It is not impossible that it does both though, it's wrong to assume that the orientation video is the only purpose.

Jasper I was just parodying a fanboy.. THQ make some shitty games, but kids love them so they'll sell through the roof EA you're right are never bad (except n-gage, mobile phone and GBA games) and Ubisoft are showing a lot of new ideas as you mention.. personally I think Rayman is more mini game fun than anything (in a crowded market place) I'm out of the loop with these developpers.. but I've played Burnouts, Broken Sword, SSX and the Sims in my day. They are a contribution that will sell but afaic they're a game that is not all that to me anymore. Console eco system.. got to have one to have the other I suppose.

Human rights and disputed cost to the tax payer, also Christians love the idea of forgiveness. I am against the death sentence.. but sometimes it's the most workable solution.

He got a shitty trial. Too m any of his lawyers and witnesses were murdered because the CIA denied them the proper protection an American citizen would get in a similar position. Justice for all my ass. Irrespective of that.. Saddam was a dictator, whether it is for us to decide what is right for a country's way of life is a tough one. I find it very hypocritical that people say they were against the war because there were no WMD's but they justify it because Saddam was a dictator.. He did some fucked up shit, but it's not our place to comment on a world that is so alien to us. Personally I was against the war on the grounds it was originally based upon (45 minute worldwide nuclear attacks) but Saddam should have been removed from power solely for human right's abuse. It sets a bad example for a generation of Iraqis.

Ali G ain't got nothing on chavs todays like.. they're all fucking lady boys and into Drum and Bass. There's nothing to parody because it's so diverse. I know well loads of safe chavs now and I am a skateboarder (greebo). Ali G is dead. -
everything from Ubisoft, EA and THQ and that Tony Hawks game. AAA titles for the win.

put simply, yes. it's hardly alien.. when you consider Madden, Fifa.. NBA etc.. Thing is, now we have flash games online.. with a quick google you can find something just as entertaining. Only advantage is this is multiplayer.

Just like a lady boy is a lady. Back your statements up guv.. my theory has some kind of sense to it. Where as yours contradicts the idea that Nintendo wants to lower development and production costs. This would explain the confusion at the last minute regarding the system being region locked. Pump out a disc and region lock the system.

This thread has nothing to do with my personal attacks against Nintendo Europe. It is to do with the start up disc.
-
I have European Cube games.. but I am sick of the waiting, Nintendo USA is more succesful for a reason.
-
Nintendo say they want to lower production costs.. ideally making one international unit. But they want to keep it region locked too.. how will they do it? If in the factory, they make one unit.. then pack it in a box, with the localised manuals, cables and start up disc. They could trick people into putting their region in this start up process.. thus localising it by the user and saving Nintendo money on the production line. I'll explain, for each region you will get a start up disc. Nintendo Europe will bundle a European disc in with the international Wii.. when you plug it in, to set up the Wii you have to enter your country, name.. etc. This data is then registered to the Wii, and you have regionalised your console without knowing it. Nintendo simply puts different discs into the console box, installs the OS and it's locked for life (or until a reset perhaps) Lets say, some nice American puts the disc image of the American disc online.. Europeans download it, burn it and put it in their Wii. What is the chance that the Wii will accept this, regionalise it as a US console. Following that allow you to download US virtual consoles and play NTSC games? Obviously there are some hardware limitations.. and I know a burnt disc off the net might not work (how about importing one direct from a friend or eBay) It makes sense.. it lowers production costs, and resolves regionalisation problems. The only thing that made me think of this is because a firmware update before the system is released smelt fishy.. why would they flash the BIOS with a non tested operating system?

Never bothered.. WarioWare and Monkey Ball have always kept me satisfied. Personally if I am sad enough to have a entertainment based party Smash Bros. is the only way to go.
-
Was gonna make a thread about it a couple of months ago.. but so little is known it's effectively vapourware/tech demo at the moment. I'm not sure if this game is financially viable even to 'non gamers' that they keep going on about.

US imported consoles access the US service, YES!!!
Nintendork replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Disadvantaged- Europe has PAL60 with progressive scan, the states is getting NTSC50 with progressive scan I think. Lower resolution, better colour pallete but more flickery screen. It voids all your PAL GameCube games, you have to import everything. Advantages, better release dates, better prices, better selection.. less delays, virtual console coolness. I am probably going to import unless Nintendo Europe sorts out this whole "funk you attitude" with regard to the virtual console. EDGE states that you have to import, virtual console points, the system and games to make this work *until chipping comes along* A lot of effort.. but worth it I think. --- I'm no expert with regard to the video output on US systems.. but what are the advantages and disadvantages? Is there any way around them without hacking? -
GAME stole my grandmother. BOLOX, also.. this works well for condoms too.
-
That should make calibration more of a pleasure than a chore.. does it say how often? or is it a one off? Because learning a different calibration for each game could get a bit laborious.. would be better standardized if it is every time you boot up/change game.
-
No thanks, I'll buy 15 pints instead, it will be more fun.
-
If GAME have Wii's.. and you make a pre-order they will not be obliged to refund you with cash. If they definitely cannot allocate you one, then under trading standards laws they have broken their agreement and will offer you cash back or give you an idea of how long you have to wait. But if they're in stock (and production says they will be) then chances are they'll say store credit or buy the damned console. As they have met their part of the deal. If you play your cards right you could buy from one shop.. go back, get a store credit and buy Wii Points/other games or whatever you need. But they might not give you that option of a store credit.
-
It makes sense, but also makes no sense. I guess it will be bundled with the classic controller. It still makes no sense to me. Why wouldn't you be able to rest it on your lap?

I see a divide forming between Red Steel fanboys and Ubisoft haters. Let the wars begin. If I had to choose I'd be with the Ubisoft haters.. I admit they're showing good support (compared to Codemasters playing stoically) but this game is not going to be godly. It's not what Gears of War is to the 360 this Winter.
