There are viruses that make your PC shut down. What are you using to validate your temperature? Are you using a surge protector, ever have any issues with the electric/sockets in your home? Although you passed Memtest (assuming you used Memtest86), try removing a stick at a time and testing without.

I think they should have an option just for purchased loot boxes where you can scrap the whole thing for credits. That way you could've at least bought a Halloween skin during the event.

Yeah I was starting to think that but... its the exploration that should be setting this game apart. And it's the way I normally would play. Beyond that exploration and the occasional puzzle, it's just fairly ham-fisted firefight sequences (ok if you're in the woods but many fights are small room, minimal cover and too many enemies, feels like throwing lots of explosives is the only real way to get ahead) and a lot of scripted running-away-from-things-that-are-collapsing sequences. It also contains my biggest personal gaming bugbear: collectibles only read out their contents as long as you have them open. This should always be done the Bioshock way, where you can keep playing and listen to the audio alongside it. Maybe I need to give it another go... in the first area I was really, really enjoying it, the Baba Yaga DLC was great and I adored the first game. One last solid attempt, I'll push on with the story a bit and see what happens

People who've finished this, what did you think about the game once you got into the geothermal valley? I haven't initiated "the battle" yet, but I suddenly found my interest in the game tanked as it was just a repeat of the first areas' mechanics but suddenly not fun or new or interesting. Animals that take 20 arrows (is this a call back to Tomb Raider 2?), fetch quests that anyone could do (kill two boars that are literally 15 metres away and 2 mushrooms you were already carrying), awkward platforming sections (swing from a branch into a scramble half-way up a tower? how is that possible) and a bunch of challenge caves blocked off by arbitrary abilities that feel like they have one singular, unrealistic application like the spinning top from Twilight Princess... Unless someone says it picks back up I might have to give up here :/

I actually just watched the finale and it was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. There wasn't an ounce of relationship drama and team Arrow looks like it's slimming down. If it was up to me it would all be GA. If it improves from that it's all good.

If Mario Kart came with frequent updates of free characters, maps and modes for several years!

That kind of multiplayer? How about an Assassins Creed game? Brotherhood introduced one of my favourite multiplayer games ever, especially for being so different in pace and approach to CoD. The Ezio Collection is out soon and might be a good place to start. Or for team-based and tactical but still a lot of running and gunning, Overwatch. Uncharted 4 is obviously the same people and same third person multiplayer. I don't know much about TLoU's multiplayer to compare though, does it have one team playing as the zombs? For single player, the new Tomb Raider or Bioshock Collection, similar in their own ways.

110GB is a bit small these days. If you don't use an external to store the majority of large installations and expect it to be functional as a gaming laptop, you will certainly run into these problems. I know that's not much help. Check out the free program WinDirStat to see if there's anywhere you're using up a lot of space that you might not have thought of. Disk cleanup might get rid of a lot of old installation files etc.. 512GB SSDs have dropped quite a lot in price over the last year. Once your current issue is fixed you might want to consider an upgrade. I know what you're saying about the plug-and-play simplicity of a console but at least with a computer you have options when you run out of room. With a PS4 on the other hand whilst you can easily upgrade to 2TB, once you've filled that you're stuffed.

In fairness if someone was coming to view my house I wouldn't want to waste my time on anyone who hadn't seen a mortgage advisor yet. Browse online and see what you could afford, sure. But make appointments, have the vendor out of the house, give them hope that their new purchase might gain traction? It's not the same as renting where they're 90% likely to get it as long as they have a job. You need to be able to prove you have savings, insurance options, months of regular income, a good credit rating etc.. If you saw a place and you wanted it, you wouldn't be able to put in an offer because you would have no real idea what you could afford (even if you know you have 10%, doesnt mean you can afford the fees as well, or the monthly repayments).

Appreciate the opinion but it does no good for us drawing in new users. I also think from a usability standpoint it's no use to existing users, either. 2 threads containing every bit of good and bad news that happens in our lives hides a large amount of the forum's content in previous pages nobody is ever going to peruse, and as such people might easily miss content they could contribute to. It makes the page look more stagnant, too. Online Gaming, I have no idea why a separate board for that survived the previous merge, an oversight I think.

Anything! There's been some bizarre misconception amongst some people that we have been keen to police new threads, to force them into bigger, "megathreads" etc. This has never been the case! In fact, quite the opposite, we encourage new threads whenever one seems like a good idea. A few people lately have started threads with "I'm not sure if this is supposed to be here" or "I'm not sure if this is meant to have its own thread" (*cough* @ReZourceman) when it's actually what we like to see the most. Tech Chat, Creative and Playground have all been merged into General Chit Chat too. I'm sure it's clear but the idea of that is not to quash these topics but to put them all in the same place. Want to show off your photography, or art work? Or just your new forum signature? General Chit Chat is fine. Got a tech question or want to talk mobile phones? Gen chit chat. Same for forum games, mafia etc, go nuts. Of course Nintendo threads should be in the Nintendo board and threads relating to other consoles and their games have their place too. General gaming still has its place, for now. Never shy away from a new thread!

It happens with me with certain users sometimes. I think it's an issue with the quote plugin not being able to deal with some characters in the post or the user's name. I can never quote @Sméagol for example. I'm not sure it can be resolved right now as we don't have a license for updates anymore.

I could play great Mario (+Kart), Zelda and Metroid games until the end of time. They can make new iterations of these three IPs forever and I'd be happy. My problem with them is that the quality of them has declined not through repetition or stagnation but because for some reason they can't seem to see what made the best games so popular.

I don't think brexiters wanted parliament to have more of a say than its people... /devils-advocate I also don't think this will stop brexit. But hopefully it will at least prevent us leaving without a proper plan.
