Blue_Ninja0 Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I liked Death Note a lot, but that's just one episode. Let's see if the story is good enough.
Calza Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I really like Death Note but isn't there going to be about 8 subbers doing it? I'm just going to stick with Toriyama World.
Supergrunch Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Supergrunch you just lost me there....... Could you explain that little thing in more detail? lol I'm confuddled. =P Basically, Rika experiences every arc. Each time she dies (which, if you noticed, she does every arc) she gets reincarnated in a new arc. So when she was in Meakashi-hen, she had already experienced Watanagashi-hen. Now, in the game, Rika was tortured to death by Shion in Watanagashi-hen. However, in Meakashi-hen, Rika, remembering Watanagashi-hen, realised the same was going to happen, so killed herself instead. Another interesting fact is that the Hinamizawa gas disaster doesn't happen in Watanagashi and Meakashi-hen (it does in all the other chapters). This is because Rika was killed by Shion (or commited suicide) in those chapters, rather than whatever killed her in the other chapters. In other words, Rika being killed in a different way prevented the gas disaster. (god knows why) In case you were wondering, everyone dies in every arc apart from Meakashi-hen and Watanagashi-hen, due to the gas disaster. This includes Onikakushi-hen and Tsumihoroboshi-hen... Rika was found killed in both these chapters prior to the disaster. So Tsumihoroboshi-hen didn't have such a happy ending after all... And yes, all this and more is revealed in the prologue of Minagoroshi-hen.
Sanchez Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 LiveEvil's where its at... Agreed, the yellow makes me want to spoon my eyes out, no idea why they can't use something more agreeable.
Zero Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Is that from that weird anime you posted about earlier.
ZeldaFreak Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I think they are teaching japanese people to understand what the word means, quite funny

Supergrunch Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I doubt they would be teaching them how to swear in english. You mean the first thing you learnt in Japanese wasn't kusokurae? Yes, I'm aware you may not have learnt Japanese...
Sanchez Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I don't get it. EDIT: HAHAHAHAHA I get it now, good stuff. Glad Haruhi and Eureka seven made it in as write-in's.
Shino Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Bah, what do japanese people know about anime and manga?! JACKSHIT!! Thats what they know.
Shino Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I was joking when I said that :p But now that you've asked... Manga: Hmm, I haven't read much manga but I would go with Berserk, a dark and tragic story of a man that just won't die. Anime: Anime is a tougher choice, but Naruto left the deepest scar. I don't care if it's mainstream or too comercial, it wasn't when I started watching. Runner-ups are: Neon Genesis Evangelion Dragon Ball Golden Boy GTO Trigun Rurouni Kenshin Now it's your turn Dante (and anyone that feels like it).
Dante Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Well mine are... Manga Love Hina XXXholic Anime Cowboy Bebop Ergo Proxy Gundam Wing Akira Suzumiya Haruhi Elfen Lied XXXholic Ah! My Goddess TV Black Lagoon Hellsing TV/OVA Ghost In The Shell: SAC
The3rdChildren Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 The best manga I have read is Love Hina. Wonderful art with characters you can really enjoy reading about. It's not the most complex story, but what Ken Akamatsu does have present is both lengthy and involving. There are other good mangas, but I'm more an anime fan than manga. Anime I have enjoyed and would recommend to others: Neon Genesis Evangelion Trigun DragonBall/Z/GT RahXephon Tenchi Ryo-Oki/GXP/TV1/TV2 El-Hazard OVA Chobits Gundam Wing Ah! My Goddess (boring, but heartwarming) There are more, but these ones call out to me. I don't really watch as much anime as some might think.
Guest Jordan Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Hmmm... I haven't read any manga past Initial D and i really enjoyed that so, yeah Initial D! :p. As for anime? I have way too many favourites, but heres the list ones i really enjoyed: Chobits Cowboy Bebop DN Angel Elfen Lied Full Metal Panic/Fumoffu!/The Second Raid Initial D First Stage/Second Stage/Fourth Stage Project D Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (this actually made me cry >_>) Mai HiME Mai Otome NGE Haruhi Suzumiya
