The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Mr_Master_X2 replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It's THIS. They been going on about letting you do dungeons in any order, getting items any order and free roam of the map since the last game. Is the world map bigger? Sure, but the above is what they mean when they say open-world (as in the world is open for you to freely roam and do what you like in any order). -
Oh screw it. I'm just going to get this. Said before why I never bother much with them (screwy personal online & zero friends/family that...actually try), but the lag on MK7 online wasn't that bad for me, so the 3DS one should be alright. Looking more forward to the Wii U version for some sort of lengthy adventure mode, though (yeah, I know there's no zillion CGi scene adventure mode, but there's sure to be at least some sort of adventure mode). Try and get some sort of local MK8/Smash U going at Christmas.

Yes, I think when people ask for voice acting in Zelda...they all forget they'd be speaking indecipherable Hylian. -
*Waits for Serebii to realise he's missed the most obvious game on his list*

I think more people would like Tingle if he somehow was remodelled a bit after Robin Williams, maybe even voiced by him. A sort of quirky Mork flare added to Tingle. I mean, that obviously can't happen now, but still it'd been cool. -
Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire

I think I may have a cosplay Pikachu as part of my team. Thunder type will be useful as this game will no doubt still be full of zillions of water types. A Pichu to start with, and shiny if I can. I think I already have one. Though I'd like to play with only Pokeomn caught in game until post game. ^I usually just stick to those that have 3 forms, for variety's sake. Ever changing basically. I shall stick as many 4 forms (megas) as I can this time. It's very rare for me to use in story mode non-evolving Pokemon. -
Ooh, new playable villains! C'mon Vaati...

I'm guessing Pokemon Trainer will get an upgrade like some of the fighters are getting, and will have different appearances for costumes based on each gen, with that gens starter trio. I do hope SE gets onboard, too. Sort of like the Mii set, a Final Fantasy one, with the 4 starter job classes from the earlier games, with their specific moves.

This just goes to show what can be achieved if Nintendo lends its IPs out and gives a little oversight. This has gone from a "might get" to "most looked forward to game of the year" for me. Anyone want to make a topic about what other IPs you'd like to see hand out and be developed by who to crreate some new hybrid Nintendo game? Ice Climbers given to WayForward for an action/puzzle game?

Yes, BUT "nearing" the bottom is not the bottom. This kind of implies there's more to come...right? How many people are working on this game? The characters, the details, the modes... Sakurai has the stamina of multiple gods fused together. I guess this is the kind of skill you develop when you dedicate yourself solely to one thing (Smash series, in this instance). Give yourself a nice new IP after this to concentrate on, Sakurai, you deserve it.

Got back to this a few week's ago, and have been playing through G Rank with my bro. Maaaaaaan, that's a lot of missions. Got my Slime SnS to final upgrade and fully upgraded Azure Ratholos Armour (only High Rank ones). Sick to death of repeat monsters. I know the game's a slog, but I feel there should be more adequate pacing/order with the monsters you face. It seems to give you all of the same type in a huge splodge rather than evened out. I mean there is like 60 monsters after all.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

I would assume people are worried about it being empty. Twilight had a habit of making things look big and then having barely anything to do in it. Of course there's at least one Zelda game I'd consider a bit cramped with game size-secrets ratio. It sounds like this new world has specific patterns for game world mechanics that vary day by day,if I get what Miyamoto is on about. Which could mean; MM character style "we do different things on each day of the week". Pokemon style, you can do certain mini quests on certain days of the week, such as special items or maybe Gold Stalfos appear on sunday mornings in certain areas? I would so love for a full-on weather system that sweeps Hyrule. Market traders having different produce on certain days, rivers flooding swamplands on certain days leading to different areas exposed. Lake cave unflooded on certain days etc. I envision some sort of system of interaction with other players such as bottles sent online stuffed with treasure maps for mini quests and such. -

When Nintendo says something like this they usually mean a shared experience, more than single player but not multiplayer. I see some sort of "mini dungeons" quest like those in Link Between Worlds, due to the supposed vast nature of the game. Possibly a set amount (hundreds) or some degree of randomly generated that you can share with other players online. -
I keep forgetting the internet invisabelizes my sarcasm.

