flameboy Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 PLEASE EVERYBODY! play Repton from this link: repton etc... I've just stopped playing it, its such a good game, like I said before it is my earliest gaming memory, and nostalgia is a glorious thing it is still great, the graphics are simplistic and have aged ok I'd say, they managed to create a great character, and later on it is a real challenge. it was even made into a film: only kidding LOL!
blender Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 lol @ flameboy in my thread about the possibility of flash games through opera you said.... yeah lock this before it goes mad again, there is nothing big. and look at you now
flameboy Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 lol @ flameboyin my thread about the possibility of flash games through opera you said.... and look at you now thanks for that... right ok if somebody comes up with a flash version that will run on the Wii then yeah great I'll take it back, it uses the cursor keys not the mouse at them mo.
Ginger_Chris Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Mario rpg (It was so good last time i played it) Super mario 3 (best game ever produced ever) Marble Madness (maybe i can complete t this time) Mario 64 (cos i havent played it and really should)
fukudasolokomalakikenanze Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Three games I want to see on the Virtual Console in particular [one for each Nintendo system, NES, SNES & N64]: For the Nintendo Entertainment System I want to see the "original" Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy 1 the 1st game that has created one of the longest running and most successful game series ever. I believe it never was released in PAL regions, if it was, disregard it. For Super Nintendo, I'd like to see Earthbound - Absolutely essential, never released in PAL regions and a really unique game it is. For the Nintendo 64, the game i'd like to see in particular is Sin and Punishment: Successor to the Earth. An arcade on rails shooter that unfortunately wasn't released in PAL regions, another good game not experienced by people in PAL regions. I have the exact same requests if I had to choose only one game per Nintendo system.
Migraine Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Super mario 3 (best game ever produced ever) Woohoo! Someone else who apreciates it's genius over Super Mario World! (Not that SMW wasn't good, mind). I never completed Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link as there was a bug on the second-to-last boss (and it was ruddy hard anyways), so I'll give that one a go. I'd like to get some Double Dragon games to plough through again too. Hmm what else... Super Smash TV (snes) Duck tales (nes, flameboy's mentioned that, good call!) Probotector/Contra (snes) Life Force: Salamanda (nes) Ogre Battle 64 (N64) I'd also like to see Battletoads and Snake Rattle n Roll but they were made by Rare so the likelyhood of them turning up is doubtful I suppose
xernobyl Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Grand Theftendo http://www.grandtheftendo.com/ (not working ATM) It's a GTA homebrew clone, not yet finished. http://images.google.pt/images?svnum=10&hl=pt-PT&output=images&btnG=Pesquisa+Google&safe=off&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sa=N&q=Grand+Theftendo&tab=wi And xbox360's live arcade exclusive version of Sensible Soccer ;(
ViPeR Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Pretty sure I posted already but it seems to have dissapeared... Anyway I want to see Streets of Rage 2 and 3, mainly 3 so I don't have to pay £35 for the privelage of owning a 20 year old cartridge that probably won't work. I'd also probably download some I already own just out of convenience really. I hope they do decide to update some games (they've mentioned it's possible) as I really want online co-op in some of them.
flameboy Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 yeah i'm hoping the reason alot of quality multiplayers have been held back is for my idea I discussed before Virtual Console Versus (seriously dunno where I get them from) with leaderboards etc... mario kart online, streetfighter, Bomberman (SNES version), even Mario races across the single player levels?
Nintendork Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 You could do it with SNES9x, it was okay. Little bit of an effort to set up. I don't expect it, solely because Reggie said they wouldn't. I was suprised when I heard they added a save feature on the NES games so you didn't have to use passwords.
flameboy Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 You could do it with SNES9x, it was okay.Little bit of an effort to set up. yeah you've said that before, don't think Nintendo would make it such an effort though with any luck.
