That's exactly what people said about the WiiU.

I mean, this is just weird, Sword and Shield just came out, I know they aim for yearly releases, but this feels too soon somehow. I mean, Pokémon Home, Sleep and Detective Pika are what I expect. But I'm hoping for something else. Something like... No, that's Rescue Team, Time is in the second set of games. Tell you what, you and Dcubed can make a compromise between more modern graphics and flat sprites and go Wonder Boy remake hand-drawn sprites. Oh man, could you imagine? Never gonna happen though. In all seriousness, given the sad state of Pokémon spin-offs these days, I'd consider it a miracle if any kind of Mystery Dungeon game comes out on Switch. Port, new game, 3D models, 2D sprites, I don't care, just don't send it to mobile to die. Seeing as we now know there's more characters coming after the Fighter's Pass, I think it's more a matter of "when", not "if". Sword and Shield are one of the best-selling titles on Switch, that's some sweet DLC money from using Pokémon. As for it being the next character? I'm not sure now. This direct has thrown my prediction all out of whack. As far as I see it... For: This direct and the weird absence of the fifth character during Terry's demonstration. Against: Fighter's Pass looks to focus on franchises that are new to Smash and the 5 characters in the Fighter's Pass were probably decided around the time it was announced. It being a Gen VIII Pokémon would explain why it didn't show during Terry's demo, didn't want to reveal a new Pokémon before the game was out. Absolutely no evidence, but it would explain that. Either way, I hope it's Toxtricity. Toxtricity is the best Gen VIII Pokémon and would fill in that Poisonous Pokémon hole well. (Yes, I know Ivysaur exists, but let's face it, Piranha Plant is more poisonous than Smash Ivysaur)

@euroninfan region locking is when you can't play a game from a different region on your console. So, say you have a european 3DS and you buy a game from America, you wouldn't be able to play it because they're from different regions.

I'm not entirely certain on this, but you might have won because you had more of "Your Time" left than the opponent. Either that, or you actually did have more HP, as in your Toxapex had more HP EV's/IV's than your opponent. I'm gonna try and give @Serebii a shout, because if anyone knows...

There's definitely benefits to both, but Water Absorb and Seismitoad's Water/Ground typing completely shuts down rain dance shenanigans. Also works well in doubles, letting me use Inteleon's Surf to attack the opposite team and heal Seismitoad at the same time. Which means it benefits from rain dance as well as defends against it. One of the most dangerous Pokémon in this generation basically spams one water move over and over, because that's basically all it's good for. Water Absorb Seismitoad's mere existence will make anyone using it think twice. I also think Seismitoad is cool. All the froggy Pokémon are.

Everything will be up this week. Christmas and all that.

Speaking of hidden abilities, I've been trying to get a Water Absorb Seismitoad for a month now. Stupid Delibirds hogging all the raids. Don't suppose anyone here has one? I won't be available until this Thursday, mind.

The thing is with underused Pokémon is that they tend to be underused for a reason. Normally, there's another Pokémon available that does the role better. That said, remember that when we talk about tiers, people are normally referring to Smogon, which focuses entirely on Singles format. If you want to play the unexpected Pokémon card, you might have more success in doubles. You'd be amazed how often people ignore the less popular Pokémon because they're not seen as much of a threat, only to get blindsided by it. Did this all the time with Buzzwole last generation. 2019's World Champion used a Togedemaru to similar effect. I also used a Hawlucha back then as well, specifically one with the unburden ability. Sent it out with a Tapu Koko's Electric Terrain and used an electric seed to boost it's defense and activate that same ability. Of course, Tapu Koko isn't in Sword and Shield, so you either have to rely on a Dynamax electric move or have a Pincurchin with Electric Surge instead.

Seeing a Link's Awakening run without crazy warping shenanigans is going to be surreal!

Coincidence, the nature (and EV's and so on) are predetermined the moment that beam of light shows up.
-
I saw an advert for it on TV. Granted, it was in the same ad with Ring Fit Adventure, but it was still there.

You know, the Game Boy Pokémon actually got their sounds updated in X/Y. If you're talking about anime voices though. That's very unlikely. A lot of Pokémon have completely different names and voices in other languages and the sheer amount of voice acting needed to cover all that would be a lot of work for little payoff. Pikachu only gets away with it because that's its name everywhere. Same with Eevee, I imagine. Have you tried playing Smash Ultimate in a different language? It's worth it to hear German Squirtle.

Others have already mentioned most of what I was going to say, but I should mention this. A lot of people get burned out on the game because they try to do stuff as fast as possible. Animal Crossing just isn't built like that. The best advice I can give anyone is to limit your single-player sessions each day. Try not to play more than an hour a day and you'll find the game more enjoyable once you build a daily routine. Of course, there are exceptions. Holidays and the like are a good opportunity to get rare stuff and if someone starts a multiplayer session in their town and you want in, go ahead. But most of the time, keep it under an hour.

Yeah, you're definitely in the minority when it comes to the battle system, @drahkon, proper good once you get to grips with Level 3 blade combos and orb smashing with chain attacks. Such a pity that a lot of the characters are rubbish compared to Shulk's crew. Morag and Zeke are the only characters I actually like. I hate that Tora is the best character in battles, because he has the worst personality by far.

The next tourney category focuses on stuff introduced in Melee. I gotta say, I like the promotional render they did for it. Appreciate the effort put into recreating the original menu poses. That's the closest you're getting to Melee HD.
-
It's cool, like all the other times, as soon as I mentioned it on the internet, the problem resolved itself.
-
Oh snap, @RedShell, no pressure! EDIT: Cheers, dude! Appreciate it. Could you do me a solid and make any future Magikarp raids a Link Code one? @Ugh first aid and a friend of hers are also trying to get one. Use the code 0709. SECOND EDIT: Never mind, we've all got one now. Anyway, if you took part in Ranked Battles, you can claim your rewards now. I can confirm Singles and Doubles both count, so you can get double the stuff.

My lungs hurt a bit.

No such thing.

OK, @Sméagol and @Sofiz, we're back with more Guesspionage until 10.

Yeah, in the last round, you pick what you think are the 3 most popular choices. Of all the times for the stream to play up... We'll let you know once we fix it.
-
Yeah, sorry. Our Stream went down, but the game is still going. We'll try and get it back on. Congrats on the win.

We're gonna be playing Guesspionage next. Code is SCYH

Right, an hour left until 8pm. So I'm gonna mention @londragon, @Clownferret and @martinist. I'm also gonna mention @S.C.G and @RedShell, because they're always fun.
