Now this is what I would call an extreme mod
-
I got my info from here read the first paragraph in "the legacy of betamax"
-
HD-DVD will win but the blu ray would be better. Blu ray will probably fail because of sony's greediness. (Beta vs VHS anyone?)
-
Didn't think that far ahead as I have only used ones with plastic handles with electronics So why do you suggests that shaking it would be his best bet? IMO that would brake it even more.
-
This is what I don't understand, why do some people just think that when it comes to computer components they can't be fixed? Just as Jamba said open it, find every tiny bit of the disc that was shattered. Use tweezers as static electric from your hand can damage the electronics in the drive.

Worse still is the fact that a slimline PS2's hasn't got a "power off" - mode (other than unplugging the power plug) If it's plugged in it's constantly in a standby- mode. Seems like some components (or worse a chip) has broken inside the console. If it's a simple one like a capacitor/diode/resistor it's pretty easy to fix (you can use a soldering iron can't you ) Just a quote I found on a discussion group. Edit: I just remembered I know a guy who had a PS1 which only worked when it was in a 45 degree angle. You could try that. And wasn't the slimline PS2's power adapters somehow faulty? You should probably check if it is here

Or you could just try reinstalling XP without formatting. That way you could get the files backed up and then format and install it again.

"I choose the banjo!" -Guybrush "I accept!" - The other guy "You do?" - Guybrush And this quote comes from the curse of monkey island

That's because I heven't gotten into blender that much, tried to make it less shiny, but couldn't find out what was making it that bright.

Try setting the resolution of the game lower(try 800*600) and set detail levels to low in the options->system menu. Also check that it's using 16bit textures, and that dynamic lighting is off. And enable low detail sky. Edit: here's some settings: Resolution: 800*600 Color depth: 16bit Fullscreen:yes Geometric detail: Low Texture detail: Low Filtering: Bilinear Detail textures: off depth buffer: default If it still is slow, then you really need to get a better graphics card.
-
just checked the msi website, your motherboard supports 2Gb of RAM maximum, so you can get more when you need it. And it doesn't have an integrated graphics chip. And there's an AGP slot to which you can connect a decent graphics card. And you can upgrade to P4 processor if you want to.

Here's my first 3d model: Made the model with blender (finally got around to learning it's basic interface) The texture in the handle sucks, but it's the best I could do without any "real" wooden texture. The knife itself was modelled (poorly) after a knife I got for my bithday. It helped me last year in the army to make a fire out of completely soaked tree branches And the sphere is there just to show off the reflection on the knife. When I get the inspiration I'll probably make a better model of it.

Here it usually takes 3-6months to get a license. And costs about 1200€ (820£). There's a number of theory lesson that you have to go through before you can take the theory exam. And then there's a certain amount of driving lessons that you have to go through before the actual test. And then there's a driving lesson on driving on slippery surfaces. That's all part of "phase 1" "Phase 2" consist of a couple of theory lessons (fuel efficient driving, driving when it's slippery etc.) And also a driving lesson where you put the things you learned in the classroom to use. And again the you are taken to a slippery track where you get to see how much speed affects to stopping distance on Ice/snow. And learn to control your car if it goes to a slide. And it costs some more but can't remember how much. And there's one separate lesson which teaches night driving. There's nothing more fun than taking a rear-wheel drive car to some abandoned gravel road in the winter. Had tons of fun back when I was thirteen or so with my mums old Corolla 69'

Well I suppose it's related to where I live. And the Rasmus as I remember first hearing their music about ten years ago. It was the girls's favourite and back then the girls were like; "yuck " Not really my favourite music, but a good band nonetheless. Liked the apocalyptica song Bittersweet where Lauri sings a bit. And I'm not ill right now, but if this kind of weather (it's ~-30'C outside) continues, I'll probably be pretty soon. And it's not helping that my PC is in a room that has a temperature of 10-15'C because of poor 50 year old insulation.

I would be just happy to own two x850 xt crossfires, playing new games etc, not worrying about my benchmarking score and lack of SM3.0 support But the benchmark probably gives it a bit too much weight in final score if it affects the score that badly.
-
Well the release cycle used to be about two years(first 01 then 03 then 05, leaving the 01SE out bacause it was just an update) , so then it made sense to have the most current graphic gimmicks and such implemented. But for some reason the cycle is now only a year, so maybe they hadn't got the time to make something new? Just tweaked the proxycon a little. Well lets hope that the next one will be better. Can't even be arsed to download the 06 because it would probably look like a slide show on my 9700 Pro. And for the reasons it requires sm3. It would also be unfair benchmark for the high end cards if it wouldn't have the support for it. And the X850 XT certainly isn't slow(but it isn't ultra high end either), the lack of sm3.0 support is one reason not buy it.

Usually drink lots of water/warm blackcurrant juice. Lie down in bed and thinking of ways how to overcome an obstacle in a game. This is how I figured how to get the last skulltula in OOT. Had a slight fever and it just suddenly hit me And btw Owen, you're probably the first male the rasmus fan I have ever seen

I try to go to bed before 1am so that in the morning I wouldn't be so tired. I can sleep pretty much anywhere (Spend the last year in the army, learned that sometimes 5min of sleep can work wonders) I also have an annoying habit of shutting the alarm clock in my sleep. This really sucks if I have plans to do something in the morning.

Go with sennheiser as I think they have a better audio quality. I have this one http://www.sennheisercommunications.com/eprise/main/SennheiserCommunications/com/Products/CNT05_Pro-Gaming?ProductId=PC150 Altough the sound quality isn't what it was in my previous headphones (Sony MDR-CD380) But it has a microphone. I'm pretty satisfied with mine.

Or if you have a DV camera which has an analog input you can record the game with it. And transfer the video to your PC via firewire.

Think of the benchmark as what could be done in PC games now or near future. It's not a reason to leave a feature out of a benchmarking program just because current games don't support it. While I do agree with you that the series went downhill from 3dmark05. I expected that at least the "game demo" would run smoothly as it did in 3dmark2001 with a relatively slow system. But no, it was some places even slower than the benchmark itself. And using synthetic benchmarks to measure real game performance isn't the best way to go. Because some games are optimised for nvidia cards and some to the ati ones.

EA is kinda like the hollywood of games. The games that they make have are great to watch, the sound effects are great but they lack character. For example the call of duty 2. With a decent surround setup it's a real treat. But as far as war games go it can't compete with Operation Flashpoint.

Well let's see.. the fact that you couldn't speak is a sign of forbidden thoughts. Being in the tunnel means that you're distressed. Geting out of the tunnel points to rebirth. The woman and the children may mean a lot of things, but none of those is negative. Mom is symbol of safety, warmth and love . It also might refer to lack of intependence. I'm not sure what a noose is, but guessing that it's the rope that is used to hang people. It's also a sign of distress. The blood is the symbol of vigour of body and mind Sounds like you have something on your mind that is bothering you. Got this from a dreambook that I have at home.
