@Ugh first aid and I have been messing around with Relay Trials, and it's interesting. One person starts a "Rout Enemy" map with 5 of their units, and has 2 turns to make as much progress as possible. Once those two turns are up, that person is forced to pass it on to another player, who adds two of their own units to proceedings and gets another 2 turns to make progress with the 7 units deployed. Thing is though, the original player can't take over from the second player, and because we weren't aware of how it works and chose private, we're kinda stuck now. So I'm gonna ask @Ike or @Jonnas to take the baton. The enemies are around Base Class Level 14, so it shouldn't be too difficult. The Take Over ID is 2MR225X. When you've finished your 2 turns, it might be worth making it Public. Ta in advance!

Right then. Let's do that again. Stamina matches tonight at 8pm.

N-E Online Mario Parties (Week 27 - Waluigi's Island - MP3)
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
OH GOD! WHY WON'T MARIO PARTY 1 END!? Mini-Game Stadium It's a board, it counts, we're doing it. I couldn't find a picture with the spaces in it, so I'll detail it here. Koopa is on the northmost tip of the star, the other tips have red spaces, and there's a single mini-game space in between the two southern tips. The rest are all blue spaces. This board doesn't work like the standard boards. For starters, there are no stars here. Victory is determined purely by how many coins you have at the end. Blue and red spaces don't give or take away coins, they're only used to determine the next minigame. However, passing by Koopa still gets you coins, and the mini-game space gives you a chance to get some more coins. So while your Mini game chops will be the biggest factor in play here, high rolls and lucky single player game landings will give you an edge. For this session, I'll be giving everyone a 50 coin boost at the start, purely because I want more coins to buy actual stuff with. I'll let you know when @Dcubed is available next. -

20 turns, and none of us could get that seventh star... @S.C.G took the Luigi reins and astonished us all with his Chance Time expertise! What's that? It just looks like he was running around randomly and mashing A whenever he felt like it? Shut up! -
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I still maintain that Goldeneye is overrated, but Slappers Only, License to Kill is an absolute riot! Pay attention to either P1 (Me), or P4 (@Dcubed) in that first clip. But my highlight of the night was the point where I was literally laughing to the point of tears. There's a lot going on in that clip. Naturally, P4 (@Dcubed) trying his hardest not to get slapped by P3 (@BowserBasher) who is just sliding across the floor because the crouch walk animation is hilarious grabs the immediate attention. But you can tell the moment where P1 (Me) couldn't actually play anymore because I was too busy dying of laughter. It's 23 seconds in. Meanwhile, P2 (@S.C.G) walks in on the nonsense 15 seconds in and decides to just sit back and watch. Which is what made me die of laughter in the first place. You can't make it up, really! -

BTW, there's a decent chance that @Dcubed would be up for a few Goldeneye games after our Mario Party session at 9:15-ish. So, y'know, you can save me from having fill up a slot by joining in. -
Not a bad idea, that. It's certainly got potential, but one critical hit, and all those defensive boosts won't do you any good. Which would be bad news if it runs Night Slash for some reason.

It did? Huh. It did! Wish I knew that sooner, always felt weird for Greninja's signature move to not take advantage of it's special based stats.
-
I was the one who suggested Clodsire, mostly because it's the only Pokémon that can hit Greninja's Poison typing super effectively with a STAB move, while also not getting hit with a super effective STAB move, because of Water Absorb. It's the only Pokémon in the game that can do that. The only thing to be concerned about is if Greninja has Ice Beam, but it's still better then other stuff. I may not be able to join in because I can't be bothered to get to the point where I can get competitive Pokémon, but I can certainly help theory craft stuff for these raids. Also, Water Shuriken is a physical move.

N-E Online Mario Parties (Week 27 - Waluigi's Island - MP3)
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Oh my daze! We're almost out of the unbalanced hell hole of Mario Party 1. But first, one more board... Eternal Star I hope you lot appreciated how much time I wasted watching CPU's play Mario Party to get those 100 stars... This board is weird. The gimmick of this one is all the warp pads that take you to various parts of the board. The problem is the actual destination changes between 3 different "Courses". So unless your memory is amazing, good luck. It sucks too, because one of those warp pads will take you to Bowser. He isn't messing around, he'll take a star if you get to him. No ifs, no buts. But this board isn't happy with just one gimmick, it needs two! Toad doesn't handle the star space here, Koopa Kid Mini Bowser Baby Bowser (Not that Baby Bowser) does, and there's 7 of him all throughout the board. When you get to one of them, you'll have to beat them in a dice game, after you pay 20 coins of course. Don't worry, it's heavily rigged in your favour. Complex board, this. Anyway, a certain other game is out very soon, and that may have gotten some people to bite on the Expansion Pack, so if anyone out there actually wants to join in, let me know, and I'll tell you when we're next playing. -

Right, a tad late due to not being able to get to a desktop, but here are the results. Look, I did behave despicably, but I've run out of GIF's, so @Dcubed must not be allowed to win, even if my dignity has to take a hit! -

I suppose I'd jump in to a session if there was an empty spot... Only in a "There's literally no-one else" scenario, mind. GoldenEye isn't that good. Perfect Dark is better. -
Oh god, Chapter 11! Oh god, why!? That is one rude wake up call!
-
Oh, they definitely change. I checked myself.
-
I knew I liked you for a reason.

Oh, "Saturday Morning Cartoon" is a great way of describing the tone of this game. Yeah, I agree with that based on what I've seen. Chapter 5 on hard proper kicked my butt. I already hate revival stones. Had to use a lot of time travel to get through that one. Yet, Clanne still got one shotted by the boss, at which point, I said "screw it" and finished off the chapter, he didn't miss out on any experience anyway. Anyway, as a quick PSA, the game doesn't notify you when a support conversation not involving Pepsi Boy is available. So check on that section in the + menu periodically.
-
I think you're mistaken on that. The battle preview adds an extra orange section to the hit rate/crit bar if a support bonus is affecting it. In the case of a support bonus raising your evasion or critical evasion, it represents this by having the enemy bars flicker. That's a beta screenshot, but the same thing happens in the actual game.

Stock matches tonight at 8pm.

I've started my file now. UFA took the toothpaste joke, so I went with the other obvious one, "PepsiBoy" (8 character limit).

I watched @Ugh first aid play the first 5 chapters last night. She renamed the main character Colgate, and it's naturally very funny. Here are a few impressions from me though. - Intro FMV cutscene music bad. Very bad. Doesn't fit the series at all. - Rest of soundtrack so far good, so hopefully the above is just a weird outlier. - UI very good, she can parse the information despite being visually impaired. Vast improvement over Three Houses. - The new mechanics such as Break and the Emblems provide some really cool wrinkles. Being able to move the Emblems around promises some mix and match shenanigans. - That said, she's playing on Normal and having these Emblems gives her such a massive advantage. Consider playing on Hard at least. Celica only being able to use Warp once per Engage use and only on the character she's paired with seems like a good balance, until you realise she can warp to any enemy, and immediately smack them with Ragnarok without fear of counterattack! That's bonkers. Sigurd giving Mov+5 is also bonkers! - You can lower the difficulty midway through the game. Good! You can't raise it though, hence why I suggest starting on Hard at least. EDIT: Oh right, I forgot to mention this, but the cutscene building up to the first proper battle is hilarious. "Shall we fight them? As you wish, Divine One, your bravery knows no equal!" "No, let's run." "Huh?" That caught me off guard.
