  1. That's impossible, Boo's not playable in the N64 games.
  2. So @Dcubed suggested that I make a seperate thread for this, so I have. Every Friday, at 8pm BST, I'm hoping to get together three other people to play one round of Mario Party. I'm thinking that it'd be great if over time we end up playing every N64 board by the end of this. Every game will be 20 turns, which usually takes a bit over an hour, so plan accordingly. You'll need an NSO Expansion Pack subscription to take part in the N64 titles. In the case of less then 4 people joining, the CPU's will be set to Normal, and one of them will be Luigi, because I said so. If more than 4 people want to play, then a queue will be formed, with the person who has played the most games so far being swapped out for the person in waiting. In the case that more than 1 person has played the same amount of games, then the person who placed the lowest in the previous game will be swapped out. So with that, the first week will be on... Mario's Rainbow Castle A relatively simple board, this. Use the junctions well to time your arrival at the center platform so you can buy a star from Toad! But don't make the mistake of getting there when Bowser is present, or else you'll lose... hang on. *checks notes* FORTY COINS!? What the hell!? This is supposed to be the easiest board! Why is it so harsh!? Current Players Glen-i - Yoshi DCubed - Wario BowserBasher - Mario Yes, I'm claiming Yoshi before anyone gets a chance. I'm hosting the damn thing! So there! And it totally matters! Shut up! Fair Warning. Mario Party 1 is notorious for having mini games that involve rotating the control stick as fast as possible. This will ruin your Joycon, and I can't remove them from the pool of games. I highly recommmend using a more durable controller (Such as the N64 controller) if you plan on playing.
  3. Picture this. It's January, Legends: Arceus has been officially released, everyone at Game Freak gets together for the after launch party. But suddenly, the boss of The Pokémon Company kicks the door in, incandescent with rage! "WHY THE FLYING F*** IS CHARIZARD NOT IN THE GAME!?" Everyone immediately points to Bill, who has just realised that his little gambit for Pokémon diversity has backfired horribly. "Well, sir, we thought that it would be nice to feature a less featured fire starter for once. That way..." Bill's reasonable explanation is cut short by a slap with the force of a million exploding suns. "Patch it back in!" Billy (Yes, a different person, you don't know about Bill and Billy from Game Freak?) chimes in, saying that the team are focusing on Scarlet and Violet now, and it's too late to program one Pokémon into Legends. Bill's fate is sealed, and he's immediately fired. The Pokémon Company boss departs with one final warning. "Don't let this happen again." Panic sets in, the whole team is aware that they have omitted Charizard from the Paldea Pokédex, because, let's face it, they have been shilling it a bit much lately. But Billcifer (Yes, really) brings calm to the team with his following words. "We still have time, we can fix it" So ends our tale. Yes, I did just want to point out that the bloody thing isn't even in the actual game, and still nicks the spotlight!
  4. Wait, what about + or -? Isn't Start the default setting for that? Anyway, I'm thinking of getting a Mario Party 1 session going this Friday. You lot complain about online Mario Party needing to be a thing (and then proceed to completely ignore my requests for online Superstars), so it's about time some of you put your money where your mouth is!
  5. Couldn't you get around it using button remapping? I can't remember if the C buttons are completely necessary in the first two games though. That might scupper plans.
  6. Playing on my N64/Game Boy. Your fatal mistake was assuming I listened to any kind of contemporary music when I was under 10.
  7. I... Don't know what that is. Your music references are proper wasted on me. Anyway, new trailer in just under 24 hours (2pm BST). You know, in previous generations, I would've said I'd rather not see anything else so close to release, but nah. I need anything that will reassure me this won't be a bit crap in the overworld department.
  8. Credit where credit is due, it looks like the most engaging open world I've ever seen. Mainly because of the speed at which you travel. Granted, most engaging doesn't say much when the standard for everything else (Except Octopath Traveler) is "mind numbingly boring". But hey, good for you, Sonic!
  9. Oh, there's a reason for that. You should try checking the graves. EDIT: It's also funny that you tout Avalanche Abassy from the first Xenoblade as the hardest boss in the series, because with the right setup, all you need to beat it with no damage is one Level 99 character who can break, and Reyn, doesn't matter what level he is, he can totally stunlock it to death by himself, even at level 1! It's hilarious!
