  1. Could be worse. Could be a looooooooooot worse, it could be the GameFAQs Wii U Console Board. Never before has the universe seen such a place of scum and nefarious trollish villains. I HAVE noticed hostility here, do I mention people without causing hassle? Do I even need to at this point? I get sometimes we get hostile, but for as long as I've been here it's had a cosy, warm atmosphere (been here quite a bit longer than my register date, and despite post count I'm pretty much here EVERY day...) People need to chill before this place becomes a giant heap of derailed hostile topics...like most everywhere else. I've had enough posts ignored or vanish with deleted topics just becase people can't keep their cool, elsewhere.
  2. LOL I've said it before and I'll say it again... Read through the lines. With what he just said, and what has beeh said. Notice how they kept saying "if we were to start one now it would be 3 years off", hmm? Then Reggie here rephrases that they basically wouldn't show or tell you even if they had one in the works. I mean look at Zelda U. I don't care if I turn out wrong...they have a new PROPER Metroid in the bloody works, not once have they outright said they haven't. Regardless, I'll be geting MPFF and playing it through local multi, I think it looks great fun. Exactly. This is how they work.
  3. I just saw Starfox 2 again in a video about cancelled video games, and realized that "new" walking arwing feature is in fact NOT new, it being in this game already. It makes me wonder though...could this be a direct sequel to Starfox 64? I mean, it is the last game released having been remade for 3DS, right? Opinions?
  4. Well yes, I pesonally found ALBW amazing and super fun. Why would anyone mark it down for being topdown? What kind of Zelda fan would mark it down for THAT? Most Zelda fans are of the midframe we WANT 3D and topdown Zeldas. Hell, I'd like a sidscroller Zelda like 2, if possible. The same way we want 2D and 3D Mario games. The same way we WANT 2D and 3D Metroid games.
  5. Look, I get the motto "you don't always get what you want", BUT...there are certain standards. These days, an avatar account, online, and achievments are essentially "standard". Achievments being extra incentives to try new stuff and go that extra mile. Take Pokemon Black/White 2, the "achievment/medals" were extra incentive to try out new stuff, do loads of extras (I didn't like them moving them to global account, I miss them in the main game). Sometimes they're done wrong, but when done right it can get you to experiment or see/do stuff you'd never do. The few Nintendo games that have them...you can't deny you get that litte bit extra out of it. To me, it even feels like something Nintendo would have invented, and they seem to be ignoring it because other companies have done it and don't want to be copy cats or something. Which is how I see them with online, not wanting to be copies. Not all games need it, some massively benefit from it, and some it just adds a bit extra. I feel Starfox would be between massive benefit and extra. Online dog fights between Team Fox and Team Wolf? Team battle/solo. Horde mode with zillions of andross fighters... Co-op story mode levels, with teams of four (skippable scenes, if not entirely removed). Mission packs with remixed levels that have objectives for co-op? Do I think the main game will be excellent? YES, it seems to have gone back to the full proper shooter fans have been kicking Nintendo about. But that doesn't mean they have to cut online, and in this case it was a mistake as it adds so much more and massive replayability...for obviously minimum effort compared to fleshing out another main game. OF COURSE, they could easily "splatoon" us and releases content/modes after...which could be already planned (they do love their secrets), but if not, fans need to make it clear to them they love the game but they NEED more. Don't get me wrong though, but to Serebii, you may change your tune if Nintendo realizes they can make more money from Pokemon Amiibo/cards/endless quick put together spinoff games and has GF so spread thin than main Pokemon games become super sparse. Nintendo have learned that fans will snap up "quicker" put together games just as much as "years upon years" in developement games. NOTE; I'm NOT saying the current spinoffs are quick put together, but referencing literally choosing quicker put together games as better options to resources spent on main games. It can be seen happening across Nintendo's whole line. Still great games? YES, but the quality IS dropping, and we're seeing more and more games that fans just don't see as full main entries in a series.