Guest Stefkov Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I totally forgot, Get Force Gemini. Many hours spent on that gameme and my brother had done. I was always the little robot guy, he was the best. Unlimited ammo, shoot underwater, he had his own little mini games. I'd love to play that again. Shooting the aliens with green blood coming out of them was great. I'm sure there was a bear on one of the levels aswell?!? Banjo Kazzoie was an awesome game. Shooting eggs out of Kazzoie's arse was hilarious when you were about 7. Turning into different animals was fun aswell, i think it was mumbo jumbo his name? He could turn you into an ant, an aligator, a pumpkin, a washing machine. I cant remember the rest, but running around as that aligator was fun. I remmeber the snow level, where you had to race on a tobbogan against some guy, i think he was a polar bear. If this is all true then i have a better memory than i had thought i had. The soundrack was great, a different one for each level, the snow level one I just mentioned was good. Goldeneye....the name just says it all. Anyone remember the level with that runway? there was a tank round the back on the side, Countless enemies would come and come if you didnt finish the level. I remember my bro killed nudred before he got bored and finished the level.
DCK Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 There was this Mickey Mouse game on the Mega Drive which I really enjoyed when I was about 7. That would be pretty cool to download :awesome:
flameboy Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 There was this Mickey Mouse game on the Mega Drive which I really enjoyed when I was about 7. That would be pretty cool to download :awesome: Castle of Illusion, or it's sequel World of Illusion which had an awesome co-op mode. they were really good games, the last great disney game? (or were aladdin and lion king after this?)
Fierce_LiNk Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 World of Illusion was a classic game! I think that is one of my favourite games ever. You're right, too. The Co-op mode was great. And the soundtrack. Oh, the nostalgia!
flameboy Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 glad somebody agrees, alot of people I know say the coop was rubbish, boy they were wrong, I wonder where the VC will lie with licensed games like that? cos surely a certain cut will have to go to disney are nintendo will be making money off an IP that isn't their own?
DCK Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 If Nintendo gives Disney even two cents of the profit on the VC games then those commercial bastards will do it.
Nintendork Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Disney is pretty protective of it's content I think. Everything has to be in house (which is why they've just opened a studio solely for Nintendo-Disney games) I don't think they'll end up on the Virtual Console solely because kids won't want to play average Nintendo games when they could be playing Disney/Pixar movie license at full price.
flameboy Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Bit disappointing to read this on CVG: Multiplayer games - will these now incorporate an option to allow the second/third/fourth player to connect over the internet to play, as some PC emulators have made possible? Nintendo: All games will be faithful recreations of the original versions so they will not feature new functions like multiplayer or internet play if the original title did not. for the full report read here: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=149023
Guest Stefkov Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 But what about games that are multiplayer? I'm sure i saw F-zero down as single player in a screnshot. If im not mistaken that was multiplayer, was it not? Im not bothered about playing old games online with other people. These games will be for my pleasure time, sounds 'wrong' but im stating what will happen.
Nintendork Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Putting old titles online will only cause people to spend less money on newly released Wii titles that are intended to use NintendoConnect24. Reggie has gone on record saying that games will not be changed.. he said and I quote "I want to play Kid Icarus just like it was when I was a kid". So besides the instant save feature for NES games and minor improvements in graphical output over the predated hardware. I see no reason why they would support online play. Sorry. I wanted it as much as you.
Emasher Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 so some of the oldies have save. just to let you who dont get wii for another few weeks the wii shop channel is really slow. any way maybe on sunday i will be getting: super mario bros (nes) a link to the past (snes) sonic the headgehog (genisis)
Fierce_LiNk Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Guys, i'm going to be doing my first podcast with the N-E guys tomorrow! I'm in charge of discussing what we discussed in this thread, so i'll do my best to give a mention to most of you. I'm a bit overwhelmed with the responses this and the other thread got, so i won't be able to name all of you. However, check it out within the week to see if you got a mention, k?
antster1983 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 But what about games that are multiplayer? I'm sure i saw F-zero down as single player in a screnshot. If im not mistaken that was multiplayer, was it not? It wasn't. F-Zero was always single player. Only from F-Zero X was it split-screen multiplayer.
