How To Make The Shiny New "Vista/Mac" Buttons Look?
Jasper replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
First you make a circle with a gradient going from darker to lighter (bottom to top), then you make a stroke with a gradient black/white in 45° - don't make it to thick, but it adds up to the effect. Make a new layer and select a smaller circle (about three quarters of the size) and place it on top in the middle of your circle. Then make a circle-gradient from white to transparant. It will look like a genuine Apple button. If you want to get the windows taskbar look just make a gradient with the following details: Dark color (on location 0), lighter color (location 50), a much lighter color (loçcation 51) and then the lightest color (location 100). Now just use this gradient and it will look 'about' genuine Vista-taskbar. -
HD Today - is it really necessary right now?
Jasper replied to david.dakota's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Nintendo and Panasonic are quite close, but a signal is a signal. It sends the same signal to a Sony as to a Panasonic, so it just depends on how good the telly interprets it. -
HD Today - is it really necessary right now?

You're all acting as if the graphics that Wii is able to perform are bad. Can developers and publishers show what they want to show, and do they find it aabsolutely necessary for a character to have a micro-pixel sized color shade on their cheeks? It's more about how they show it then with what they show it. it's about styl,e immigration and emotions. If you are connected to the game you don't look at the graphics. If they do bother you, the game is just bad. Check Super Mario Galaxy - that looks great, no matter what. In three or four years Nintendo will have the next gen ready, cheap and with heaps of developers ready to do it on a not-too-expensive way. So, why not get heaps of developers aboard now, advertise for the big public (using the wife-o-meter) and get loads of people on board without them really realizing what HD is, yet? And after that, we're going to go for betetr visuals, but cheaper. The hardware will be cheaper by then and, by then, that generation can't graphicly enhance anymore - Ultra HD is not for today nor tomorrow and it's too realistic, it makes you sick. So what are Sony And Microsoft pulling of next generation? It's good Nintenbdo halted a generation that's not ready yet. The big public will enjoy cheap HD in a few years from now on WiI2 and microsoft and Sony will be stuck with their processing power consoles not knowing wht update to do next. -
The Great Global Warming Swindle - Channel 4
Jasper replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
You're right, it does beat boiling oceans off course. On the other hand, we breath air, don't we? So don't we kind of need it? Now if it gets to warm - we're in for trouble. because we're not the only ones living on air. Every plant adopted for cold air is getting heated air. Now there's a problem. The agriculture has to change, the way of life has to change and people can't live at the equatator anymore. Along with that the water level rises, so more and more land is taken over and - even more! - our population is still growing (to 9 billion in about thirty years from now - but on the other hand, we're running out of land for them all! Yes, it's all caused by hot air - but it's certainly not something to let happen. -

Have you noticed the double meaning here? Heated, you see? I'vs een An Inconvenient thruth and to be honest - I'm inconveniently converted to a new Al Gore. The things he shows there are so factual, that they're almost astonishing. Pretty good stuff. You can check it at http://www.peekvid.com if you want. I thought it was on there. -
One Album: Blinking Lights and Other Revelations (EELS). Okay, you made me doubt here. It might just be Dead Man Ray, but you don't know the soddy bastards anyway - so I'lls tick the one you can find on the web. if you're willing, find some music of Dead Man Ray - they're dead good. I love this album, though, because it's so about life and much less about love. Wich, in these times, is so rare. it takes some great songs, lyrics and concepts to the drawing board and comes back with an entire big picture of the society today. And I know the lyrics by heart now. One Movie: American Beauty - didn't see this one coming uh? Runners up would be About a Boy and Hitch (simply because I love the confidence in the film). American Beauty is so good - it's such an portayed film. It's the regular life, it's the simplicity yet the complexity. It's much deeper than it looks at first sight - and it's simply beautifull. One Book: De LinkerBorst van Aphrodite (The left boob of Aphrodite) - probably a book you don't know - it's Dutch, you silly bastards - in wich the writer becomes the main character of the story. He wants to be like the character he invented in his books and rolls into a scheme set up by malicious people and ends up being the good guy - the hero in the end. About a writer that becomes what he wants. Runner-up: Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter (all of them are finely written) and about all books by Isaac Asimov. Lovely writer, that one.

