Just started Chapter 4. Holy crap that's a huge kick-up for pg/exp/jp! Switched Ringabel to Ninja. It's okay. He's twinning a Kotetsu and a Raijin-something or other. Second ability is Thief, but it means I lose Ranger target weakness skills. I can Abilink someone with Mug, though, giving me the best of all of them. But it's cheating, right?

If you're planning on buying all super expensive items it'd probably be best to get the money doubler first, then you can use it to get your money back faster to buy all the other stuff. You can also stack money increase with the Merchant ability "More Money", but it doesn't stack with the item money increaser. Some guy on Gamefaqs says the opposite though (that the ability doesn't stack with others with the ability, but DOES stack with item money increaser) claiming it says that on the Japanese Description I can honestly say I've no idea, even having used the More Money on multiple characters, since I never noticed how much I was getting anyway. I tend just to stick to what it says in the English one.

It does look fun.

I do think they're split on resources. Neither is truly living up to star potential 1st party games wise. I don't think any will tank, but the way I play games these days (mostly 3DS) I wouldn't be sad if Nintendo junked the TV/console and stuck to their portables.

Senran Kagura Burst is about the only game I'm looking forward to. Should be fun gameplay (and y'know). ^For more scrolling beaters there's a PS3 game called Dragon's Crown, which is just all swooshin' awesome. It's out of course but I haven't got it yet. The Witch and the Hundred Knights also looks awesome (not out) but it's got no bloody co-op. There's a bit of ARPG swish to them. I'd look forward to the main console games more if my setup was more accessible (main room...ALWAYS someone watching TV, or someone else playing games. Usually I only play on the big screen if it's co-op now). Which unfortunately, is my only real good option at the moment. My portables have been my main gaming source for years now. I enjoyed the first Inazuma 11, but sold my copy of 11-2 when I heard about the trilogy copy and rumours of a UK release...which then never happened. I may play catch-up. Undecided. Kirby's look fun, but I'm like 3-4 Kirby's behind. I know there's no story issue, but with gameplay improvements, playing past games after will make them seem "less". I enjoyed Shantae on the eShop, so will probably get that sequel (huge backlog of eShop games withstanding).

^LOL I always take all my four goes at once apart from Agnes who's my healer, who I use "as needed". I have it set to 4x battle speed too. I tried normal speed yesterday after most of the game at 4x and it was unbearable. It should be noted that it skips summon animations, so if I do any I turn it off. As for class mixes, I try not to mix magic and physical strength characters. Since weapons usually give big strength or magic boosts, it seems wasteful. I guess there's "averaging out" but I go one way or the other. Just my play style. There's probably exceptions though (maybe Sword Sorcerer? Or some future job I haven't got). There is one thing about this game I don't like though; there appears to be no way to over-level jobs without normal over-levelling, ultimately making it pointless because you become uber. I wanted a bit more strategy by getting new skills, only to become tanks that barely need the skills/abilities I'd just earned.

Summon (not to be confused with the actual summon skill) and Abilink are the cheats. Special is just basically special moves (like Limit Breaks from FF7), except you get to augment them and even name your own. Renamed most of mine and my characters say new stuff. You get parts from the shops you upgrade in Norende. Just made Agnes a Salve-Maker. It's main skill is insane, double healing whether it be magic or item usage. It makes White Mage essentially useless (MIND may be higher on WM, but the double healing makes it irrelevant). It's even S with staff so you've got super healing specials, too. A potion and phoenix down nets you a 5000HP raise. It's just overkill. Then you've got super magic attack skills easy to combine that I assume will do mad damage, though obviously these items are harder to come by. I think the game intends you to keep switching to next jobs that you get, them sort of being upgrades to previous jobs rather the jobs being anywhere equal in power/range etc. I have to admit I haven't really used the Summoner, and there doesn't really seem to be many. I did go visit Susano-O and got trashed. Guess I got to prepare to survive THAT one. (You know the owl men you sometimes meet? After you get the Summoner ability, go visit them...save first though). Still only on chapter 3 as I'm taking it REALLY slow. Just spent ages reading almost everything in D's Journal. It certainly sheds light on a lot of things, doesn't it? Can't believe I didn't even know the name of the world until today. The journal seems to be an essential part of the plot as far as I can tell (no spoilers please!) I had suspicions earlier with a certain scene, then in chapter 3 another scene basically made my mind say "READ THE BLOODY THING NOW!!"

It does seem to suggest that. Moment Chapter 3 (My Norende rebuilt...) Main job then support; Agnes = Red Mage/Freelancer, Tiz = Valkyrie/Sword Mage, Edea = Black Mage/Summoner, Ringabel = Thief/Ranger. If you go look at base stats you'll see that Tiz is set-up for "anything" average/Mario stats. Edea is set up for brute strength classes. Agnes has the best INT/MIND so is best for both attack and curative spells. Ringabel is set up for speed making jobs with speed based attacks and going first better etc. OF COURSE it's not really that much of a points difference, more a tiny little boost that is easily augmented past by any character with the right equipment. I'd been having Agnes as pure White Mage for my healer with support Black Mage, and switched to Red Mage after I realised her MIND seems to be almost as good (like barely a few points lower) as White Mage, but allowing a significantly higher magic attack incase she needs to use attack spells. It almost makes White Mage seem pointless except for level 5+ spells (which I've no idea if they're any good yet, not being that far. And even then it may be wise to level White Mage to max and still keep her Red with White backup just to keep almost as good MIND with pretty good INT. Unless I have my math wrong).

