  1. I'm with you on that. My heart can't take the inevitable cuts that would come around from starting from scratch.
  2. You're not the only person who's theorising that. If it is Farfetch'd related, than my money will be on an Obstagoon style evolution, because Farfetch'd's stats are an utter joke and it desperately needs the boost. Although it'll be strange for it to drop both of it's Normal/Flying types, so I'm guessing it's both a Galarian variant and an evolution, much like Linoone and Obstagoon.
  3. I want it to be a Galarian Cubone, but we've already had Alolan Marowak, so that's not happening. Fighting is it's type and it has the Steadfast ability.
  4. Well, I'm gonna head online and play some more Breath of Fire, so if anyone wants to jump in and play other games/watch, go right ahead. Just let me get to a place where I won't be horribly lost if I suspend the game there. These dungeons can be quite complex! Gonna give a shout-out to @Vileplume2000 to see if he's interested in carrying on with our post-Special Mario World run. I'm sure it'll get even harder! Definitely! Totally! If I'm not online or playing with someone else, just give me a shout.
  5. It's a triple A (not in the Jim sterling way) Nintendo owned game that has a Microsoft credit on the title screen. And not just for a small thing, a full blown playable character! 90's me would have freaked over that. I still can't believe it happened. It's utterly surreal. I'm sure Iwata would be very pleased with the amount of gaming companies coming together for this celebration. Even after we get past the playable characters, we've got some indie companies getting a nod such as WayForward, Yacht Club Games and just recently Toby Fox. I can't wait to see what plans Sakurai has in the future for Ultimate!
  6. This is most certainly a test run. If it's successful, it might show up again in the future. Of course MK8DX will still be the focus, but this has the potential to help add some variety now and again. Probably like a "once every 3 months" thing. My biggest worry though is that if lag happens on the SNES online app, it's much more noticeable than if it happens on MK8DX.
  7. I knew it, Sobble's the best because it don't need no support! Nerdy Team Setup Joke!
  8. Next League Night: 19th September 8pm @Glen-i (Depending on number of players) @BowserBasher @viceview51 @martinist @RedShell OK, yeah, gonna give an explanation. Pay attention. Next week, the league will be held on the original Super Mario Kart. You lot can't get out of it because I know you have the SNES Switch Online App because you need an online membership to even play in the league in the first place. So just roll with it. Naturally, you can only have 2 players at a time, so you'll be paired with a person who is next to you in the league table. You can't choose the same character as the other person, so try not to kill each other over it. Once I finalise who gets paired with who, you'll need to sort out who is the host in your group. Each group will play through the first three cups on "MarioKart GP" mode on 50cc. I trust you're all competent enough to not run out of lives on that speed. Each group will need to provide screenshots of the end of each race and send them to me. CPU's will affect your scores this week, so aim high. If there's an odd number of people, I'll join in to even the numbers. I'll post each pairing on Thursday, so if you can declare yourself IN! as soon as possible, that'd be great. Sign up Now!
  9. Super Dodgeball Beats
  10. Only a couple from me. I've got something a little bit special for next week, and by "special", I really mean, "experimental" and you lot know that could be the greatest thing ever, or an utter shambles.
  11. OK, that's it for me. Thanks for the games, guys!
  12. If there was ever proof I completely blow chunks with Falco, that was it.
  13. Simply put, yeah. Royal Raceway was a complete reversal in placings. It's why the points were so close despite the top 3 being 8 or more points ahead going into the 4th race.
  14. Room's open now.
  15. Tonight's post MK Smash session is Stamina. 9pm.
  16. Just a reminder that your Mii's have to be named in a way that I can recognise as you.
  17. They'll ignore it whenever possible. It's absolutely astonishing how much people will back their initial choice no matter how bad things look. But that's just how this age of social media is. People stick to their guns in the face of overwhelming contradictory evidence. Because admitting you're wrong is hugely embarrassing, apparently.
  18. Next League Night: Tonight 8pm Room 1: @BowserBasher is host @Glen-i - Whoever has not been chosen @BowserBasher - Will @viceview51 @martinist - Jazz @RedShell - Geoffrey @S.C.G - Will @Dcubed - Carlton
  19. It's Miitopia meets Wii Fit and I need it! @Dcubed has informed me that the dragon is a stereotypical Gym Bro that is all about the negative aspects of Gym culture. I approve!
  20. Yeah, ever since the WiiU, Nintendo have been (mostly) using the American versions. A lot of older European games run slower because 50Hz was the standard format over here in the 90's. 50Hz is no longer a thing, so they might as well use the ones with original speed. I'm trucking along with Breath of Fire at the moment. I've only played the GBA version of the sequel, so it's nice to go back and see where it started. I do notice the lack of a run button, so it's well sloooooow. But I'm dealing with it. One thing I really like about it (and I assume all of the titles in the series) is that your party doesn't just consist of some human blokes and girls. Capcom really goes all in on the fantasy element and sticks you with Wolf archers, Lamia sorceresses, Fish Merchants, Giant Ox Blacksmiths and Mole people (with turbans!). Even the three humans in this game have something special about them. The main character can literally transform into a dragon and totally dominate fights. And there's this other kid who can literally fuse with other party members and become a completely new character! It's sweet, even if the concept can be horrifying if you think about it. (Wolf Fish is cool and all, but who's actually in control?) Sure, you have less party members, but when he's rocking over 500 HP, you won't care. Yeah, I'm liking it. Box art is hilariously dumb though, looks more like some Conan the Barbarian game.
  21. I'm 100% certain there's an option to turn that off. I think it's something like "Key Shortcuts" or something. It stops items from being used by inputting a diagonal direction. (Beware though, there's one character who can move diagonally and turning that off makes it very difficult to do so) Are you using the Pro Controller? Because if so, I recommend using Joy Cons instead and using the D-Pad Buttons for any character who's not the Bard. If you're still using the Bard, than that's fine.
  22. That's one small segment of the track. The rest of Toad Harbour is a lot narrower than that. In fact, that course completely contradicts your point because the quicker routes are actually narrower than the average SMK track. Which provides a nice "risk, reward" aspect. And if you're getting hit all the time, than you're playing too aggressively with items. Using them defensively is just as important as using them to attack. Believe me, if SMK somehow supported 8 player racing, you'd be getting attacked just as often as in other games.
  23. Nope, not letting that one slide. Wider tracks are necessary because of the 12 racer cap. And that point becomes real apparent when you play on 200cc, where braking actually becomes necessary. The main reason SMK seems challenging is because the CPU's are cheating bastards. On the later classes, CPU's will 90% of the time just use one of their infinite feathers to dodge anything you throw at them. Naturally they have infinite of their items (Some of which you can never get) to use whenever they like. Seriously, the best strategy for bananas and green shells is to throw them somewhere they can never hit you. Because you're the only one who ever will. Add to that the insane rubber banding and the coin management rule that only the player has to follow and you've got a whole heaping pile of fake difficulty. And don't even get me started on how far you barrel off of the track if a second player actually performs a miracle and hits you with a Red Shell, might as well throw the race right there and then. I can assure you, careful item management and skill will win a MK8 single player Grand Prix 100% of the time. I like Super Mario Kart, it's fun, and it's great playing it online. But don't pretend that it's even remotely balanced.
  24. I don't think you can any more predictable than that particular screenshot. The first game I had on Switch was BotW. Didn't take a single screenshot.
  25. This game, I have no idea why. But it is the first time that all regions have the same measurements. American versions of Smash used to use feet. I only managed a measly 660-ish km. with Peach.