If they beef it up like that, than leave it be. The entire original game was destroyed thanks to the fighting setup. Keep it the ways it is and focus on story, Ancel.

Oh my silly God - we're not Nintendo, kiddo! How are we supposed to know that? And even if we would be Nintendo, we would only be in planning stages right now - no need to think of story just yet. We'll see what Nintendo manages for the enxt Zelda. They have to keep it realistic, just for the sake of keeping players coming to their system - don't get me wrong, I prefer The Wind Waker, but it's jsut not as attractive to non-tendos. Just a question - what would you like to see in the next Zelda? Name as many things as you want. Mine would be a good Ganondorf that turns evil and even madd, a quest for the holy items (ocarina, wind waker and master sword) to kick the game into start and, very important, a looming war and the ending of the series (with the final blow to Ganondorf). Maybe we could have flashbacks with Ganondorf in it, explaining some story of him once being good, but then turned bad by the Evil... Maybe make everything revolve around Feirce Deity and Majora? Since Majora's weren't made by the holy three, they are the perfect opposites of the good world... Or maybe they were turned into Twilights! And the three wizards were maybe part of the Majora tribe! I always thought Midna's Mask was recognizable... That's my hopes, though.

Half the price wouldn't cut it. They would make the same profit and give everyone a official copy if they cut it off to about 40 to 50 euro's (that'll be around 25 pounds for you, British). But 250 (170 for you, Britanica) is way too much for regular consumers...

You don't really see the sarcasm here, do you? It's been announced for ages and the plans are still at a Nintendo desk waiting to be finalized. They don't seem to get it started. Beyond Good and Evil was a phenomenal game - to say the least. It captured the imagination, but it was released alongside to other topgames (one of them was Splinter Cell), so the game was a financial blow for Ubisoft. I'm pretty sure, though, that they can get to sell it if they launch it well timed and the most important reason for it is that it has become such a cult-game that releasing it would make everyone buy it.
-
I'm pretty sure that it's just nasty bullshit about that stock-issue. Yes, the financial year is over - but they will announce things for the new financial year, wich means it doesn't affect them. And all announcements are positive announcements for the stock - if the ideas are good off course, you need to have some market for them, too. But we'll see. I'm pretty sure Miyamoto has some interesting stuff to say and (from what i see as a pattern now) maybe the monthly channel will be revealed, showing that it's the Wii Music and Video Codex Channel. Hope, off course.

Apparantly, you don't really get it. The screen is the same, accept the size of it. There are more ports, you're right. Durability is a lie - the Metal you see isn't a casing, it's painted. The casing of the macBookj and MacBook Pro have the same durability - they're both made of polycarbon, except that the MacBook ons is white and the pro one is metal spray-paint. And about way more speed - yes, if you are going to edit films it's true, if you're going to chat, email, edit photo's and run a conference call to your advertisement agency, then no. Macs are incredibly stable and have minimised slowdown, even on the non-pro series. If you buy Pro, though, you'll get what you want: professional stuff - wich means making you own home film is in there, and - and this is the msot seperating, but easiest to crack feature - the option to have to screens acting seperatly instead of simultaneous with MacBook. There's a hack for normal LacBook, though - so those graphic cards are able to push much more than you think. It doesn't really matetr wich one you buy except if you're going to work with a lot of RAW material (like photo's in RAW-format or fully DV film), then I'de go for pro. All the rest is just a laod of bollocks. Of course, professionals take the pro merely because Apple's statement on pro is accepted worldwide.