  10. Artwork and background. The treasure chest form is Ghost Type and has the Rattled ability. No word on if the roaming form differs. The antique aspect is one I didn't consider, that's a bit more sensible then. According to @Serebii, they've started showing up in Pokémon GO, but you can't catch them there. Relieved it's not quite the same as Meltan, I don't wanna have to bum off of my cousin if I can help it. That was annoying.
  11. I'm sure this a reference to something, but I have no idea what, and explaining the joke is the worst thing to do, so I'm gonna leave that. Anyway, weird that Pokémon decided to do a more traditional Mimic. I feel like treasure chests are a bit out of place in the setting. A mimic Pokémon that disguises itself as a chest of drawers would be funnier and more fitting.
  12. Foongus and Amoongus from Gen 5 did it as well, playing on the more detailed, but still top down perspective, of items in the overworld. Of course, no-one remembers because Gen 5 unjustly continues to be the worst selling mainline games.
  13. Only if you're planning on doing really tough stuff like Challenge mode or the LV 100+ Superbosses.
  14. Afraid I won't be able to take part tonight.
  15. Generally, you get 3 rounds of Chain Attacks with the main 6's Chain Orders. After those 3, it'll end. You can see how many you have left on the bottom right. (The Chain Attack Guage) However, if you choose the Hero's order, then that doesn't deplete the Chain attack guage, effectively giving you an extra round. Now, to get the Ouroboros attack, you need to choose two characters that form an Ouroboros form. So you have to choose Noah and Mio's orders to activate their one, etc. You mentioned that you aim to choose Noah, Lanz, and Eunie. There's your mistake. Once three of the main 6 characters have used their order, the Chain ends if you haven't used 2 characters that make an Ouroboros. Ideally, you can get 5 rounds if you do it right. For example, a perfectly executed Chain will have something like this with the Order selection. Noah - Hero - Eunie - Mio - Ouroboros Notice how Mio is the last character before the Ouroboros Order? You want to delay the Ouroboros attack as long as you can to maximise the damage you do. Of course, if it becomes impossible to get the TP to 100 at any point, the Chain will end prematurely. But you knew that already. Just keep track of how many rounds you've gone, whether the Hero has given you an extra round and aim to choose the second character in an Ouroboros pair when you're about to run out of that guage.
  16. You fool! What are you doing!? Don't go sharing that around! We finally get to use all those pro strats upon unsuspecting online opponents, and you blab about them immediately!?
  17. Afraid I won't be able to make it this week. You'll have to take over hosting duties.
  18. Super Mario Party has a similar warning for Tug O War when they idiotically brought that game back. You got 10 Mario Parties worth of minigames and you choose flipping Tug O War!?
  19. I'm amazed you didn't just use the Absol you already have. No matter what two starting Pokémon you choose, Absol fills a typing slot none of them can hit, it's got a great ability and has moves like Quick Attack for backup shenanigans. It's also stupid useful in the dungeon after that fire dungeon you mentioned, there's Ghost Pokémon there and having a Dark type is helpful.
  20. Heavy Guard and Tactician are kinda rubbish, the rest do have some use. For what it's worth, Ogre is absolutely amazing purely because it's the only class that has a skill which makes it easier to Break. Anything else has to rely on a precious accessory slot for that. I used it in the challenge fight I mentioned. Swordfighter is also very good, but only if the player controls them. The AI isn't too hot at cancelling. Medic Gunner and Zephyr are fine as well, but get outclassed by later jobs using their Master Skills.
  21. It's funny, Xenoblade has always had a problem with healer characters being a crutch that only hinders you in the endgame, but here, it's Defenders. With the right arts and skills, Incursor and Full Metal Jaguar are way better dodge tanks then any Defender could hope to be!
  22. Time matches tonight at 8pm. EDIT: I'm afraid I'm not gonna be able to make it tonight. If the two of you want to go ahead, then do just that.
  23. Credits have rolled for me. Ended things at level 87. Yeah, this is the best Xenoblade and is in the running for my Game of the Year. It gets so much right. The world, the side quests, the battle system, Eunie. It all mixes together to be something real special.
  24. I'm really puzzled how that last one happened.
  25. Player's Choice tonight at 8pm.
