Shot well taken! ONLINE SHOPPING BLOWS!
-
But, but I thought it was funny. I love a bit of snark! Especially about my sponging off of DCubed. I make jokes about it myself. I mean, now that I actually have my own Primal Groudon figurine, it's the closest I've got to a running joke here. No need to apologise at all.
-
The question you should be asking is "Why are you getting it so late?" Actual answer: Online stores tend to ship stuff off ahead of time so that people don't miss release dates. That said, I think it's about time I enquire about buying my copy early. Worth a shot.
-
No, not really. Even if I wasn't leeching off of him, he'd still end up buying both physical and digital copies of games. So it doesn't affect him in any way when I borrow a game. He has a lot more disposable income than I do. And I do buy games from time to time, I'm buying Mario Maker, definitely. (I'll probably end up buying Hyrule Warriors 3DS as well, I kinda owe it to Tecmo Koei at this point) But this time, Runbow is legitmately not worth me purchasing it, because the only access I have to online play is when I visit him. So if I bought it, I'd only ever play the single player at my place, and let's face it, that's just not worth it.
-
And that's why there's no point in me getting it. I'll just play his. Gave the demo a go, and it was definitely quite fun. (We only had two players, so it wasn't very crazy, but I imagine that would only go up with online.)

Awww... You're no fun.

You're telling this to someone who's never played any of the PMD games. The context is lost. Serebii really really really hates Roguelikes, (He likes Pokemon, but doesn't like the Mystery Dungeon series, so clearly, it's a problem with Roguelikes) so he's not the guy to listen to if you're looking for a roguelike. Gates to Infinity is perfectly OK, the gameplay is great. But a few irritating drawbacks (Annoyingly slow text speed, lack of a postgame story, a little bit too lenient when you die, etc.) stop it from reaching the great heights of Explorers of Sky. (My personal favourite) Good to see that it got a good score, can't wait for it to come out here!
-
Game's not even out yet and you have people making "Best Mario Maker levels" videos!? There's premature, and then there's bloody instant! "Oh! This first coffee I drank is brilliant, I'm gonna declare it the best coffee ever before I even try any others!" Why coffee? I don't even like coffee...

I'm the kind of weird sort who can get enjoyment out of playing games I've already played to death just for the hell of it. I could just be casually playing games while Dave (Best TV channel ever) is on in the background, when suddenly, for no reason at all... "I wonder if I could play through Child Of Light with only the main character"
-
Pikmin 3 was the only Pikmin game I actually enjoyed. 1 was too urgent for my liking. (I'm talking in terms of the time limit) 2 gave way too much freedom. It just felt a bit overwhelming. 3 struck a nice balance between the two, so I'll be watching this one cautiously...

This sentence just confuses me... Isn't Super Mario 64's 3D movement one big massive gimmick in the first place?
-
Hey, speaking of Metal Gear... I played through the All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. on the Wii VC which is actually on a disc. Also, it was on DCubed's American Wii. So it's the American emulated remade disc version of Super Mario Bros. Yay! Nothing much to really say here. It's Super Mario Bros, but with dodgy brick physics! There were a few moments when those physics (You don't bounce back down when breaking a brick) caught me off guard. And DCubed may have commandeered the controller for World 8-3 (That level is way too hard compared to the rest of the game) but I still played through most of it. And it's still great! There's another game that I recently finished, but I'm gonna wait until a little later before I talk about that. I feel like I need a whole new post and more time to get my thoughts out about that.

I ain't ordering. Gonna just stroll into that shop and buy it the old-school way. They might even give it to me early if they're feeling generous. (That said, they wouldn't give me Smash early, they didn't want to risk a visit from the Ninty Ninjas I bet, so that might be the case with another big release like Mario Maker.)

It definitely does get brilliant after the first frustrating dungeon. It did feel like the game was trying to stop me from actually playing the game at the beginning though... I kept experimenting and fusing new demons until I stumbled upon Dragon Long, who I liked so much, I stuck with it for almost the rest of the game. Until I managed to fuse Dragon Huang Long, who I'm pretty convinced is at least one of the best demons in the game. Ended up with a team of Huang Long (Totally not the Dragonball Z dragon), Ammut (Crocodile with hairy arms and a thing for bondage) and Orochi (Tons of Snakey silliness)... I may have a reptile bias. I haven't bought the DLC. It seems like it's there to help people grind from what I can gather. Doesn't interest me. I can't say I remember the Wendigo boss fight. It did take me a while to get through the first quarter of the game, so I don't remember much from it. I'll probably play through New Game+ in the future for reasons I won't mention here, but I'm sure you could guess at. But I'm gonna play Mario Maker first.