Nintendos strategy - And why - 'they' cant copy it.
Jasper replied to ManiLink's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Nintendo knows it will be copied if they can make it succesfull - so they should be flattered that the competitors admit that Nintendo was right. And thinking of Sony and Microsoft copying it, it will probably feature way to many buttons. It would look more like a real remote control, wich is, again, not as attractive to grandfathers and mothers around the globe, because they do'nt seem to be able to read all those things above the buttons. LANG, SUBT, AUDI, STER, DOLB. It's hard life. This how PlayStation 4 codebooks will work: Press play, left, right, fast-forward, tv, language, audio, audio, OK, right, right, return, hit HOME while you're at it, push 1, 3, 6, 4, 2, 9, 8. Now you're at the select screen. Push left, right, subtitle, audio-track, dolby, serround, 2, 5, 0, 8, ... Sounds like good fun. -
The man makes sense. Couldn't we all jsut accept that it's louzy writing rather than 'secretive' timelines that they won't reveal? I'm pretty sure Aonouma and Miyamoto don't have the foggiest of how exactly all Zelda games fit in time. They jsut say they won't reveal it because they don't know it, either, wich means they're just trying to tell loads of stories with no specific timing. Why is that so hard to accept?

Indeed. Let's be honest here - why is he o-so matura about being drunk? Sorry, but everyone should know by now that bragging about being drunk on the entire net is not the beest thing. Like talking about your love-life in public.

He decided to give Midna a chance to try and make things right. he thought she would fail anyway.

Nintendos strategy - And why - 'they' cant copy it.
Jasper replied to ManiLink's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Smart one. It's stupid to think that it won't be copied. In the end, it's only flatery for Nintendo to be copied. It's just so incrementaly stupid. There's something fundamentaly wrong with people thinking that Nintendo will be the only one with such a controller if ti's succesfull. -
The NGC theory makes sense, too. It's just what you believe in. It's not like it's required to be one way or another, Nintendo just churns out Zelda's - they're not all related to each other. The first Zeldas were almost story-less. I'm getting annoyed by this. When you read Wikipedia they make suggestion about the origins of Samus and they could, possibly, also predict what type of mushroom appears in Super Mario Bros 1 and how it's poisenous afect is. There is no official order. Games starting from Ocarina of Time are part of the timeline, the others are just stories that were not meant to be together. So are all the Game Boy spinoffs. Why does everybody so desperatly want a storyline to fit, even though we can obviously say that some stories just don't fit in because they weren't made for that purpose. Now let's quit the discussion, it's all a matter of opinion anyway. No need to start talking bad about NGC Magazine - their theory is as valid as any other.
-
You know, Nintendo is very secretive. If just any bit (like the name) of the new Zelda was announced by Nintendo, the gaming world would be upsidedown and everyone would know. For now, every bit of info on the new Zelda is pure speculation. Don't forget, Twilight Princess' story wasn't ddefined in the first year in development - I remember the producers not being sure about where it would fit. 'Definitly after the Wind Waker' was the original concept. Pure. Speculation.
-
It almost sounds to easy, doesn't it? Well, it's not like Microsoft isn't making enouegh money already so losing about seven billion wont be any of Billion-Bill's trouble. It does sound kind-of easy to crack Vista apparantly.

1. The flood still is a nasty ending. Just imagen it. It doesn't make sense, does it? Okay, if thye last iimage of the game would be Link on top of a mountain watching the flood coming and a few people (possible WindFall) being saved - but if people get killed, it's not Zelda. 2. He could be hiding, yes, he could be part of the Twilight or, he could have failed. Maybe he was trying to fight something to big for his head - and he failed, so the last chance was a flood. He was in too deep in it.

The question is, were do we go from here? If we all agree on evolution, how long will it take for mankind to become even better? Can we still improve a lot? Is there a new gateway to evolution open for us? Yes, I stole a sentence from heroes there? I believe that some concepts that are portretted in Heroes are actually possible. not about the flying, but the girl with the tremendously good ears might be possible and tissue generation - although not that fast - can be achieved if we evolve, since we do it alol the time and the people who are better at it survive, no?

Seen it before but it's a great song. Certainly when he says 'how you killed your brand'. He might just be right...

Indeed, that is what I look like. After a few easthetic changes and talks with plastic surgeonts, thgis is the result. They also picked out half my brain and stole my left brain-side. Indeed.

If you're asking what's better it would be a MacBook Pro. But if you're not into video-editing I'de go for a normal Macbook - they're cheaper and they've got a good hardware configuration. The color of course is different, too, but you pay a price for it.
