Uhhh... Didn't expect my Bob-omb to be that effective @RedShell. Uhhh. Soz?

Game costs £3.99, which I think is the same as the Steam version. But there's a 10% discount at launch. Which means you can save 40 pence!!!! The two DLC packs are separate. £1.59 each. Also has a 10% launch discount. Excuse me while I go invest this 72p. Actually, I bought it with gold points.

Another competitive shiny Pokémon giveaway. A shiny Grimmsnarl focusing on dual screen shenanigans. Code is THA12022CHAMP

Honestly, if items are what you need, then I've got a better setup. Yeah, I know. No Hunter Types seems mad, but Bartz is better then anything they can do. "Job Mastered!" is absolutely ludicrous, and here's why: It boosts all of Bartz's stats by 150, which is pretty good, as it includes Luck. So more treasure chests! Because it boosts stats, and not abilities, it means he does more damage with triggers and summons and lets him run faster in FMS's. It also happens twice per song, and relatively quickly. So all his stats will be up by 300 before you get halfway, which is nuts. Now here's where it gets broken, Mimic has the exact same activation conditions! This means he'll Mimic Job Mastered!... Twice! That's +600 to all of his stats! And if Bartz is the leader, then everyone in the group with Mimic, will also mimic Job Mastered!... Twice! For +300 to all their stats! (That's a grand total of +1,500) Combined with that lovely summonstone to up CollectaCard drops, and you've got a veritable card factory, just make sure Bartz leads, and Job Mastered! is above Mimic, and you're golden! Benjamin and Ciaran help cover status effects that can get in the way of stabbity death (Unfortunately, Stone can break through, but that only lasts 8 seconds, so it's not too bad), while Tyro helps with magic coverage. And if you want, you can teach them all "Rare Collector" with items to help get rarer cards. If you want, I can share my Summonstone with you. I'm literally 1 card away from completion thanks to that beaut! EDIT: Oh right, the other reason I came here. October 11th's pack has finally been revealed. Looks like the first mystery pack will be a Bravely Default one. The four songs from the first game were in Curtain Call, while the two from the sequel are obviously new. Assuming that the other packs will cover the songs still missing, then every song from Curtain Call is looking to be in this eventually. You can retire your 3DS now. Also, Bravely Second who? Yeah, that game got proper shafted. Shame too, that soundtrack is very good. Not sure why they had to keep that secret, considering both games were out back in Feburary, but whatever, both soundtracks are amazeballs, so I'm fine with it. I probably wouldn't have chosen "Spurred into flight" if I was limited to two songs, mind. I would've gone with this. Or even this. The second song is perfect though, I'm glad that got in. But now I have no clue what to expect from the final pack! I want it to be Octopath Traveler II, but I'm not getting my hopes up now.

We finally have 12 tracks that take place at night (Not counting those in space or ones that mostly happen indoors). So it's a full on Night Time Drive! See you at 8pm.

I find it amusing that it's "Directer's Cut". Given how silly the whole thing is, I can't be certain that typo wasn't intentional...
-
Nah, you have them all. But Lv 99 isn't the highest level. And you need to get some (Not all of them, thankfully) characters to that max to unlock a feat.

Oh... Oh, you don't know? Oh no... Anyway, yeah, it's Advent Children's version of One Winged Angel that is stupidly long. I kinda like long songs though, playing casually, at least. Chasing a Perfect Chain, though? Totally different matter and I agree with you on that part. "Band: Rise" from the DX list is probably the hardest long song to perfect though. That one took me a few attempts. I'm almost done clearing everything on Ultimate difficulty. About 80 songs left.

Nintendo Switch Online: Game Boy / Game Boy Color
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Oracle of Season's items are best suited for beating both games linked, so I recommend playing Ages first. -
Yep, so @BowserBasher will have to take over hosting duties this week. Player's Choice tonight at 8pm.

I think that's why they made the title of this and the first PS4 game as "Marvel's Spider-Man"