  6. Doesn't this count total sales across mutiplat, though? Yes, the game's they had weren't bad. They had some good games. Most had already been shown, problem one. Other than ol' Foxy, the surprises were seemingly small sidegames, problem two, that while worth nowhere near the ragerhate they got, didn't scream OH YEAH!! either. This would have been a HELL YEAH!! great normal direct, but it was an E3 direct. Nintendo didn't want to show anyhing too far off, but that's exactly what E3 is! All the good stuff actually coming straight out and hordes of "other stuff" that is years off that sets hype-HYPE-HYYYYYYPE off to buy a console. Look at all those FF7 fans shitting themselves over basically nothing but an announcement! That's what they needed. All it would have took was a small Zelda U video. The way they've framed Zelda doesn't hel now either; everyone was expecting early 2016, they made it seem like post E3 now...like months and months post E3 2016. No wonder everyone thinks it's been delayed to NX, and maybe it has, afterall Nintendo aren't exactly lying about it still coming out on Wii U, since to them it still RIGHT NOW is so partially true, but I think they do know that they're gonna later go "oops yeah, we had to switch platforms, please understand". You assume they're the same people?
  7. The problem with any Nintendo Amiibo game is it's pointless if you can't get the Amiibo or have to pay god knows how much for it. XBC for example needing Shulk Amiibo to unlock content. Imagine a FULL GAME with content specific Amiibo you'll likely never be able to buy unless you fork out mega bucks or hunt down someone who already owns the one you're after. That's a mess.
  8. So solo or not at all for me. Urgency has gone from day one to "whenever" now. *forces cheery grin* Umm, thanks Nintendo! Basically another screw you like the CUBE one "no multiplayer unless all have GBA plus link" yet lets you play single with joypad. Getting annoying now.
  9. I just want to know what's cutdown compared to the Wii U version, coz I want to decide which version to get. I doubt Nintendo wll outright state exactly what as it may impact negatively, so will have to wait until release. Portable is just more of ease of use to me, Wii U one would reach double digits, but 3DS would be many times that.
  10. Been telling people the blast ball is just a tutorial to get used to controls on GameFAQs, but I just get ignored so people can continue raaaaaaaaaging. I will be buying two copies, so I can co-op with my bro. Same with Tri-Force. Was glad when I heard Woolly Yoshi Wii U was co-op, too. Keep up the co-op 3DS games please! Hurry up with thew new Monster Hunter and FFE, FFCC too. Surprising how few co-op games for 3DS there is.
  11. This game looks such good fun. Multiplayer looks lovely, so fuck you Sky broadband for trolling me!
  12. Hey. Old copies of this game actually work in widescreen progressive scan on the Wii. I think it was removed for players choice, though. Was surprised when I realized this. Picture quality on this game was ace, always wondered why other stuff ddn't have such high quality PQ.
  13. I have to admit, I always viewed them as churned same as last years sequels. But then I don't play them, just repeating what I can gleam from what I've seen. If you say they're different enough (at least the majority, there's always "one" that tries to rob you..) then I'll believe you, a person who actually plays the games rather than someone who doesn't who's just essentially repeating a mantra (sorry Ron). But then even if they were barely any different, does it matter? It's what fans want, to play their favorite game with a new story and some new gameplay elements with new graphical fizzle? It's no different than buying the next book in a long-running series, like the next Poirot or Harry Potter 10.
  14. Good video. Agree with most points. Games were good, but we either knew about them or they were essentially spinoffs to what was wanted, or cut-down versions of games that should know better by now. So many of the Wii U's games have felt like side games rather than the "main version" already. So few feel like the robust full games of Ninendo past. I don't want to feel disappointed because he's right, most ARE good games...but for the above reasons don't fully hit the spot. It reeks of a company that just doesn't have enough resources, or the likely theory of "diverted resources to NX". You can see this right from the launch, it makes me wonder if it was always intended as a stopgap tem system from the beginning.
