  1. No, but it makes for a decent chunk of the European Market I would think. Something Nintendo could use afterall.
  2. I think Nintendo didn't do enough research into this. They obviously had America and Japan in mind, where the slang word 'Wii' is not often use to describe urine. They didn't bother researching the UK, and wouldn't even think of Ireland, where urine comes into mind. Hopefully they notice, so they can at least make the name more appealing in these countries, I would of thought that they were one of the biggest markets they had afterall. I bet somebody posted this too. =/
  3. Maybe if enough people hate it, they'll change it. Go is 10* better then Wii. Not to mention the slagging I'd get from my brother for having one. He's always doing this "we" bollox. >_>
  4. Not exactly the same, I'm too lazy to pressure my Dad into using his credit card @_@. I'll only do that if I really want the game.
  5. I only have 4 and 5. I could never find 6 or 7 in the shops, and I'm too lazy to order online. Of course, another reason is that they started releasing them after Christmas, I would've gotten them otherwise, but better games always come out during the year. They're a huge blast in Multiplayer, but nobody plays Multiplayer games with me anymore, they now focus virtually all their spare time on music and impressing girls =P. What makes 5 so much better has got to be Fish Upon a Star, where we played a land grab game, so if your land falls, and you hop onto somebody else's land, they have the right to knock you off. You can only run away =P.
  6. €499-€599? And I heard people calling the Xbox 360 Core System expensive. The ones who did get it were considered spoilt FFS. How the hell are they going to react to this?! Big problem there is, I won't be able to get a decent-length job until Summer '08 (because I'm 16 at the end of Summer '07 ><). Even then, I was planning to spending a lot of that money on gifts were Christmas and birthdays, as well as Mother's Day and Father's Day ._. I don't even need Blu-Ray, DVD will be here to stay for another few years I bet, so the need for a new, pricey format just seems like a waste. Especially if it flops (and there very well may be a chance of it).
  7. Oh dear, I wonder how Sony are feeling now. I always thought the purpose of the PSP's UMD functions was to push for the UMD, as the PS3 apparently is for Blu-Ray. Though, there's more people backing Blu-Ray then there was UMD as far as I know. So it's possible Blu-Ray won't be a "bomb". I don't really see the need for new formats when DVD works fine. Hell, Xtra-Vision still have shelf space for VHS, bigger then UMD too. They need to give DVD a few more years before they introduce any new technology. Give it at least 3 more before trying to push for any new formats. =/
  8. I don't believe those are even the final specs to be honest, strange how it came about a little before today. I'm gonna say the console will probably be about €210. Really? ._. I thought they changed it from $ -> €. Like the DS cost $150, and cost €150 here. How much did GC cost? I remember seeing it retail for €200 at launch or something around that price point. But whatever. There's also a 10 added to the price of games. ($50 -> €55-60, despite the € being worth more. =P).
  9. I don't think I'll care much for this movie. Especially if it's like the Family Guy movie (not bad, but really, not that great. Also, they could've just left out the swearing). Bart losing his virginity, oh yawn. It's hardly "Simpsons" either.
  10. I win a behaviour and attendence cert twice each term. Well actually, they seem to have a habit of overlooking me lately, I haven't recieved any since October, despite having the same behaviour and better attendance. The bastards at my school have screwed up most written documents associated with me. I wonder what they're going to do come the mocks. "Oh, we lost yours, sorry, also, we lost that money you gave us so now you can't sit the Jr Cert. and the Leaving Cert. Looks like we've ruined your academic life, our bad!". Other then those hardly-awards, I've recieved: A trophy for being a shit swimmer during 1st class, I can swim fine now though. I didn't like recieving a trophy that I knew was saying I was crap. A plaque for the same thing. A plaque for being the best swimmer in my group during 5th class. A medal for being on the winning team in my school's compulsory football tournament. Our team won, and I just sat around for every match because I hate playing football with people I don't like. They get angry at you for nothing. A plaque for the same thing. Of course, they were all a few years back. I've gotten nothing recently.
  11. Yes, Happy St. Patrick's Day to all. Now all the buses and trains will be crowded by Americans and Irish alike! So far, two things haven't worked out, one, the weather is awful, makes me want to move it to May. and two, my friends screwed up by getting up at 11:45, 15 minutes before the parade. I missed it all thanks to them, and now I'll have to go to the 3:00 one in Bray...on the bus
  12. If the Revolution control was the main reason for the delay, I will be pretty pissed off. I mean, it's obvious that it comign out in Autumn is a business thing, but if that's all they've added for nearly a year, if not a year delay, I won't be very happy. Then again they don't care Other then that, I would say it'll be interesting. Apparently an example is for aiming with the arrow and such. On the other note: 100 Hours? I really doubt it. They're probably saying how long it'll be if you suck at the game. I'd say the main quest would be 30 Hours at the very very most. Side-quests and such, 15 Hours at the most I'd say. Unless they're really frustrating ones that take a really really long time to do. 45 Hours, tops for 100% of the game I'd say.
  13. September is mid-Autumn in this country, and November 1st is the 1st day of Winter. . If I don't see it before Winter, I'll be slightly annoyed, but too busy to care. I'd expected to come out a little tiny bit before Thanksgiving (In the US, I think it's October in Canada) in the US, and if we're lucky, they might release it in Europe a week later. If it doesn't get released in Europe by '06, we won't see it until March. Kind of a sad thought, but it might happen..