You can't actually catch half of the Pokémon in this picture Pokémon Colosseum is a turn-based RPG for the Gamecube that released in 2004 in Europe, it's developed by Genius Sonority. Building off of the base of the N64 Pokémon Stadium titles to make the first ever 3D Pokémon RPG. The game takes place in the Orre Region, a desolate place that is inhospitable to wild Pokémon. You play as Wes, a member of the criminal gang, Team Snagem. Well, former member. He just quit, and he delivers his P45 in the form of blowing the headquarters up, yoinking a gadget, and driving away on his ridiculous motorbike, alongside 2 of his closest companions, the decent Espeon, and the absolutely useless Umbreon. Along the way, he saves a young woman getting kidnapped, her name is Rui. She was getting kidnapped because she has the ability to see certain shadowy auras on Pokémon. These Pokémon, dubbed "Shadow Pokémon" are Pokémon who have artifically had the door to their hearts closed, making them dangerous fighting machines. Well, Rui's in luck, the gadget Wes swiped is the Snag Machine, a device that allows the user to catch other trainer's Pokémon. The two team up to steal these Shadow Pokémon, open the doors to their heart, and stop whoever is behind all this. Yeah, this isn't your standard Pokémon game. And it's not just the setting that's weird. Wes isn't a newbie trainer, his 2 Pokémon are over level 25. The entire game is done in Doubles format, and the Shadow Pokémon plot is the sole driving force of the game, no Pokédex or Gym Badges here. While you can steal Pokémon, you can't just steal any Pokémon. Only Shadow Pokémon can be jacked, and this severely limits the Pokémon that you can choose from. It's worth remembering that this game came out during the third generation of Pokémon, and that certain generation was during the jump to the GBA games. This resulted in a group of Pokémon from the Game Boy games not being available in the GBA games. Colosseum was the start of filling in that gap. The majority of the 52 Pokémon you can get are Pokémon from the second generation games that weren't in Ruby/Sapphire. The side effect of this is that about 80% of Pokémon here are kinda, well... rubbish. This seems like a decent team on paper. But this is Gen 3, and Colosseum is restrictive in team building. So here's why my team is mostly awful. Anyway, this results in an interesting dynamic where the lack of good choices means you have to really capitilise on the strengths of whatever you use. A while back, I compared the sequel to Colosseum, Pokémon XD, to Pokémon X/Y. Long story short, I concluded that while X/Y is the technically better game, it's blandness in comparison to most other Pokémon games meant that XD was more interesting to play. The same applies here. Doubles is a better format, and I wish mainline Pokémon would utilise it more outside of the competitive scene. XD is better then Colosseum, mind. Colosseum builds off of the base that the N64 Stadium games set, warts and all. Pokémon animations are long and elaborate, which is a joy to watch, as, at the time, this was the most personality Pokémon had outside of the anime. On the other hand, Pokémon animations are long and elaborate, which means the game progresses at a glacial pace. I see a few complaints that modern Pokémon animations are worse then these ones. This is a rubbish viewpoint, because trust me, you don't want animations that can last up to 10 seconds each time you attack! It's better these days, believe me. The visuals are... rough. It's hard to hold it against Genius Sonority, because this game was clearly done on a budget. But I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the fact that all the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokémon reuse the N64 Stadium models. And some of the Gen 3 Pokémon look... weird these days... Eurgh... Soundtrack is great, mind. A very strange departure from what you'd expect from a Pokémon game, but it's solid! And that's Pokémon Colosseum, a weird take on Pokémon games. But that helps it to stand out. I would recommend XD instead though, but Colosseum is still a fun time.

I'm not particularly fussed either way, but if @Ike still wants to hang around for the full 2 hours, then I would rather he did, and keep it normal stages only.
-
Yeah, had a feeling that wouldn't be your cup of tea. But I thought up a way for everyone to be happy. Because gaining one regular only to lose one because it's not fun for them would suuuuuck. So here's what I'm thinking @RedShell, I open up the arena half an hour earlier for Custom Stage Shenanigans, once 7:55 rolls around, then I restart the arena with the more normal setup I use. That way, @Ike can just wait until 8 to join and still have a similar experience to what he likes. But us chaotic lot get our fix of silly, unbalanced mayhem! That cool for both of you?
-
It took me about 10 hours, but I had played it before, and I have a knack for recalling solutions to games I've played before. So I'd say around 15-ish hours for the average first playthrough.

Yeah, you getting NSO prompted me to look up when he was added. I was as shocked as you are! EDIT: Woops, made a new page.

Yeah, the Dragon's Trap remake complicates things a little. Because it really is the best version of that game. If that didn't exist, the anniversary collection would be the obvious choice. Another thing to consider is that the in-game gallery is quite in-depth, with concept art, box art, and instruction manuals. Getting the one that has less versions will mean that you get a lesser gallery as well. If that kind of historic thing is your kind of thing, then it's something to keep in mind.