  15. I would hope so. The rage about MPFF is just ridiculous...zillions of topic how Nintendo have essentially raped their memories of Metroid, the whining and raging, petition to cancel the game, wanting Miyamoto to suicide, most from people who have seen no more of the game than the tutorial for controls. The hostility/hate is so off the chart messed up I almost felt ashamed just being associated with these people as a gamer/poster on GameFAQs.
  16. Fusion is a pretty popular theory. If Nintendo hasn't realised they can't rely on third parties by now, and that the workload is all on them and they simply don't have enough R&D to support full-time two consoles...then they must be blind. I would like to see... A fusion console, hi-spec portable with output to HD TV for home play. The theme should be nostalgia/classic Nintendo with the focus being on new. The VC should contain EVERY Nintendo console with extensive back catalogue, and be quick about it. I get it; they don't want to overwhelm, but they are missing out on so much fucking money from a full-on VC! For them to buy more second parties for new IPs and hiring out for new games in their first IPs. They've had good success with second parties, so this is well likely. To buy classic "used to be on Nintendo" unused IPs exclusive rights. Megaman? Super Ghouls'n' Ghosts? Sparkster Rocket Knight? World of Mana? etc. Some sort of incentive from Nintendo to get translations done. Words cannot express how lacklustre SE has been. Combined US/EU sales easily cover translation costs for 3DS games, especially since most don't have voice overs. It's a decent treasure chest of money waiting for SE/Nintendo...but nobody can be bothered opening it. Things were geting better here for a while...then they just gave up. Remasters. Some people shout cheap copout, but face it; fans of series like them, they sell well, make huge profit for effort put in. If Wii U had more of them their fans would be much happier. Nintendo dropped the ball here, no doubting it. The other companies are cashing in and laughing all the way to the bank. REALIZE THIS. You are only alive now Nintendo because of legacy fans. If it wasn't for us, you'd be done. Seeking new users is fine, but you better damn be planning on satisfying us for keeping you afloat. There should be at least one of every major Nintendo IP in the starting planning stages. Even if they take a backseat, they should always be ready to go. There needs to be a 2D and a 3D Mario planned, a topdown and a third person Zelda, a 2D and a Prime style Metroid, a Mario Kart, an F-Zero, a Smash, a main Pokemon etc. to all other IPs as well as spinoffs. I'm not saying have them all being worked on at once, just mean there should never be any doubt that one will be coming? It's not a "do we make one this gen?", it's a "when do we make one this gen". Which means expanding more. Third parties cannot and should NOT be relied on. Great if they come, but Nintendo are being shown to be fools by now for relying on them. Miis need updating now. It's time. My past idea of an online hub for Miis on a giant Wuhu Island with minigames/exploration, town hub/updates/events etc. should be the standard playground. I get it, if you saw my past posts on this your thoughts are probably "expensive". Sad to say, but introducing something like PS+/LIVE GOLD should thus happen. It wouldn't be necessary for normal online games and stuff, but it would be worth it with free VC game rentals and bonuses and such. New Mii custom clothes, pants, hats, accessories, Mii pets etc. Streetpass needs to stay and be expanded, with extended spotpass, so that if you join a game with a friend you can essentially streetpass them without going out. Why? Even with relays, people are STILL losing out. Ability to turn this streetspotpass off to stop massive accumalations. I REALLY like the streetpass games, the console should come with 4 installed, with new ones released a few times a year in four packs. Achievments. Coins, maybe? Gold coins for standard, red for medium, blue for hard, star coin for completion. Your total is saved, but coins can be spent on Mii stuff etc. Nintendo handhelds have been their go to success for a long time now. Their home consoles bar a few games don't satisfy me as much as one of their handhelds. Fusion isn't guaranteed, but I could at least see some sort of fusion crossbuy system if they still do consoles, like a big selection of their games are cross-rormat like Vita/PS4 does. Instant increase of available games across platforms. Shared OS is the presumed, fusion is the hoped for. All I know is, if it's a home console I won't get it until well into its life with many great Nintendo IPs out.
