Well, if you haven't lied about your age on your profile, that's how I know it... -

That's weird, I see a grey console on a white table. The table and the console are definitely not the same colour.... -

I know exactly how you are feeling, I was more or less your age when Ocarina of Time came out after a year and a half of anticipation and reading about it in magazines (N64 Magazine of course). -

My favourite Wii, like I said a while ago (and to which I received some nasty comments, I don't know why...), is the grey one as in the picture on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii I would very much like to get a grey Wii, I like grey Nintendo consoles. I'm kind of a nostalgic. -
I got GameCube with Zelda wind waker today!

Hell yeah, it's a great decision! I also played MGS for the first time on the Cube and I loved every minute of it. Get it. I would also recomend Resident Evil Remake, Resident Evil 4 and.... Metroid Prime. If you say you don't like Metroid Prime, you're wrong. -
This right here is the main gameplay problem with Wii FPS games. They HAVE to find a way of making turning and pointing up and down easy, since the crosshair is free moving across the screen. I can think of nothing worse than being shot at by an enemy off screen and not being able to point the gun at him fast enough. That sort of reminds me of GoldenEye where you actually got shot during the pause animation (looking at the watch).

Just watch the first 15 seconds of the video posted on "05/26/2006": http://media.wii.ign.com/media/748/748589/vids_1.html

What part are you talking about? I don't recognize the description he made, of an enemy that no visor shows.... It's been a while since I played the game, but I'll say I had no major problems in finishing it. It's a challenging game (the way it should be), but not as hard as some paint it.

Well, not owning consoles from other brands the GC allowed me to finally experience two of the best games ever created: Resident Evil Remake and Metal Gear Solid. And also Metroid Prime. GC to me is basically those 3 games. RE4 has much intensity but doesn't have a tenth of the atmosphere any of those 3 have. I still haven't played Zelda Wind Waker, though. It was also the first console which I started affording myself, the console and the games, since I didn't work in my N64 days (well, I did in the summer but it's not really the same).

I played Ocarina of Time right when it came out in December (or late November) 1998 and I am still amazed at its graphics today. But I can understand someone who sees it for the first time now to think they're crap, but to me the graphics are still ace. Hyrule Field and Lake Hylia are gorgeous. People who complain about the controls I think it must be because of them playing it on the GC. I have never played it on the GC but I imagine it must not feel very right... Especially the joystick. The N64 joystick is completely different to the GC one. I actually think the N64 joystick is superior (though it wears out more, that's probably why they changed it.

No, it actually doesn't really have that "Maiden sound", but then again neither did Paschendale and that song is brilliant. Of course Benjamin Breeg is inferior, and was not much impressed by it. Iron Maiden used to be about time changes, nowadays they manage to make 8 minute tracks with the same riff over and over.... and that's disapointing. Still, I will buy the album since Maiden are one of my number 1 bands.
-
Yeah, well, that's no difference at all in my book, if you get my meaning.

King Boo, I forgot to mention, but I'll do it now: people have also been saying for years that each new Nintendo console is going to be their last. So there ya go.
-
People have been saying this for years, but I truly would like to know where the fuck you got this from. Nowadays, apparently, every album Maiden make is their last or second to last... Stop saying shit like this when the band themselves scream with all their lungs that they still have plenty of music left in them. Nothing personal, King Boo. And it's true, you can't beat their older stuff. BNW might be good and hardly old, but it's no Powerslave (best ever!), Iron Maiden, Killers or Number of the Beast.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

I like the fourth one, not really because of what it is, but because of what it seemed to be to me the first second I looked at it. It looked as if the village was crossed by a river and Link was in a boat, kinda like Venice. It would be awesome if some 3D Zelda game featured a village like that in the future. -
Yes, Eternal Darkness was scheduled for the N64 for about 1 or 2 years, I craved that game so much at the time. Then it was moved to the GC. I still don't have it. Actually, my brother brought a copy home today, that a friend of his was selling, but the disc is in such a poor shape that i just might return it. Damnit, I dunno what the hell these people do with their discs, do they wipe their asses with them? Do they use them as bases to put their beer bottles on? Fucking idiots, all my discs, be them games, DVDs or CDs, are in as new condition.