Time format tonight at 8pm. I expect @RedShell to be up for it tonight. This will be the first time he'll be playing since "Sora Night" back in October 2021. I assume he'd like to bring some of his expertly crafted custom stages with him, so I'm tweaking the usual standard setup. Custom Stages will be allowed. Previously, I just set the stage selection to Random, and left it to the game. The only stage I removed from the selection process was Palutena's Temple, because it's way too massive. I'll be adding "Custom Stages" to the "Banned from Random Selection" because there's no way I can guarantee that the random Custom Stage won't get broken by whatever format we might be doing. Now, it'd be pointless to allow Custom Stages, only to not allow random to choose it, so stage selection will be set to "Choice". As a reminder, this works similar to how picking characters in Arenas works, so you can just leave it on random, if you're not fussed. If you do decide to pick a stage, avoid sticking with one choice for too long. There's 114 stages, plenty of variety there. I don't know if this got patched out, but there's a weird quirk with how stage selection functions in Arena. If someone picked a stage, the people who picked random would have no effect on the actual stage picked. If this is still the case, I'll leave it to @RedShell's judgment for when to choose custom stages, and when to revert back to the standard fare. This is also why I suggest that people don't stick too long with one stage. Finally, there'll be times where we'll have 6 regular participants, so I'll take the time to remind you that in this scenario, the bottom 2 people will be swapped out of the next match, so if people hop out of the arena to change character/stage, try to remember if you have to step out of the arena to let them back in when applicable. Anyway, thanks for cooperating.

I can't believe I spaced on this write-up! Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed is an RPG developed by Monolith Soft. It is a direct prequel to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 that was released as part of that game's DLC. It came out on the 26th of April. The game follows Matthew and... someone else. Honestly, it's hard to give a synopsis of this game. Because literally anything I say is risking spoiling stuff for not just Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but the other games in the series as well. All I can really say is that the plot goes places, is well paced, and concludes in such a satisfying way. But I'm serious, it will spoil everything in the series. So it's probably a good thing that unlike the similar prequel seen in Xenoblade 2, you can't buy this seperate from the base game. It makes posting screenshots such a massive minefield, that I'm not gonna even bother. Unless you just want to see pictures of the sky. It's the only thing that's safe. The game plays a lot like the base game, unsurprisingly, a mixture between explorative gameplay, and MMORPG-style turn based battles. It's not an open world game, but there's loads of avenue for stepping off of the plot-mandated path. The game does an amazing job of rewarding people who explore, as finding landmarks, cataloguing the various enemies, and completing sidequests accrue points, which can be spent on the 6 characters you see above for stat boosts, passive benefits, and abilities to use in fights. It's an amazing tweak to the system that's a great incentive for me to aim for 100%. The game is much shorter then the base game, obviously, it takes around 20 to 30 hours to see the credits. While I'm not normally bothered by long RPG's, it is nice to play a more bite-sized one now and again. I mean, just look at the likes of Chrono Trigger. I mentioned this back when I talked about Xenoblade 3, but the game looks a hell of a lot better then Xenoblade 2. Like, it's not the most amazing looking game, but it's serviceable. Music is just as solid as the base game as well. But yeah, it's great. But you can't really play this unless you've played the other entries in Xenoblade. I mean you can, but that's just dumb.

Oh snap, that's this year!? Add that to my list. Chained Echoes is on my wishlist I mentioned. Consider taking the plunge on Wonder Boy Collection at 30% off. That developer isn't known for deep discounts, so you might be waiting a while otherwise. (Make sure you get the pricier 6-game, 21 version one, it's Wonder Boy, so even the collection is bloody confusing!)

As far as games I plan on getting on release, there are currently 3. Vampire Survivors is a game I've been dying to see a Switch port of ever since I first played it, so I'm all in on that next month. Maybe this version will finally be the moment when we find an actual vampire? Not ghosts, though. There's never been ghosts in this game. Ghosts don't exist. The thread title refers to "Planned Purchases", but well, the other two are games I've already paid for, courtesy of that 2 game voucher scheme NSO offers. I used both of them on Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Super Mario RPG. 2D Mario hasn't steered me wrong yet. They're good at worst, and I doubt that kind of Mario is going to suddenly be open-world and boring, so safe bet there. And Mario RPG is, well, Mario RPG. Love that game. Very intrigued to see how they handle certain aspects of it. And maybe Mallow and Geno will be useful and not just benched as soon as you get Bowser and Peach? The rest are various games that have been added to my "I'll wait for a decent sale, because I have a backlog, and don't need to play these immediately" wishlist. Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection is 30% off, so I snapped that up, which means I now have every Wonder Boy game on my Switch.

Now that's petty.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Psst... No-one will behoove you if you decide to join @BowserBasherand I for the occasional game of Mario Party 2. Thankfully, that one works just fine with a Pro Controller. -
Octopath Traveler music is available now. I don't really need to say anything, do I? It's Octopath Traveler! That soundtrack is amazing!

@Dcubed, was Bridge Commander that game your brother played the hell out of wayyyyyy back? Because I vaguely remember that one.
