feature... Zelda, Mario, GoldenEye were some of the games that kept their scores, getting a 5 on that scale.

All I wonder is how in the good name of fuck does a magazine (a European one, I might add) has a review of a Wii game and no Internet site (including Americans) has them.....

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Goddamn, this thread moves at a breakneck pace! Yep, I haven't seen these new videos (only the 5 second ones) and I won't. And of course I'm hyped. Don't worry, it'll happen again. I went exactly through this in 97/98 with OoT and it's happening again now. Mark my words, it WILL happen again with the next Zelda, or the one after that (since WW didn't generate nearly as much hype). -

I have been playing Wind Waker since tuesday and I think the music is awesome. And the opening movie is pure legend magic. People today are too spoiled by graphics and sound... -
I never had rechargeable batteries. but from what I«ve read about them on the net, they seem to always be of 1.2 V, and that's a lot less than the regular ones, which are 1.5. And when your normal batteries run out, it's usually cause they've reached about 1.3 V... So do the math and I think 1.2V batteries won't do the trick... But like I said, I never used rechargeable batteries for anything, so I don't know much about them.

Usually, the cable that comes with a console is the composite one. You know, the yellow, white and red one. And I think Nintendo have already said that the Wii will come with composite, as usual. RGB and component have to be bought separately. In order of picture quality, it goes like this: Composite > S-Video > RGB > Component. So that's why people always want the component one. If your tv doesn't have component plugs (I bought mine in 98 and it doesn't have them), the best you can get is RGB. Besides, here's confirmation it will be a composite cable, you can see it on the table on the pic that has the Wii all set up. http://www.gamespot.com/pages/profile/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-24751789&user=adolfobaja

Well, in the middle of all this piss taking, let me say something a bit more serious. It should be something about power consumption for the Wiimote and nunchuk. Except that doesn't classify as "Big", really... But it would be nice to have some sort of rechargeable battery, like cell phones. I don't really like the idea of replacing AA batteries every other week...

IGN Weekly 30 with 10mins of Wii interface direct feed!
... replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I think a 2 GB SD card should do the trick. -
RE4 doesn't need to be remade. Now RE2 with REmake type graphics I'd have loved to see on the GC. It's not gonna happen anymore but it's one that I'd love.

Front Studios revealed to Wii-x2 that they're currently working on several Wii projects. Developer Front Studios revealed to us that they're currently working on several Wii projects. One of the three titles revealed to us was a title already discussed in the past: Sadness. In co-production with Polish developer Nibris, Front Studios are working on Sadness for the Wii console. Although the game was one of the first games announced for the platform, Front Studios stated that the title is currently planned for Q2 2008. Gamers looking out for this title will have to wait a little longer than expected. Ah fuck!

IGN Weekly 30 with 10mins of Wii interface direct feed!
... replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Actually you can download them, but you'll have to wait a few days to be able to. If you notice, the previous IGN Weekly's can be downloaded. I suggest everyone downloads No 27, it has 5 minutes of Matt just showing off the Wii from all sides and all its ports. He takes it off the stand and puts it on its side, you can see how it looks very up close. Teh Sexyness. -
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Discussion
... replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Well, I have just now placed an online order for this game... Yes, just at the end of the GC life cycle. Anyway, I figured I had to play this before TP and I've been postponing it for too long. Lately I've been really craving for a goddamn Wii and it's still more than a month away. I haven't anticipated a console like this since 1997 and the N64. I finished Eternal Darkness last week and started playing Second Sight but that game is boring... Turned out quite differently from what I expected and it disapointed me... So this november I'll be playing Wind Waker. And in december.... well, you know what. -
Man, this sure is the best magazine out there, IMO. Actually, I have not yet read it since it's called NGamer but I know the mag since 1997 (nigh on 10 years!) when it was still called N64 Magazine. It was the best back then and I don't doubt it's still the best today. Sadly, I have never seen NGamer on sale here in Portugal (my area anyway) although I have searched for it many times in different stores in my area. I'd like to take the opportunity to ask any portuguese forum colleagues if any of you has seen the mag in portuguese stores.

It was not an exageration, I really mean it. And you're correct on the wetting myself part, I already did that with the trailers so the real game will probably give me a heart attack upon boot up. In fact, that may happen as soon as I touch the Wiimote for the first time.

Eternal Darkness Help*possible spoilers*
... replied to Sub-Parable's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Yeah, I know. When I said I had trouble loading the 7 point spell, it was right near him. You see, my first strategy was to first kill the 3 zombies and then run right up to under the God's belly and there load the spell. It doesn't work. I didn't even remember he stomped you, hehe. Anyway, compared to Metroid Prime or Meta Ridley this boss is a piece of cake. -

Not really, once you figure out what to do and most importantly how you can do it. -
Eternal Darkness Help*possible spoilers*

Hi there, I just finished Eternal Darkness for the first time about 30 minutes ago. Without reading any FAQs or guides I managed to find all 3 coloured Effigies. The game has awesome mood, I especially loved the soundtrack and also most of the cinematics are ace, but I found the ending a bit disapointing.... When I finish a game I like to see a grand and long end sequence. Oh well, it's still an awesome game. And a lacklustre end sequence hasn't done any harm to the masterpiece that is Metroid Prime, so I guess I'm just being picky. This is one of the truly obligatory GC games for any "real gamer". It has everything you'd want, great atmosphere, great story and THE best voice acting I've ever heard in any game ever! I mean, these actors truly give an impressive performance throughout, you feel the characters. Wholeheartedly recomended (even though I reckon everybody in this forum has already the game...). -
Firing with the nunchuck? Are they insane?