  14. You say it like Wind Waker wasn't "actual proper 3D". The Wind Waker consisted of three dimensions, making it actual proper 3D. Simply, yes? Just because Wind Waker used a different style and used seemingly less details, it doesn't mean it wasn't 3D. 3D is three demensions, most commonly, Length, Width and Depth. Both games are actual proper 3D games. I just wanted to say that
  15. I don't think Nintendo are trying to make people buy GC, but rather the Revolution for backwards compatibility. They're probably trying to make money off current Gamecube owners by putting it on the GC, while making money of new Revolution buyers, who may only buy the system to play Zelda, and seeing as GC is too outdated, they won't bother with that. So money comes from: Selling Zelda to 'Cube-owners Selling Revolution to people by persuading them with Zelda Selling the game to these new Revolution owners. It's still damn risky if you ask me, people will care about how the graphics aren't "OMFG sh1n3y!!" as they're too shallow to actually play it. Making the game a Revolution game may lead people to believe the Graphics on Revolution are crap due to the current-gen graphics. Of course they could spruce them up, but that probably couldn't be done to a maximum extent with the time remaining.
  16. The game was sub-par, with pretty bad controls, especially how he moved left and right while holding forward. The camera also needs a bit of work. I like it story-wise, but it fails in other departments.
  17. Link's Awakening beats Ocarina of Time anyday. It's not really stupid to predict such a thing, there's a good reason for it. It may not sell what Nintendo want. I suppose it's a pretty big risk, on one hand, it may sell bundles to Cube owners and may cause Revolution to sell bundles due to those who want to play and don't have 'cubes and want to play it. On another hand, it may be overshadowed my "OMFG NEXT-GEN hype". It's hard to tell really.
  18. They should get rid of the lock-on in multi-player, for the sake of a bit of skill. But it should be optional in the single player mode. I think it's fun trying to gun each other down with aiming in multi-player, but in single player, it always gets irritating for me. Also, they have to remember to keep the adventerous feel of Prime, rather then every room being "SHOOT". That's what I liked about Prime, some adventure to it, and I want more. I don't really like the idea of "enemy, shoot kill, win!". The lack of exploration in First Hunt kind of mafde me feel sad.
  19. Hurrah, Pancake Tuesday! This is the only site I've visited today that's actually got a topic on it. I had three this morning, and in a bout an hour, I'll be having a load for my lunch. I just over-syrupe them, or use sugar and chocolate spread. I remember the years when I made the pancakes, I'm never doing that again, mine were always the last ones, so they were small and I didn't get much. I'm never doing it again. Ha, all the shops ran out of ingredients, you'd think they'd stock more, but no, they went on and decided to be dumb. Merry Pancake Tuesday! =D.
  20. It'll be very interesting to see a new franchise on the Revolution. No background information as of yet, so we cn only make wild guesses. What I really want to see is F-Zero Rrevolution at this E3. I think, as of now, it's far to early to release Mario Kart on the Revolution so soon after the DS. I'd think it'd be somewhere in the second half of '07 or later. It should kind of be, I guess. I wouldn't complain if it was released earlier though. But if Revolution's going to have a decent racing title at launch, the logical choice is F-Zero. But that's aside the point I guess.
  21. http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/20/the-engadget-interview-reggie-fils-aime-executive-vice-preside/ This was posted today it seems. Not sure what that validates, but he didn't mention Autmn (or 'Fall') in that answer, it's interesting to think about. Though, I'm still going to say it'll be out in Autmn, or Winter (here at least, where Autumn is Aug-Oct). Bit of a contradiction.
  22. The Cube owners who won't buy Revolution will buy this, adding to the game's sales.
  23. I don't think they want people to buy the Gamecube. Had they released it in Q2, many would've went out and got a Gamecube for it. Now people would be thinking, they just got the 'cube, so they're not going to get Revolution just yet. Seeing as the Revolution's backwards compatible, and if the release is so close, people may just buy the Revolution instead of the Gamecube to play it, being how outdated it'll be. Though, Gamecube is obviously cheaper. Revolution fuctionality is a good way to make them want it. They'll make more Revolution sales, and make a load with the game itself.
  24. June 2nd would be more likely, I'd think. Being a Friday and all. It's also the last day of school before the Summer holidays, and when my exams finish. That'd be a treat. Though, it's not going to happen. I don't really care if it does happen to be released on Revolution, I'll be getting one anyway. But I would probably prefer if they released it on Gamecube, and a lot earlier in the year then Q4. Third quater, maybe. Second Quarter seems unlikely. First Quater, never. If the delay was mostly based on making it Revolution compatible. I'll be disappointed, waiting so long for something that'll probably only be a fun little gimmick.
  25. The magazine is much better then I had expected. I don't mind the cover so much anymore either, in fact, it's already grown on me. Also, the wallet is much better then the packaging in the old one. The letters section needs a bit of a clean up really, and I don't think they give out prizes anymore =(. I haven't read many of the letters yet though. They're promising new Zelda screens and details next month. We'll have to pick it up. The magazine could use a bit of humour to be honest. Also, I hope they don't continue to give out DVDs from next month on, then I'll be disappointed. Wait, that's weird. I went into the Newsagents, saw it sitting right there. My Newsagents is supplied by Easons too, why would Eason not supply other stores? =/
