Now that's interesting. Sky High Sundae is completely new!
-
Players Choice tonight at 8pm.
-
You're comparing those two, but one is a SNES game. A SNES game with voice acting and a decent localisation, but it is still a SNES game at heart.
-
No, because it's Kirby Super Star. A bunch of different games that share the same base mechanics, but each have a different gimmick to them. Anyway, I finished the game yesterday. I'll be writing the N-E Review, so I won't be giving my thoughts yet.
-
Might be too late now, but I wouldn't bother using the robot enhancements on Near Future. Yes, I know I said I was just using them as soon as I got them, but that's in the past!
-
Welp, fair warning, best not read this until you've finished the game.
-
That's all 7 chapters done now.
-
Come back in three days, then post that comment.
-
When you say waiting for the sun to rise, you mean sitting at the bar drinking repeatedly, right? Makes time go quicker. Anyway, that reminds me. Question for those who have finished Wild West. Anyway, currently playing Distant Future.
-
Near Future done now. I looked for ages, but couldn't find any optional bosses, I'm gonna assume there's nothing there, seeing as nothing in the tips jumps out at me. Only Distant Future left now.
-
OK, so I've gotten into some nitty gritty with the item upgrade system in Near Future.
-
I managed to get both in my party at one point, but I had to ditch one chasing a superboss, so I'm not sure what would happen if you take them to the end.
-
Ah... Well, that's that sorted then. Can't equip both! You had me worried for a sec...
-
I've deleted every demo and their saves once I got the full game and made a save on that once I continued from the demo data and have had no issues so far. I suppose it means that if I go for a second playthrough, I'll have to start from the beginning, but that's kind of the point?
-
OK, this is just me spitballing, so it might all blow up in my face, but...
-
Huh... Guess I should've expected something like that. It's a weapon though? Can't imagine it's much better then the one the superboss gives you though. 40 attack is pretty damn sweet! EDIT: Oh right. Present Day done, not much else to say about it. I guess it was fun trying to bait the opponents into using their moves so you can learn them. The fighting game aesthetic is also funny. It nails it pretty well. Moving on to Near Future now.
-
Wild West done. It's short, but I'd be damned if it wasn't stylish! Those series of camera shots of the town near the start were really cool. Liked the gimmick too. Very solid chapter. OK, I noticed it after playing the first two chapters, but after Wild West, I'm gonna throw around some thoughts on where this is going. As a reminder, I've done Prehistory, China, Japan and Wild West. So mind the spoilers. Present Day next.

Not actually finished it yet. But I hate stealth, so pretty much everyone who catches me has to die. So naturally, I'm at 86 kills, further proving how awful I am at stealth. I just beat the second superboss. Massive lols from me when I accidentally petrified it! I was only using that skill because it does loads of damage, didn't expect it to actually work! Recorded a video, but can't share it. I guess it's time to go and finish this chapter. The Gameplay Tips don't seem to hint at anything else. EDIT: OK, now I'm done. Better then Prehistory, but traversing the castle was a right pain at times, so I think I enjoyed China more. For a stealth based scenario, it wasn't as dreadful as I thought it would be. Wild West is next for me.

3DS and Wii U eShop purchases to end March 2023
Glen-i replied to Helmsly's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I vaguely remember buying the Spirit of Justice DLC from inside the game. That extra case is great if you like Ace Attorney, BTW. Totally worth it. And coming from someone who loves Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, don't bother with the Gates to Infinity DLC. It adds nothing of real value. I'm glad the two PMD games that have since been released ditched DLC. And definitely don't bother with the first Final Fantasy: Theatrhythm. The sequel, Curtain Call, makes the first game totally redundant. -
Fair warning. I've found 2 superbosses in Edo Japan. Damn you, Gameplay Tips! You're too tantalising!
-
You know you can reload a completed chapter and it will place you at the point right before the final boss of that chapter, right? So you're free to go back and chase anything you missed. I assume you need to beat said boss again if you want to save any changes to equipment or level ups you get though.
-
Imperial China done now. I liked that scenario more then Prehistory. The gimmick is pretty neat. Twilight of Edo Japan is next, I guess. Seems stealth is optional, so it shouldn't be too bad... I hope...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection
Glen-i replied to Helmsly's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Wow, a lot of those features are legit cool. Especially the easy cheat codes one. I was kinda bummed that SNES Turtles in Time doesn't have online multiplayer support, but seeing those features has got my interest reignited a bit. Let me make sure I've got this right, when you say "the original", do you mean the original Mega Drive version? Because if this collection added that option, that would be a really fun addition! -
SLANDER! Anyway, it was obviously @Ike's win there, he was a whole stock ahead. The connection was real iffy today, sorry about that. Hopefully it'll be better next week.

I had a similar thing happen on this fight. Except I sat on one side of the area and just kept spamming Big Shout, which inflicted Terror on him, making him move away from Pogo, by the time he even got close, he couldn't last long. Now, I might be wrong, but I think the AI for enemies works something like "Enemies turn arrives, enemy checks to see if your party is in range, if not, enemy moves" If they move, half their turn guage gets emptied, so they lose half a turn from moving. AI manipulation turned out to be very useful for the superboss. It's very dangerous, but I realised that if I placed Pogo one tile down and one tile right of it, and had Gori stand one down and one right of Pogo, then the boss wouldn't use its really devastating attacks, because I wasn't in range. So it'd use a weaker attack that I was in range of.
