  1. Done again! I'm very upset with myself. I died unintentionally in Click Clock Wood and had to re-collect the Jinjos, thankfully, I already had all the notes, but that blunder bumped me up above 4 hours.
  2. Whatever font they use in the N64 version? It was fine as is.
  3. That's all well and good, but I highly doubt any game developer included it for that specific reason.
  4. The only time I've ever tolerated Comic Sans is in Undertale. Awful font. If it's any consoloation, the last 6 pieces do absolutely nothing to your health. I'm playing through this again. Going for a much faster standard 100% time. At the exact same point you're at. (Plus the Jiggy you skipped and the honeycomb pieces) 1 hour, 8 minutes, 23 seconds leaving Bubblegloop
  5. I always find this to be a humourous complaint. I genuinely don't understand why reading is such a big bugbear for some people. A lot of kids from the 90's basically learnt to read because games like Pokémon existed. Dialogue goes along at the pace that is perfect for me, and there's no risk of bad voice acting rearing its ugly head because its left to my imagination how characters sound. I'd rather have silence then voice acting that 9 times out of 10, only plays in "important cutscenes" and the rest of the time, dialogue is punctuated by one word exclamations, or noises (I'm looking at you, Fire Emblem: Awakening). Loads of bigger RPG's do this and it always annoys me. Either go fully voice acted, or not at all. I'm fine with either. Also, I don't like how Pikachu and Eevee have their anime voices these days, but none of the other Pokémon do, it makes them sound so out of place. It was cute in Pokémon Yellow, when voice acting in a Game Boy game was super novel, but now? But mandatory slow text speed? That's where I start having issues.
  6. Yes, we all want PMD quality plot in mainline Pokémon games. Hell, I'd settle for Black/White quality. See, Home isn't that much of a deal-breaker for me, because I only use the free version for transferring purposes, and if the time comes when I can finally get my Greninja out of Alola, then I can just pay for a month. I'm concerned that with a hypothetical package deal would encourage TPC to make Home less "free". Funny that you crave that, since Sword/Shield just did this. That said, I would put with any nonsense this game threw at me if it meant that we got PWT 2.0. Fixed that for you.
  7. Today, I learned that I seem to be the only one here who prefers the battling aspect to the collecting. (I'm really not gonna like this game, huh?) Competitive battling being restrained to a monthly subscription is a sure fire way to get me to stop battling. I don't have the money for that. And that would bum me out to no end. I'm only able to keep it going these days because of @Dcubed's NSO family plan. A separate Stadium-like game release would be much more appealing to me, but I'm the weird kind of guy who would actually buy it for the battles. The general audience bought Stadium because it let them see their Pokémon in 3D. It was novel at the time, but now that Pokémon games already do that anyway, it would be a much tougher sell today. Hell, for all we know, Legends: Arceus could be a test run for a collecting-focused game and the next mainline game might be more focused on the battling aspect. Not sure how that would work, mind, you can't battle with Pokémon without first collecting them.
  8. We've got box art! I dig it.
  9. Geez, I guess Serebii's line for spoiler hiding is whether it's shown by official channels or not. Good thing I haven't checked that site today.
  10. Nobuo Uematsu being lower on the playlist then Spice Girls is something I'd never thought I'd see in my lifetime. It's really impressive that the Final Fantasy Prelude is the one song that looks out of place in this Final Fantasy Soundtrack!
  11. Done! 1 unintentional death in Rusty Bucket Bay (Because of course it was there). Got all 24 honeycomb pieces, the three Cheato Cheats, every Bottles Bonus Challenge, and the 7 Stop N' Swop items for what I'm coining "One hundred and Tooie percent". Outside of one small visual effect being missing (reflections in the ice cube enemy), the emulation is perfect. It's really impressive!
  12. I'll be sure to give it a fair crack (At least 2 hours) before starting to think about whether it's for me. It's funny that expecting BotW, but ending up with a Monster Hunter kind of structure is seen as something that could be a detriment to the games credit. Because that's the only reason I turned around on my initial "this is gonna suck" thought. My concern is that the actual battling (my favourite part of the series) will be shunted to being second fiddle, which is the biggest reason why I hated Let's Go.
  13. Add me to the "Doesn't matter how old something is" pile. I happily played EarthBound beginnings, an old-school NES RPG that only got an official release over here during the WiiU era. You've gotta go into these kind of games knowing full well that certain QoL features expected nowadays just weren't a thing back then, and you'll do fine. At least that's how I see it. Long loading times is probably the one thing that I'll try to avoid like the plague if possible, but it's not a deal-breaker.
  14. Enough to know that Decidueye is the third slowest grass starter by memory alone. And I didn't even pick it as my starter in Sun/Moon. Pokédex entries are something I like to read for fun. I also know that Lugia can no longer learn Toxic via TM. I currently have around 80 Pokémon that I'd say I actually use regularly. And that's not counting the ones that are still stuck on the 3DS. That said, I'm guessing that comment about getting to know Pokémon is more about some kind of behavioural traits of wild Pokémon. But honestly? I highly doubt it will reach the standards of something like the anime or Pokémon Snap. A game structured like Arceus wouldn't be able to realistically depict 200 or so creatures with that level of detail in an open environment like that. It's just not realistic. Instead, it might be wiser to interpret that as "You can see the Pokémon, and watch them meander about before interacting with them" Because anything more complex then that, and I'd be shocked.
  15. Only in skateboarding, and not real skateboarding. Video game skateboarding. Only the hippest for me!
  16. I'm insulted! Way to dunk on my National Dex completion over on BD/SP. That took 180 hours of hard work, damnit!
  17. Be forewarned, however, that the GameCube controller lacks a native ZL button, so you won't be able to access the system menu without a second controller connected. (Same goes for the home button and the capture button) Other then that? It's fine for games like Mario 64/Mario Kart/Mario Tennis.
  18. Just want to point out that I literally could not beat the final boss of Banjo Tooie on XBox because the controls were so awful. Doesn't apply to BK, of course. But the emulation quality is so good on NSO! Really impressive, given how troublesome it has been for emulators in the past. Ocarina of Time's Dark Link Room was clearly sacrificed to the emulation gods to get this (and Paper Mario) to run so nice.
  19. Banjo-Kazooie will support Stop N' Swop this time now that it's on NSO, right? ...Right?
  20. Like, I've had some lucky breaks, but the Banzai Bill being right there to save me from Daybreak may just be the luckiest I've ever been!
  21. @Ike, you completely deserved to win that match. That was totally jammy on my part.
  22. And with that... Game Freak are off their rocker. I haven't even reached 500 Pokémon in this National Pokédex yet! Thanks a million, @Julius. Couldn't have done it without you, at least before the Home update drops. @Ugh first aid also helped to get me a few daily swarm Pokémon that I just couldn't get.
  23. Yep, that's a good way to do it. Be there in a couple of minutes.
  24. I assumed you picked your faves out of the spirit of good sportsmanship?
  25. Right, tonight's theme is called. Everyone Else's Favourites I asked the 4 regulars (including myself) to pick their favourite Smash character from each of the 5 Smash games. I may have forgotten to mention that each person can't use the characters they picked. My bad. I've sent each person a picture showing the 15 characters they are allowed to use. Check your PM's if you haven't already. Now just in case someone else decides to jump in this week, you're free to use all 20 characters shown in the spoiler tag. Apart from the Battlefields and Final Destination, the other 20 stages correspond to the 20 characters above. Items are standard fare. Format: Stock FS Meter: On Session starts tonight at 8pm.
