I think that's the main delusion of fanboys. People still want PPP rooms, Pool, Porn and PlayStation. The only case in popular culture where I see the 360 being really trumped by someone influential is Chris Moyles. Who often states how much he loves Fifa and Table Tennis, Microsoft even sent him one on launch day for free.

I'd be suprised if the Opera download doesn't include drivers for a generic USB keyboard and mouse (wired) Why can't you just use your computer? Wii isn't really made for fluid surfing.

Terribly sad and Justified are not compatible really. The first suggests that mature Nintendo fans could have tolerated it. The latter suggests otherwise. Personally attacking Jeff was wrong.. I doubt he'll lose sleep over it, I'm sure it's an 'in' joke in the GameSpot office. But he's gonna have a tough time getting a job should he ever want to leave GameSpot and work as a named journalist. I wouldn't hire him after the shit storm it caused.

"So here's out cast-iron copper-bottomed, prediction for the future: It's going to be a pricey time to be a gamer." As with all niches the only thing that will corrode it, is the desire to do all 3 niches better than the other two. Sony perhaps is biting more off than it can chew. I think a niche is better than trying to do everything under one house.

Sony is still the king of cool in America, Europe and Japan with the people who can afford to buy this system. They are loyal to the brand, the exclusive games like WipeOut, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, F1 and Gran Turismo. Sony will do well, not as well as the PS2 but I think this generation is going to be fairly close. Each system has a niche.. The 360 has those who want a solid online service and PC like games in their living room. The Wii is affordable and classic fun for the whole family The PS3 is a multimedia platform which in the 16-25 year old's domain. Remains the coolest thing money can buy. Sony will lose out, Microsoft will up their market share somewhat, Nintendo will increase radically. You have to remember Microsoft is backing the 360, so it will never die out of the spotlight, and Nintendo is making a profit from the system launch.. they're not going to pull a Sega on us. Sony however have their hands tied, they're losing money.. treating consumers poorly with delays. It's not gonna be an easy ride for them.

Yeah okay, also new caption is up.

This is what I'm talking about.. I hope this is a move that other scorers follow suit with: The most exciting change is GFW's new scoring system. In a ballsy move, GamesForWindows has recalibrated their score system: a score of 5 out of 10 is "average." Anything above a five is "above average" and anything below five is "below average." Games that previously might have earned 8 or 9 might now be earning scores of 6 or 7! Let's see how long they'll stick to their guns on this one, as they're sure to catch a lot of heat from game publishers. Stay strong, guys! You're on the side of the gamer with this change. Joystiq supports it (not that they bother doing reviews these days..)

It plays old video games on my TV.

Reggie loves his job.

It didn't crash, it just stopped reading the discs. It could be a faulty disc but I'm more inclined to believe it's a faulty Blu Ray drive. gmanprime, not sure where you live but 48 isn't that many. My local game store really struggled with 115 XBOX 360 units, and that was the biggest store in town.

It's rebelling against consumerism, a cold wake up call to all the people obsessed by the things they own. I've got the latest iPod, an XBOX 360, a HDTV, a LV watch and a PS3. In fact I have none of those, but I think they're doing a good job.. they only take donations to cover the cost of the system and hosting the video. I think it's good. Wildo I think that was quite noticeable at many of the PS3 launches, there wasn't much atmosphere or gaming discussion because many of them didn't know a thing about gaming. This system is merely an investment.

We stole a housewife set a few weeks back. An ironing board and a mop! Felt kind bad because they both looked like they were out for trash.. but as I sobered up they immediately felt brand new. Oh well. I left it in the town centre so I'm sure it made it's way back to them somehow.

Meh, would rather have a MAME cab.

Actually you'll find the UK has sold more copies of Nintendogs than Japan. Not that your logic is any good. How can a game that people go crazy over be bad? Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, A Link to the Past and Okami all got 39/40 scores. edit stroke means or not score. If there is any 'true' way to measure a games score, on a perfectly even field THIS IS IT. Famitsu will have to be 100% consistent, otherwise Twilight Princess will be living in a shadow and their reputation may be in tatters.
-
Nintendogs is a chicks game, Famitsu gave that 40/40. That's not even an original concept.. it's based on the already succesful Tamagotchi concept. Without The Sims we certainly wouldn't have Animal Crossing or Nintendogs though, no Black and White. The Sims did more than you think, and Sim City before it. Zelda has done all it can, the technology has plateaued and the control scheme is merely an extension. 9/10 or thereabouts is reasonable.

Experts suggest that a PS3 could last 10 years? My friend's lasted 30 minutes. Then it stopped reading the discs.
-
You're mocking the Sims? It's the best selling game ever. It was so simple in concept that everyone (else) loved it.

Tetris is perfect. Pac Man is perfect. MYST was perfect. The Sims was perfect. There are many perfect games. A sequel can be 10/10 if it pioneers the genre, pushes the hardware, preserves the excellence of previous titles, offers a new experience to veterans worthy of the retail price. The Sims 2, Myst sequels (apart from the Ubi ones) were all rad, and that's why they were succesful. TP will always live in Ocarina's shadow.. while the game stays in history, people change. This is why I think there is a generation of people who are adamant FFVII and Ocarina are the best games ever made.

My friend had one of those NES buckles.. but he stopped wearing it because he kept having dreams about his friends playing on it while he was naked. He didn't divulge any further but I can only hope I wasn't involved. [/off topic] I don't dream/remember my dreams if I have them.

The ability to play DVDs on Wii is a software update, in theory it could be downloaded from the Wii shop. It has a North America (someone read the developper's small print) release and Japan release planned for late 2007, which is too late in most people's eyes. Because HD penetration will be so high. It may coincide with a price drop, it may merely be available in the new Wiis. Hard to say until there is a proper press release. I think it's likely they'll just issue a licensed software download with the ability to play DVDs.

I don't think a man needs more than one watch. I also think a man is not a man unless he works for what he has. I attacked him because he criticised my watch solely because it was cheap.

shit, shower, shave, shirt. then a cup of tea and some porridge, it has to be easy to make because I am not in the mood for operating any kind of recipe at that kind of hour. it's been a few years since i was getting drunk so bad that i couldn't remember things, i puked on a guys sofa at this house party.. got so drunk i was falling all over the place, ran for the bus and clearly missed it and was found using a kerb as a pillow on a main road. some chick gave me a lift home with her brother and i was trying so hard to act sober. well funny.

I also know someone who works shelf stacking. They are funking intolerable of people stealing stuff. Apparently all the night staff aren't allowed to talk and they had a picnic once, walking around just opening butter and making sandwiches. They all got fired. I wish I could get a job at my local but they have a University 10 minutes walk away that has an abundant amount of students that seem to get priority.

I actually think it looks plasticy next to the PS3.

I'm trying to do what you're about to fail at. That sucks.
