solitanze Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 You think well see yet another installment of this party game franchise on the Wii with say simulated dice rolling where you actually shake the Wii mote as if you're rolling a dice in your hand followed by a flick as if you're letting the dice go like you do in a real board game?
blender Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Thats a great idea. I am really looking forward to all these sequels with novelty controls tacted on.
Kazzahdrane Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 In all fairness, Mario Party will probably be great on the Wii. I haven't really played much of any of the series since the first on the N64 but I understand that latest one for the GC (7?) was pretty good. Plus Nintendo have shown that they're pretty good at coming up with ways to use the wiimote so I imagine MPWii will be full of fun minigames using it.
SpinesN Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 wario ware > mario party I got board of that board game shell in mario party 3 :/
Kazzahdrane Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Wario Party. Damn I need a job at Nintendo getting paid to come up with this stuff.
solitanze Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 Wario Party. Damn I need a job at Nintendo getting paid to come up with this stuff. That has just about as much a chance of becoming a reality as Mii Sex being a minigame in Wii Sports.
Owen Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Mario Party should be fantastic on the Wii. Theres so many ideas they could do! Lets hope they use the controller to the best of it's ability.
Nintendork Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Super Monkey Ball will own Mario Party. WarioWare will do well but I think Monkey Ball has much more value for money.. Single player + 50 multiplayer games. And knowing Sega Europe prices competitively (Touch and Roll and Rub Rabbits being cheap titles) I'd expect Super Monkey ball to be £29, with WarioWare and Mario Party at £39 being first party titles.
Mike Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I'm really surprised we're not getting Mario Party 8 this Christmas, actually.
Nintendork Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 That link has nothing except an announcement that it exists..
ShadowV7 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Wonder how many Mario Party games there will be for the Wii....
DCK Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 One game and download updates with Wii Points. That's the system.
Kazzahdrane Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Unlikely. Some people won't use the VC and so you'll want a way of getting more money from them after a couple of years - so another Mario Party game then.
InvaderElmo Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Maybe they aren't making a Mario Party this year because the online system won't really be established until at the very least Dec 2nd. I think they want the first Mario Party Wii to really be a blast since people are getting tired of the series (or at least reviewers are). Plus it seems like half the games coming out this winter are just collections of mini-games.
Atomic Boo Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Hasnt there been 4 installations already on the GC. The Wii will probably match that.
blender Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I'd think a party game involving Mii characters would be great. However, I'm sick of every franchise becoming a compilation of mini-games.
Nintendork Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I'd like to see it go online.. that's what they were talking about with the DS version. Just rumours though. With voice chat and 4-8 player mini games that would be a laugh any time of the day, it really is pointless trying to have fun with Mario Party on your own.
mcj metroid Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 mario party is the most over rated game series nintendo has ever created.i cant see what anyone likes in it sorry.(i only have played all the n64 games ill admit) hudson make it for crying out loud.it could be far far far better if they got rid of the board game.wario ware trashes it hell even crash bash trashes it.....well almost.
Retro_Link Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 This is how the Mario Party series works; N64 - 1,2,3 GC - 4,5,6,7 Wii - 8,9,10,11,12 But seriously, there should be fewer editions this time if they use downloads, but then again; if it sells, it sells!
Kurtle Squad Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 The Wii would only get 2 or 3 of them. 1 every 2 years or something, every year is too much.
ZeldaFreak Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 They could always make it that your mii as been invited by Mario to compete and each board has a boss like DK and when you defeat them you get to play as them. In classic mode, and Wiivalution mode
Tellyn Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Wasn't there also one on GBA? And I really am certain one was announced for DS...
Owen Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Definately one on the GBA! Should be one on the DS. Online and you use the stylus for mini-games etc..
solitanze Posted September 29, 2006 Author Posted September 29, 2006 Instead of releasing up to game 11 in the series by the end of the Wiis life cyclce, they should do something similar to GT: HD, release an initial version of the game at budget price with online capabilities where you can verse random people around the world and instead of buying additional installments each and every time, you buy additional game boards, characters, minigames, sound clips additional title screen pictures the works via the Virtual Console. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.