How am I supposed to read this? This is the smallest writing/picture I've ever seen.
-
Oh no, others on other forums. People have serious bile for the game.
-
Yes, but I bet you someone somewhere is commissioning a full-on gold (actual gold) Triforce one. I think this game is looking excellent and really sick of the hate for it.

That wasn't exactly what I mean, Serebii. I'm neither Elite nor a child/crap player, and of course I enjoy it, otherwise I wouldn't have been here buying every gen since the beginning, even remakes, trading stuff constantly up when possible. It's just that the game is designed around these two extremes. The developers don't seem to realise that the majority of players are players who've been there since the beginning. One of the most requested things is an improved/harder single player on most forums I've visited. They did test it out, in a crap, not very useful, not actually hard kind of way. I mean just offer a harder mode or something. I envision Gym lock-ins, limited items what you get given on the way in to gyms, Leaders with 6 Pokemon and improved AI. Sometimes at the end of routes you fight your rivals, so why not make mini boss battles at the end of MOST routes? Basically just slightly harder, improved AI battles. Longer routes, or less "I'm going to magically heal you, even though you've probably only fought 2-3 battles and don't need it". I mean, does ANYONE run out of PP anymore? They may as well just abandon PP for the single player at this point, as it doesn't mean anything anymore.
-
Oh, now I didn't know that. 12 customisable moves? I thought it was just the Mii character with multiple move sets. ^I must admit, this game seems to have a tremendous amount of detail/stuff in it. I just don't know where they find the time. I guess that's what you get with a big dedicated team who've worked on the previous games, who all know exactly what they're doing, rather than just some random bunch of people thrown together by the company and told to get on with it. I only hope the next proper Mario/Zelda/Starfox/Metroid are getting this kind of love. Sadly I doubt it, though.

Problem with the games; they aren't made for ME. They're made for the children/crap player (single player and it's laughable difficulty) and made for the elite player (into online battling/stat raising etc.). There's no middle ground. I'm just a guy who wants a single player that offers a above normal, maybe slightly hard challenge and long game. But the game isn't made for me. I keep expecting them to realise it's the same bloody Pokemon fans they already have and they all know how to play the game by now so "it's okay to raise the difficulty", but nope.

What's so funny is, is that you think THIS is the padding part.
-
Yes, I know I've wrote a lot, but bare with me, I'd really like a chit-chat. Well, I finally finished this game. yes, I started months and months ago. I actually did EVERYTHING in the game. But then I put it down do do something else, waiting for a quiet moment to do the final bit and watch the ending in peace, days and days past and then other things took my attention, and then well many months had passed! As you know, doing everything is a massive task...

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Mr_Master_X2 replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The thing with ruins, the fact that the enemy reeks of "ancient tech" and is clearly and pointed out to have been buried long enough for moss, grass and other stuff to grow on it. As for, "they wouldn't create that beautiful place to explore and then have a second land underground". Of course they would. They do two lands a big portion of Zelda games. Having a second area to explore wouldn't detract from the over-world, just add to it. Being more clear, I don't see the underworld as everywhere, just at clear points that have big landmarks on them. For instance, the village, and that huge honking pyramid temple in the distance. Possibly under the big ass lake, too. Probably Hyrule castle, as well. -

Watched clip. Well, that confirms it in my mind. They're doing the whole opposite to Skyward Sword, moving from sky to underground. There's an ancient Hyrule/civilisation waking up that is below the current Hyrule, and the game will feature many underground areas/dungeons as well as the vast over-world (it'll also serve as the contrast sky/ground, light/dark, past/future, seasons, and in this case underground, overground). The bow if you look at it is clearly tech Link found that has been patched together with some cloth bandage (surprised this wasn't mentioned...) Link will no doubt find other updated ancient tech versions of his usual gadgets.
