  1. http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/games/archives/2006/12/11/new_sony_viral_marketing_ploy_angers_consumers.html Busted.
  2. Yeah, I turned a second controller on and both my remotes went mental. They were just flashing all the lights. Had to turn off my Wii, then I couldn't get past the "Press A" screen cos none of my controllers worked. Unplugged the system, took the batteries out the remote, pressed the sync buttons for a while, eventually it started working again.
  3. Does the music stop and start again for anyone else just before you face a boss, or is it just my dodgy Wii drive?
  4. Well I can't be that shit at it, after an hours play I've never bothered looking at my health and never been in any danger of dying.
  5. Maybe they don't keep the Wiimotes in the box, like they don't keep the games in the box on the shelf in some (most?) stores. Did he actually ask or just look at the package?
  6. Hasn't given me disc errors, but sometimes still makes horrible sounds and music in monkey ball sometimes skips when loading a level or boss. Gonna persevere with it and hope it sorts itself out, don't want to be left with no Wii at all if I send it back to Argos.
  7. It's not difficult, it's just really awkward. Played about 1hr 15 now cos I've been giving it a chance. The levels are designed to work around the constraints of the controls (Ie, if there's someone popping out right to your left you can't turn in time to shoot him) but that makes the game pretty samey with lots of corridor shootouts. The sword fights remind me a bit of super punch out. I've got used to the controls a bit more, and the novelty of them is really all that brings a bit of interest to a pretty mundane shooter. If this came out on the PC, it would have been released by ValueSoft.
  8. Played about 30 mins, but have little desire to play any more. Even if the controls were brilliant I doubt I'd pick it up again.
  9. Are people still doing this? We are top o the league say we are top o the league Is it just me or is the person who actually started the league rock bottom by miles?
  10. Ahh, may have been monkey ball DS> I do seem to remember leaving it on my desk at work as the credits rolled.
  11. Playing Red Steel makes the dual shock look like a good method of controlling FPS games. It really is that bad.
  12. OK, mine is: 4378 2040 7773 1793 PM me your number if you add me.
  13. I'm sure for at least one of them (1 or 2) you had to sit through it. But maybe I just made that up.
  14. At least you can skip it this time!
  15. Is Wii play the only way to get an extra remote still? Cos I've already got it and I really want another 2 controllers.
  16. There have been a few moment's that made me smile, but it still feels like trying to do the washing up with boxing gloves on.
  17. Not done the dodgy disc thing yet today (crosses fingers)
  18. The noises are pretty much constant, even when you're just sitting on the Wii menu. Any time it needs to load something, even stuff that's usually instantanious like the sega screen on monkey ball you get a black screen for ages. Then sometimes the music will start (still black screen) then stop and you'll get a disc error. If the disc goes in and doesn't start making the loud noise straight away, the game plays fine.
  19. Me and a mate felt it in our shoulders after playing baseball for quite a while.
  20. I thought it looked shite, but the hype was still massive when I made my order and it hadn't been reviewed so against my better judgment I ordered it. Worse, I took the cellophane of it, but not Money Ball. Then I got confused and tried to take the cellophane off Red Steel and ripped away the plastic on the front. So when I trade it in, I'll have to swap the boxes.
  21. Takes a while to get used to the controls, not sure if I like the puzzles as much as the SMB1 and 2 (They seem more like "tracks" than puzzles if that makes sense) Am I right in thinking that cos I've got 2 Wiimotes I can only play 2 player even in minigames where you take turns? That sucks, Wiiports shows pass the pad can work.
  22. It happens less for me when it's flat I noticed. Still annoying tho, once you hear the click*whirrrr*click*whirrrrr* of death the game is unplayable until you take it out and put it back in again (It's OK saying ignore the noises, but they're accompanied by loading times of about 20 seconds between, say, the Wiimote, Sega and monkey Ball title screen and then usually a disc error if you keep trying to play). It's almost like the disc doesn't settle into the right place when it goes in. Hopefully it'll settle down - if I returned it to Nintendo do you reckon they could send me another (or at least repair mine) straight away, or would I have to wait ages until there were huge shortages? Fingers crossed it's gonna be OK, had a great time playing Wii Sports last night with 4 mates.
  23. Don't think I'd get away with unpacking them! Sometimes it's fine and never makes a sound. It's fine as long as you've got the disc in. Other times "Click click weee-whrrrrrr, weee-wrrrrrr, weee-wrrrrrr" all the time, long loading times followed by a disc read error
  24. Mine's a heap of shit, it sounds like it's having a seizure when trying to read the disc.
  25. Played about 15 mins and first impressions are that it's pretty shoddy. It looks and controls like a dog. The graphics are messy, the cut scenes are embarrassing, your character sometimes spins around mentally for no reason and the "help" box that takes up the top half of your screen wont go away until you've killed the baddies shooting you while your half blinded.