Second Sight was the last game I bought, about a month ago. I played through the first 2 levels and a bit of the 3rd and then never picked it up again... It suffers from the same problem GoldenEye did (afterall it's from the same people), the enemies DON'T stop coming out of nowhere, I hate that. What can you tell me about this game?

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
... replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The boss from the Water Temple in MM IS easy, the timing for what you have to do is what's tricky in that fight. But no big deal. Ironically enough, I think the first boss is the hardest in MM. Even now, 6 years later, I find that fucking boss a chore. Haha, this made me laugh. Lucky for us it wasn't a giant crab. Also, I would like to advise people NOT to use guides for OoT, Water Temple or not. I played that game in a time when I didn't even know guides existed. True I got a bit stuck in the Water Temple at the time and it was exactly the same that kav82 said. But all you have to do is watch the water raising and dropping cut scenes carefully and you'll see it. Man, I remember even today the first time I spotted that cut scene! I felt so stupid for not having seen it before but at the same time so rewarding. The funniest part is that all my mates were stuck in the same part! I'd say it's the only tough part (or key) of that dungeon or at least the toughest. The trick to complete the Water Temple is to do the maximum amount of stuff before changing the water level. The Temple's main room, before you venture beyond it, has four sides so explore each of those four sides at each of the three water levels. That's about all I can say without spoiling anything. -

It's my least favourite. Just because it feels like deja vu because it repeats the Well themes and music. Whenever I play OoT I always find it a chore to do both the Well and the Shadow Temple. Ganondorf and Ganon in OoT are absolute classics. I find Dark Link very boring, you just hit him with the hammer over and over and he dies (he doesn't block or counter-attack the hammer).... not fun. But the environment is magical. MM has probably the worst boss battles ever. However, the boss from the Snowpeak Temple has its fun factor, for some odd reason. I haven't played the other Zeldas, only the N64 ones. -

I am from Portugal, like you Shino, and I have the golden cart of Zelda MM. My OoT is the regular grey cart though. My favourite dungeon out of OoT is the Forest Temple, I can't explain why. I know Spirit Temple destroys it in artistic style and graphics, but I just prefer the Forest Temple. In MM the best is of course Stone Tower. If you think it's eerie in the begining, wait until you get to "the second half". You're in for one of the most genius dungeons in gaming history. Once you see the complete picture and what they did, it cannot be denied. -
It's "euphemism".

About the save points in Metroid Prime (I only played the 1st one, haven't bought 2 yet), I see so many people complaining about them being so scarce and too far in between... Err, I really don't feel this is true. I mean, well, if you're the type of player that likes to have 5 or 10 minutes sessions of playing, then I understand this feeling (Metroid is not for that kind of player anyway), but for people dedicated to playing the Prime games, I think the save points are perfectly judged, they are actually very abundant (this is especially true in Phendrana Drifts). What are you people's opinions on this matter? Especially players who like to immerse themselves in the game atmosphere and world. I also loved the scanning element, it makes it that much more cerebral and exploratory.

Your current "I need to get back to" List
... replied to Stocka's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Yeah, me neither. Difference is I don't plan to go back to it. IMO, Sunshine was a huge letdown. To get all the blue coins, you need to explore each level on every episode... And in my opinion that's a major flaw in the game's design. Mario 64 also was divided in various episodes, but you didn't need to exaustively explore the same area 7 or 8 times to accomplish one objective. -
You mean you have Perfect Dark for 6 years and never played it? lolol
-
I'd be very surprised if those guys were still there, actually. YOu know why? Because they're all names from the N64 Mag days and it would be surprising if they'd still be there 5/6 years later.
