  1. Good to see a major company accepting that the Wii is a success and should have been backed up rather than just the gimmick everyone thought it would be.
  2. My health. I can eat, smoke and drink things without ever taking into consideration how it will effect me in times to come. I reflect on this because I was throwing up some awful substance this morning and I think I'm gonna check with the doctor to find out what the hell it was.
  3. quick question, is there any UK Tv channe;s that show decent anime?
  4. I vote for just shut up and drink it.
  5. You're Darn Tootin'.
  6. I was working at a boat show recently and some large ned woman shouted on her little girls who were all tarted up in football trackies. One of them was called Shagwell. She'll be pregnant before she's legal to smoke.
  7. Shrek the Third Kinda what I expected really. Thought on the whole it was pretty bland, probably because they were going for too many storylines at once. If they had stayed with the villian-siege story it might have worked. I just suppose there wasn't enough fresh material in comparison to the other two which were superb. In all a few good gags but on the whole pretty unfunny. 5/10
  8. I've been enjoying Trigun lately but I've heard a few things about Space Runaway Ideon. Is it worth a look? From what I seen it didn't look very impressive.
  9. The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert(Awesome) The Proposition(Truely Awesome) The Time Machine, Ravenous(Quite Good, also stars Robert Carlyle) and The Hard Word which was a nice little heist movie. Guy Pearce in my opinion is one of the better actors on the Hollywood circuit or at least getting there. Thats what I've seen him in bar LA Confidential and Memento which are two of my favourite films. I do want to see him play Andy Warhol in Factory Girl though.
  10. Someone who wakes up two nights in a row laughing about Spider Pig probably finds colon cancer hysterical.
  11. Zelda Wii? :P
  12. Aye, FF8 is definetly worth a playthrough. It's a love or hate game I suppose although most people I talk to claim it is the worst Final Fantasy but still believe it's quite a good game. I myself belive it is deserving of the top 3.
  13. I've been listening to Theory of a Deadman album Gasoline after finishing Fahrenheit. Quite enjoyable, now and again I like to listen to the basic cheesy grunge acts, don't know why they are just addictive for some reason.
  14. I like Family Guy, I just don't think that humour suits the Simpsons or suits being made into an animated film. I mean, the Family Guy movie is pretty dull, It's just a long episode. In my opinion I belive a Futurama Movie would have been agreeable as it's set-up and scope allows for something as big as a movie.
  15. I don't think the issue is really graphics as the console with the largest user base right now is still the Ps2 and people continue buying games for it and developers continue making games. The problem for the Wii is being too biased to casual or hardcore. I define casual are those who enjoy playing games and usually buy what is in the charts or recomended and hardcore are those who treat it as a serious hobby and have greater knowlege and experience with games. Right now Wii is focused on the casual with a greater amount of pick up and play games like excite truck, brain academy, wii sports etc. games that hold no real depth and can be enjoyed by anyone usually at short bursts. But it is changing with the release of some heavy hitters later this year and next. The main problem I think is that developers were skeptical of Wii's success, then when it sold they were skeptical of it's appeal. Now developers are starting to take risks, notably rockstar releasing manhunt and bully. So from here on out the 'hardcore' appeal of the Wii should pick up, hopefully.
  16. Hey I've got a question but it's already been answered but I shall ask nonetheless. Incomplete download mp3s in the music folder for some reason won't delete because Vista Home Premium claims they don't exist. So how do I make the actual file icon dissapear from the folder because if it doesn't exist then it sure as hell shouldn't be there? A quick answer will be fine as it's my dad's laptop that has vista and I was trying it out because I'm going to get one but he and his laptop are down in london just now so I won't be able to try out the method some helpful person gives me.
  17. I'm not too bothered about Shia Leboeuf either. To me he seems like a mediochre actor who has played mediochre parts that anybody else could do. Once he plays something challenging and original then I'll be interested. In the mean time he is just another Ashton Hartnett and all those pretenders who are just a face to a character without any real soul. P.S. Hartnett does get a small mention however for his part in Sin City, if only he could always act like that.
  18. Yea, the adverts haven't had me in the same hysterics as they had everybody else. Spider pig being a cringe-worthy moment for me. Shame really, because the original teaser ad "Uh-oh, we'd better get started." was more inline with classic simpsons humour but now I feel it is shifting towards family guy randomness instead of social commentry, family animated sitcom of old. Family guy pulls off the random humour but simpsons just doesn't. But yea, this may turn out to be another stinker that everyone applauds because of it's name and heritage...sigh.
  19. I didn't see a big fuck you. Just a total cliched action film sell out which should be disassociated with the die hard franchise. In all, I didn't like it. 3/10 but everyone is allowed their opinion I suppose.
  20. I wasn't too bothered about this at first but now I'm quite intrigued. I would have to know more about the game mechanics and the online before I'm sold however. Apparently the other 2 games are rather pants.
  21. Most writers do go through tons of education and understand the english language more than most people. Games development isn't only in the area of conception. You also have to know how your idea is going to work within programming. Most conceptions are created by those who have years of actual games design, such as shiggy who created the original donkey kong and now after years of games design sits backs and fires ideas at underlings. I could fire off 100 ideas for scripts but unless I can write those scripts in a logical film sense then I will get nowhere. Games design is not something that can be compared to writing, sure they actually have stories and characters but they are different artforms. If you use the surgeon analagy then you're patient is a game. If you are unable to perform the procedure accordingly then what you will have is a game with no real life. Not only do you need training in how to create a good game you also need experience. Something that Nintendo will not cater for. It sounds like you are more suited to being a writer of videogame scripts and not actually involved with the actual proccess of planning, programming and testing. But the actual generating of ideas are only allowed for the higher ups in the industry, a position you would have to secure after alot more experience within the industry.
  22. People are just getting worked up because you haven't been very realistic about this whole ordeal. If I told you I've applied to become a surgeon without going to medical school or any medical experience whatsoever then I would only expect to be called and idiot from all 4 corners of the earth. If you really want to develop games then persue it seriously. Maybe then we will take you seriously.
  23. I just got back from T aswell from being semi-fired. All I got to see were kooks, killers and hot chip all of which I was not impressed. I wasn't really bothered with alot of bands that were playing, mostly contempary stuff, I need the classics! Could have stayed and got to see kings of leon and QOTSA but I was pretty angry with a few people I was working with. And plus I'm burnt to hell! I could strip off the sizzling skin on my face and sell it as McDonalds mystery meat.
  24. Passed my first year Film and Tv Course HNC. Had to produce, write and direct a 10 minute factual programme which I completed even though it was pretty uninteresting analysis of Alcoholics Anonymous. I've been predicted with an A by my lecturers but I'll find out for sure in August. Huzzah!