Lynch him! LYNCH HIM! He knows nothing of the insane amount of skill needed to be good in that game!
-
Doesn't make it OK. And isn't this more Yacht Clubs fault anyway? Why are you blaming Ninty for Shovel Knight stuff? But you know, it's not like they're giving away an ENTIRE game's worth of content away for free or anything. Let's just focus on the local co-op mode that the majority of users here wouldn't actually touch anyway.

It will be, it's currently uploading, I'll edit in a video once it's up. It'll be about 30-45 minutes. This one was really spontaneous, seeing as I was about to finish Pokemon XD anyway, I'll try to provide more warning next time. EDIT: There we go! It's there in the archives now, @Ike. We did kinda goof up with the volume balance a bit. The more bombastic music drowns us out a bit and there's more than a few teething problems... The unprofessional approach only adds to the charm in my opinion... I hope... If you want to skip to when we actually start the file, skip to 5:48

I'm just gonna shamelessly plug @Dcubed's and my live stream of the last few moments of Pokemon XD (You know, the console Pokemon game that people only bought because it had a Lugia) We'll be starting it in around 10 minutes. No charity fundraising this time, it's purely for giggles. DCubed and I will be there, and hopefully DCubed's sister if she can stay awake... You can find it here. EDIT: That's the actual link

I am so hyped that it's turn-based! Nothing wrong with Old-fashioned Monster Hunter. But I'm very relieved that this will be it's own experience.

I enjoyed reading through those. Thank you! Particularly had a good laugh reading through everyone panicking over the possibility of motion controls on the Wii version. In hindsight, it's really funny. Also, I had no idea about the reward for 50 perfects. I'd love to play it, but I do not have the patience to try and perfect Love Rap...
-
I'd take less advanced models if it meant I could have 4 on one screen without the frame rate having a heart attack. Especially if those models wear adorable little scarfs, etc. when you equip stuff! EDIT: Oh, and I would imagine that they have more animations than X/Y going by the models in Gates to Infinity.

I beat up that beat so hard, it's mother couldn't recognise it! I played through Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise recently. For those of you who don't know, this is a quirky rhythm game that was released on the Wii in it's later years. The Rhythm Paradise games all revolve around being able to keep a beat, but it does so with games that are completely wacky, it's not your average rhythm game, that's for sure. This game is one of the finest examples of "Easy to pick up, difficult to master", as you only use the Wii Remote's A and B buttons to play the myriad of games. The games are easy to play and clear, so it doesn't take long to finish them all, but if you're one of those guys who like to get everything, then you're required to "Perfect" every one. Now that's all well and good, but why in the world can you only attempt a perfect run whenever the game feels like it? This is the only issue I have with this series, it's incredibly frustrating nailing a perfect, but getting nothing because I didn't do it when the game wanted me to. Oh well, it's a small setback in an otherwise brilliant game, so I'm gonna show you one of my favourite games from it. I tend to enjoy the games that go out of the way to put you off... After I finished that, I went ahead and played through all the games in... It wasn't the German one. Same general idea as the Wii version, but with different games and touch controls. I prefer the Wii version. But this is still great. And it has my favourite game in the series! Hoo-hah hoo-hah HI! I've played Lockstep so much, I know the whole thing by heart. Anyway, that's enough happy fun rhythm times! Let's look at something a little darker. It's Shin Megami Tensei 4 Yes, I know this game came out ages ago, but I only recently finished it, mainly because I bought it during a sale and for other reasons that I will go into. SMT 4 is a turn-based RPG released on the 3DS (Only on eShop for us though) But important news from Isabeau! Thanks Isabeau! And with that, let's get started with the story. Spoilers ahead, so if you don't want to be spoiled, here's Isabeau to show you what to do. Thanks Isabeau!

Hey remember this game guys? Well there's a new trailer for it that Serebii refused to share here. No joke, the visuals look way better than X/Y. It'll probably run at a steady frame rate as well. Although that's not saying much. Full of Japanese of course, and yet it still gets me very excited!

Somehow, that review has made me excited about a bloody title screen! This week is going to be unbearable!
