  1. Believe me, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD are equal except on size, wich varies 8 Gb. Not really something to complain about, that. Graphics and sound are almost equal - it only depends on what movie-publishers do with that power. And I know about the unified format. I've got a mac, so I probably won't have a choice but go for Blu-Ray later on (becausse Apple backs Blu-Ray) - so I feel pretty much... screwed. This format waar is useless - it would make far more profit for all if they had a unified format, meaning they didn't have to spend all that money on fighting each other. And it would make publishing movies much easier...
  2. I only have one problem with the comment: What the hell is 'better'? How can you say wich is 'better'? They both utilise the same technologies - the only difference lays in the coding of the content. And yes, HD-DVD has slightly lesser capacity but will that ever be a difference? Just like with DVD, they just drop a second bonus-HD-DVD for all the extra content, if it doesn't fit one full HD-DVD. It's all so stupid. They should have made a unified format.
  3. Safari RSS is a slick browser, allowing you to do heaps of things. Certainly the built-in RSS is a breeze and it helps you keep track of things. Yes, it's not as expandable as other browsers, but at least I don't have to login to N-Europe everytime I load it, like with FireFox - Safari just flatly remembers yours password and keeps you logged in. It has a smooth and simple interface that's easy to edit and it works pretty fast - if your computer is fast, that is, because every now and then, it dissapoints. And by enabling the 'debug' menu (you'll need the applescript for that wich I've lost), you can act as if you were IE7 or Firefox. IE7 is kind of a nice browser but it's still a little feature lacking here and there. It has the looks, but it's to simplified. Stopping a page from loading has become a burden to do - its far from easy or accesible in that sense. It's a nice browser, nonetheless, but it doesn't even pass the ACID2 test by far. It's still a crappy renderer that thinks of a new line of HTML as if it were a blank space. Very odd browser, but in Microsoft terms it's a pretty decent effort, and at least it loads faster than Firefox. Firefox has been on my try-to-convert list for quite a while now, yet it doesn't convince me. The interface is clumsy, it's a little slow for me and the loading takes ages. It's a nice browser, but with so many features avaible, it's hard to find the ones you need, like a decent reader for RSS to get my feeds on my plate. Still a nice browser nonetheless, but again,k it's not one that's begging me to switch.
  4. Give me numbers, since - of what I notice - UMDs don't sell unless they're even cheaper than normal or if Sony hands them away to you. Prove it with facts, please?
  5. And you're in the wrong topic - flameboy already posted this. So mods, it's delete-a-thon again.
  6. I don't even know those movies... Blu-Ray has the most backing from movie-companies, though - that's true.
  7. Now I'm dressed up like the man in my avatar that scares the fuck out of you lot. Hope that freaks you lot out. And, oh, these pictures were made for my Integrated Test for school - you know, my final. I'm art school, so I'm making these kind of pictures. This was just a test for how the person on the picture should be dressed - costume fitting, therefore. I don't usually wear all-white.
  8. The beginning of modern, swedish pop in an incredibly outrageous costume for it time. Full of hits (and sparkles on their uniforms). Not my kind of thing, but it's been hugely popular, so it's a nice, round (double-round) 8. Maybe you don't know these guys, but I'll give it a go anyway: dEUs If you don't know them, finjd some music from them ('seven days, seven weeks' is a good one - and don't forget 'little arithemtics'). Really, they're top-notch.
  9. This is awesome. Come on, faking your own death? If he aat least took the time to erase all traces - like YouTube accounts. If this chap ran off with money of others, he might be assured of a restless life all thanks to a copy of PAINT... This is going to become quite a nice scandal. Wonderfully faked death - except for the fact that people haven't seen his dead body, funeral, prove. He's in for some trouble...
  10. Every HD-disc player can play DVD's, as well as CD's. And no, it's not early to decide yet. But in the end it will be Bluray that wins - if only because Sony is a gigantic movie pusher on their own. We'll see.
  11. Actually, I was referring to the disc, not the reader. If all published discs were Hybrid, there was no need to choose anyway.
  12. The only problem is how they count their sales. Blu-Ray sales include every free BD they give away with PS3's, in competition, ... They really had a lot of counts that are not worth it. Here's a tip for the winner: Hybrid. It's perfectly possible and it runs right now. it's a little more expensive, but on the long run it will be cheap.