  17. I think, at this point, there will only ever be disappointment for VR. We all know what people think of when they think "VR" (photorealistic, fully immersive, bio feedback, holodeck of the mind etc.) I get we have to start this far away from that to get funding and slowly grow bit by bit, but in peoples minds it will never be good enough until we get there. That's VR's problem, ie. it will never be as good as people want, so won't sell as well, so will never make enough money to reach developement stage that people want. It'll require massive hopeful funding on the developement end with no real return/success until we get "there".
  18. Same here! This should be great.
  19. I WAS disappointed, but then I just had to question what I was expecting. Metroid Prime Federation; co-op, 30 levels minmum, metroid enemies, metroid weapons/tech. I don't like the graphcal style, but the game will be great fun. Zelda Triforce; Great Little Battlers Experience; Great now I know what it is Paper Mario/Mario and Luigi; Great Hyrule Warriors; Great, though I'll probably finally get Wii U version The Wii U games shown were great, just disappointed nothing much new was shown. My disappointment is the AC stuff not being a proper AC game ( I wouldn't be surprised if they announce anothet AC game based around catching bugs/fishing). It feels like they've split the AC elements up into separate games....surely AC fan will be fatigued/bored with a lot of AC elements by the time the true sequel comes? My biggest disappointed about E3 was SQUAREENIX and its treatment of western fans. JUST GO TO FUCKING HELL SE!! I think if you add up all the 3DS announcements from this year and untranslated games (assuming they EVER get any translations) then the 3DS lineup is massive.
  20. We know they've expanded, but where exactly are their resources going, especially given that most of their IPs are being given out to 2nd parties? There's been less output despite having more resources, and most are short and feel ike side games or recycled ones. I have to agree that they're planning/beavering away on titles for their next console. Which is a spit in the face to Wii U owners. And a spit in the face to 3DS owners after having support cut down for the Wii U.
  21. I get it though, Nintendo continually blow their wad with directs thoughout the year while other companies save stuff up. That and main games for MS/SONY are usually western, which means auto English thus they can show them. The amount of 3DS games announced this year/during has been huge, but most are japanese "we may release in west" games. It made the direct seem bare.
  22. ACTUALLY Nintendo could indeed run on the 3DS fumes alone. It's basically what they have been doing anyway. It's what bugs me when western third parties shun it, japanese third parties refuse to translate games for it, and Nintendo themselves cut funding for it to focus on Wii U games that as far as I can tell barely exist. 3DS (and portables in general) ARE Nintendo in this modern age, and the sooner they accept it and pursue it with full vigour the better they'll be for it. If the NX isn't Fusion (super quality HD portable with 3DS extras and more, with ability to display on HD TV as good as a modern console, promoting the handheld side more as there's ZERO faith in their home consoles these days) then Nintendo is lost. They can't afford to keep splitting their focus and giving neither console the true focus they deserve/require.
  23. I'll certainly be holding back buying until the system recieves a TRUE next gen Mario, Zelda, Kart, Metroid, Animal Cossing etc. I've certainly enjoyed the few games I've had on Wii U so far, but it's been a very poor showing.
  24. Shall definitely look forward to Triforce and Mario & Luigi (it looks level based though, rather than huge world based). Soooo disappointed in no proper Metroid or Animal Crossing, though. Can honestly say I'm unlikely to ge either. Starfox looks good but clearly not finished. I expect release date to be pushed. Super Mario Maker continues to look better and better BUT the chances if me having the patience to make something truly good on it is unlikely, even though I used to design Mario levels as a kid. My family has multiple LBP games, firstdesigned a bit, second not even open. The idea is great, but it's not as exciting designing as you think, especially when the share aspect is flooded with zillionz of stuff the same as yours, usually better. Sure there's other games that are already anounced (Yokai, XCX etc.)
  25. Well, I was right about the Zelda co-op for 3DS and the Metroid co-op missions and multiple other stuff. Oh well.
