PS2 and xbox were abundantly installed in the gamer's user base. This means when a game comes out, they know they'll sell more- there is more competition in the market for the lowest prices and also when they are returned as pre-owned more gamers will return driving prices lower. I saw a pre-owned copy of RE4 the other day for £32, and next to it was the sealed version for £30. Smaller installed userbase, the majority of retailers stop stocking GameCube games and they few that do have a monopoly- they can charge whatever the hell they want as you can see from the above example. The answer? Reject retailers and buy second hand.

Yeah I immediately called fake- but really this is a great idea, remember Guarana? we all called the bullshit card on him and 2 hours later the Game Informer magazine screens popped up. I'm going to be a little more cautious, it just too good to not be true if that makes sense. One criticism or flaw in the post was that he was unsure about the microphone- if it's not in the controller.. and it's using the nunchuck just where to we plug in the microphone? No big deal though, I personally think it should be in the controller as standard..

As I say, pinch of salt- this is from a forum, a unnamed source has leaked this (apparently from Nintendo Power) Even if it is just an elabourate attention seeking forum whore, it's still an interesting concept. We'll have to wait for the new Nintendo Power to see if it is legit. Sounds rad to me.

OMG finally, that is awesome! It's not dolby pro logic 2, it's Dolby Surround sound, that is really great news, the GDC box didn't have this- I really really hope that digital surround is standard. No it is not an internet cable- it's for sound (because it's located next to the AV cable on the chipset) The system looks like a really solid construction.

I don't like that there is heavy use of guns.. and I don't like that it is a female. In many ways Cloud was a whingey little girl- definitely more so when stood next to Tifa. Who wears purple parachute pants? I think if the characters maintain the depth that the X, X-2 and XI lacks and the others (12 included I'm sure) then this will be a killer. The battle system could make the game refreshing and change the pace of the game entirely.. it's a new gender for the lead role and the scale of things just suggests this world is going to be huge and varied- much like 7 and 9. I am excited about this.

IT SCREAMS FINAL FANTASY 7. the style, the atmosphere of some of the screens.. sure it's a little more modern than what the majority of Final Fantasy offered outside of Midgar.. but if previous screens from Final Fantasy games are anything to go on I'd say these are taken from the first hour or two of the game. Final Fantasy 8 screens came- and they were just 30 minutes in at a local town, 9 were all based around Vivi in the opening titles and a little with Zidane.. I am rambling but this has both my eye brows raised. It could be a PS3 seller.

As they've only worked on one game so far (according to IGN) and they've not got a great deal of experience/credentials i'm not going to take them that seriously. It's 'just another game' to me at this point.. and seeing as they're coming from a MMORPG background that makes me feel less enthusiastic that they will bring anything original to the console. I was reading somewhere that a port can take 2 guys a weekend to do if all goes to plan smoothly.. I'll gladly listen up but if it's just another movie tie in or comic book game i'm not interested.

Cheers, I appreciate your honest feedback, it's amazing a week after the event this is the first I've heard of system crashing on the floor. I think Mario Galaxy offers more than what Sunshine did over 64 because the controller. The GameCube wasn't much of an evolution.. but the controller is a step up- providing it is varied and not repetitive like Sunshine. Then i'll be satisfied. I think we need to 'give it up' we'll never get another 64. Probably wont bother with WarioWare- better suited to portables I think. Can you tell us more about Red Steel's gesturing system? I think it could make or break the title for many people.

Can we just have a Wii opinion thread from video games creators? Everyone has an opinion on this console- you can' ignore it. It's getting a bit boring every time some B lister praises it everyone is like "OMG THERE COULD BE A GAME FROM THIS PERSON" when in fact the majority of people who express praise for it will not actually make a game for it. Fair doos megaman is a pretty legendary title and no disrespect to the creator- but I don't give a shit what you have to think. Tell us if you're making a game or not- otherwise quit yo' jibba jabba. The same applies to all other developpers, this cock teasing is quite lame post E3. It's free advertising basically: Sony says "we like the Wii" press goes "OMG SONY PRESIDENT LIKES THE WII PLAYSTATION 3 ADVERTISING" and people read it and go "OMG LOL" Then Microsoft do the same thing. They are just riding the popularity wave of the Wii to shift their own shit.