  13. Like Anakenobi said, you're seeing the facts from a few years ago. They're not right at the present moment anymore. We all see what's happening to the PlayStation brand? You say it the way it is, well, you've probably been blind all those years because whezn I see a detoriation of a brand, I know.
  14. You've goit balls touching the fag subject in this topic, Cox, certainly since your first words seem pretty anti-fags! I remember a discussion that was wrapped up because of this. There is no trace of the discussion nor the people that were in it. Sounds like an interesting program, though. Reminds me of those hitler-fanatics in America who move out of a town when a niger (sorry, black person) moves in saying that the town is 'inpure'. They wear shirts with Go Hitler! on it and clip-ons with a smiley that forgot to shave (and therefore has a hitler-mustache). Anyone seen it?
  15. Completely right, DCK. They are just a small group of the entire population in gaming. yes, there are always people who don't buy Nintendo - but on the other hand, this forum is full of those people who'll never buy a PlayStation. Okay, not completely right, but then again: I've only bought Nintendo products up untill now, and I think there are many of us out there that do the same. Sorry, lilster, you've yet to convince me.
  16. Now let's look at history. Somebody back in the day told me that people will keep buying Nintendo-products, no matter what. And then came PlayStation. It's so simple: PlayStation 2 is favorable, but right now it's got to much problems to tackle with the Xbox360 - wich has gained huge popularity. Right now, all Sony can do is lose. They won't get the same market share as the PS2 anymore. The 'they'll buy it, no matter what'-time is over. People don't stay fooled. You asume that they'll win again because they've done it before, but Nintendo won once, too - and they didn't keep their thing even though they had the better console, did they?
  17. All April fools, make you way - we're collecting you here. WiiHelm - for the geeky gamer http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?p=404373 What a stupid idea - but the render is quite nice (courtesy of Flameboy) The future is ready.. for Zelda! http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/31/april-fools-alert-1-wii-tvs-future-zelda/ Star Wars, mixed with FInal Fantasy and a quirky teenage voice - almost as if Nitnendo made it themselves. At least 'Nintendo ON' was convincing. Wii-volution - HD evidence in not so much of and HD photo http://www.engadget.com/2007/04/01/wii-volution-hdmi-enabled-160gb-hdd-packing-wii-are-you-fool/ If the picture wasn't that blurry, I would have said it was a Wii-render. Thanks to the blurry picture, I highly doubt we'll be seeing HD-pictures on Wii... and HDMI? Nintendo doesn't even get the rights to play DVD's from Sony... Anyone found any more Wii-related April-fools! Post-'m-here, lads!
  18. Nice one, substeinar.
  19. If Project H.A.M.M.E.R. turns out like this, I'de be happy. This would be the perfect twist for a Zelda game, but I hihgly doubt Nintendo would take the risk... And what was that other IP Nintendo had in development? They announced it togerther with project H.A.M.M.E.R. and it was set in the future, too...
  20. EDIT (for being to late): Nice! Go go gorilaz (okay, they're pretty good, but I don't listen to them on a daily basis) EELS
  21. Leave Ken where he is - that'll keep Nintendo aiming for world domination with nothing in between today and the day they control all those pesky whips (remote-controller, that is). If Kutaragi goes on like this, he"ll kill the playstation brand in a matter of years. Not that anyone should miss them - Microsoft is there to take over and do it even better.
  22. But not officialy. If you dad makes money with these programs, then don't try it. There are a few rules for these copies: the computers have to be in the same office inviroment and they are supposed to serve the same purpose (home, professionak, ..). If your dad makes a living thanks to these applications, don't risk it - if (and I say IF, since chances are slim, though) you get cought you'll be having a problem.
  23. Thansk for your usefull reply. It will be faster with eSATA, but lkike I said: I don't know anything about it. And USB 2.0 is pretty fast, too. But then again, you're probably right. Good luck tackling your problem, but nobody else seems wiling on the forum to reply. How odd...
  24. Good to know. I might be tempted to buy the game, then. Oh, on topic: Woot Iwata!
  25. Erm... I'de stick with the USB one - it's easier to transport data and it's fast enough; I don't know anything about SATA discs, but I know my Maxtor 320Gb works fine over USB.
