  1. GAME HQ are advising against it. I would happily mug (as in not hurt them but steal their stuff) someone walking off with £700 worth of PS3 hardware. Who would stop me? Honestly.. For an event organised by Cake Media this is starting to sound rather poorly organised.. someone should fire them.
  2. it was £300 actually
  3. I heard they're pretty expensive on the moon too.. Thing is, if that's how much it costs in Kuwait, the living costs and wages for your average Kuwaitee will be directly proportional. In theory.
  4. Not a bad reply yet, all of them made me laugh.
  5. /me wonders why this thread was not titled 'Two Wiiks To Go'
  6. Yup, if they're getting 20 units, and you're 13. It's a 700% chance of you getting a unit. Supposing the first two statements are true.
  7. On the interwhat you can download wireless shows to your generic fruit based mp3 player. Apparently the kids call them podcasts. Which ones do you listen to? Tell me about them, I'm particularly interested in comedy ones because the video games ones are typically very uninspiring. Ricky Gervais has some free podcasts atm (one out today, one out halloween and a third to come on Christmas) Feed. put that into iTunes. Russell Brand has a podcast for his ridiculous slot on BBC Radio 2 (at 10pm) which nobody is going to listen to.. so the podcast is a bit of a saviour. There's also a 4colorrebellion podcast which has been down for a few weeks because the staff have things going on at the moment. But it should commence soon. Moylesy has a podcast, as do Adam and Joe (probably my favourite) Your turn. Why did I post this in the Wii forum? Doy. It was meant for General.
  8. I don'ts got one. just think lucky.
  9. Disney is pretty protective of it's content I think. Everything has to be in house (which is why they've just opened a studio solely for Nintendo-Disney games) I don't think they'll end up on the Virtual Console solely because kids won't want to play average Nintendo games when they could be playing Disney/Pixar movie license at full price.
  10. Yeah it supports folders.. but it doesn't reckognise them, it just ploughs the primary folder for .mp3s.
  11. I think the problem is that people percieve council estates as uber violent places where there is no community. When in fact there is often more communal spirit in working class areas than in suburban middle class areas. (where how you park your car can cause a neighbourhood war) Of course the children have problems, their parents can't steer them straight because they're working 40 hour shifts to keep their families afloat. The idea that everyone on a council estate is on benefit illegally, housing immigrants and travelling 'gypsies' is just as gross misconception as the idea that everyone who is upper middle class is stuck up.
  12. How about the scent of a Gyspy then? http://www.onlinepoundshop.com/detail/45/1632/index.htm
  13. Not pointless, discount direct is marking up the console's price. Either that or they're giving you something else that is not in the description. It looks like a pretty shady and unprofessional site anyway. Indie stores are apparently getting in their PS3s and just putting them on eBay.. because they are not accountable to a national retailer head office they can get away with making a quick buck. Then all the gamers come around to support their local independant gamer store "sorry kids, we're all sold out" I read about it in a newspaper but can't find the article online. It's common practice though.. because publishers put strain on these stores this is their way to fight back against Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft.
  14. It was misleading, no more and no less misleading than the XBOX (box) that sold for $600. But the name goes hand in hand.
  15. You don't really think WALMART (the equivalent of ASDA) would get away with charging $400 mark up. Supermarket shoppers are all bargain hunting zombies. The second link appears to be quite a markup though, $650 unit and it only comes with Zelda.. so that's $$$ profit or so. Still quite harsh but cheaper than your average eBayer. The 8 game bundle is so popular it's sold out.
  16. If you actually click the link those prices are for bundles. Wii + 8 games ain't bad at that price. Large retailers have the buying power to offer lower prices on electronics etc.. the real money is in the mark up on food. That's why in TESCO you can pick up a cheap CD.. but they don't profit on this, they profit on the beans man.
  17. 20 - 13 = 7. You have a 700% chance of getting a Wii launch unit from your store under this. For more information consult your local maths teacher. Safety in numbers.
  18. Of course he does, reviews control the world.. it's all corporate string pulling by the reviewers who secretly control the earth's economy. Reviewer: Japan? I give them a 6.6. Stock brokers: SELL STOCKS IN HELLO KITTY SELL! SELL! Don't get me started on Which? magazine!
  19. You are allowed to not ship if it was an error. Which this was. It's perfectly reasonable for him to refuse shipping, and the buyer would have no leg to stand on should he want to press for his item.
  20. Geezers need excitement, if their lives don't provide 'em this they'll incite to violence. Simple. Common. Sense. Streets quote, not that any of you would know because you're all (not all) to busy blaming people and not looking to solutions. Stereotyping and prejudicing get you no-where. Oh the police won't do anything so I'll post on the internet. Talk to you councillor.
  21. Western adults can't interface with avatars like that.
  22. I love how everyone is investing in HD TV now when organic LED (OLED) is just around the corner. It only has a few problems with lifespan of the blue diodes right now.
  23. Shielding your children from that kind of stuff turns them into the same people that you are. Why not let the children try and integrate? Treating one side as normal and the other as reprobates on alienates your community. All this talk of respect sounds like this person is treating her household as an outsider.. there appears to be no attempt to integrate with the community. This attitude that you can take everything into your own hands (with respect of course) and champion them is wrong. This person would no doubt be better in a place like this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documentaries/features/united-gates.shtml Where sociodemographic backgrounds are not a problem.. because everyone is the same.
  24. Currently playing: Phoenix Wright, Killer7, Resident Evil (GC) and Ocarina of Time. That should fill the void.. strangely I'm not playing them that hardcore though.. maybe I'm saving myself for the virginal Wii experience.