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Mr_Master_X2 replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Completionist says I can't sell the game until I do Hero mode and that itch inside says I haven't really finished the game. So annoying you couldn't select Hero from the off as I don't like replaying games anymore. Used to love replaying games, and used to become like some insane ninja at games. I think it was the Gamecube area I stopped. -
Not sure it can get too crowded anyway, as I'm sure I heard it only keeps 16 residents in memory. Whether that includes current townies I've no idea. Only lost one villager (Deirdre). Last time I played it turned out she'd moved into my brother's village. And one of his had already moved into mine. My bro's game only gets loaded up when I visit his game to sell/do stuff, and he doesn't play anymore, so if anyone activate to leave/move in then they will (since he talks to no one anymore). If he ever decides to play again he's going to probably find out that most of the villager are newbies and that loads have come and gone he's never even met. It's okay though, he doesn't care as he's completely given up on the game. EDIT: Just taking a break from this game (playing Bravely Default...soooo good). I actually made a 3DS notepad to note down the day to reset the clock to to make sure things don't go haywire and the town self-destructs, which is 25th December. Soon as I get to tell someone not to move I'll probably move to actual date. I just can't stand the day to day play anymore, having to play it before I can relax and play something else. Y'know since if you load up you have to play until you're sure no one is leaving incase you leave it another week and someone's scarpered.

Mario seems to have some weird jump that's almost like a jumping uppercut. Been a while since I played, but push jump after hitting the ground with a butt stomp. It doesn't seem to serve any use at all.

Been wanting to download this, but waiting for a sale. There was a recent sale (maybe still on?) and assumed it would have this game, but the sale turned out to be a US one. So annoying.

Christmas 2013: What did you do and what did you get?
Mr_Master_X2 replied to Beast's topic in General Chit Chat
Bravely Default 3DS game Socks Socks Expensive shower wash 2x Green & Black chocolate bars 5x packets of Kinder Hippos (choc/vanilla) £100 in money abouts Probably forgot stuff. -
^Thanks for the tip above about the town, I did happen to accidentally realise this though and last time I went to the town just left it in sleep mode. Taking my time and finding it pretty easy (HARD mode). Not using summons though or the ability link. Want to do it all myself (it feels like cheating otherwise). Tiz Knight, Edea Black Mage, Agnes White Mage, Rinagabel Monk. The secret knuckle weapon in the early dungeon makes monk a god. Can't believe such a strong weapon so early.
-
Really not very far. I like how the town worked and probably less than an hour ago updated online and got 5 new villagers. In-game time, eh? That'll certainly make it more difficult.

EVERYONE with visible friend codes (I think) now added to my 3DS (and a few from other topics I already had). Almost no one (previously to this topic) ever adds me so I have a big enough list of no-shows, so please add me! Didn't actually start the game, though. The afternoon I planned didn't go as expected.

Music on this game is really good (Rainbow Bell). Sparkster's music is pretty good. Most game music these days is just...eh. Still some good ones though.

Still stuff undone on X and Black 2... Won't be using this for a while. The free month is from the day you purchase it, not from its release date, right? Disappointed on the Deoxys reveal. Was hoping for lots of unlock/events. Keeping fingers crossed, but that Deoxys news is just bizarre. I'm guessing they couldn't be bothered redoing the shelf size just for the meteors and just added an extra one to fill the shelf up! Always think of the most logical/simple answer D'OH!

This would have been a great snowy/wintery Christmas game. Probably would have had a cheat to add Christmas stuff/music like DKC3.
-
Done with this game for a while now. Dream address is: 6300-3323-7264 As finished as I can be bothered with. Ah, Jingle is cute. So, is there no KK. Christmas?

(Oops posted on another thread) Any way to improve the frame-rate? Co-op makes my brain want to shutdown.

So probably over a week ago now...I finally found the stamp on 6-3 (6-4?I still forget). Stupidly I found it in a way I planned on testing many hours before but decided against for no good reason. The hell is wrong with me? Did boss rush pretty easily after I stopped anxiefying about the stamp level. Did the Captain Toad level. Probably got halfway through the Mystery Challenge level and then went and tried the Champion's Course. Urgh...one of these. Got past the blinking platforms section and then just gave up. All will to play the game is now...just gone. I hated this level on Galaxy 2, I hated this level on 3D Land (though did actually finish them). But they're just no fun at all. The fact you have to ace them with all 5 characters is just...horrendous. I could probably do the Mystery one, but I know I don't want to 100% now because of that horrid other level so likely won't bother. I'd do it after 5+ hours of constant anxiety and panic attacks, but that seems like no fun at all. Oh well, it was pure excellence while it lasted.

Starting this game later today! YIPPEE!!

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Mr_Master_X2 replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Had 20+ streepasses since adding this game and not one single Zelda streetpass. How sad. I haven't even got my own brother's despite tagging him multiple times in the same house. I have a feeling he only talked to the old bloke and never set his character up. I'm guessing many people did that and just assumed street pass was now activated.
