I heard it was a visual novel video game series. Kind of like one of those choose your own path books.

Not really, more like straight reading - I believe there is one choice (maybe a second) in all 8 arcs, and it's very inconsequential. There are however character sprites (amateurly drawn ones), sound effects, and music. Thankfully, unlike most visual novels, there's no porn.

 

Anyhoo, here's a picture of part of Onikakushi-hen (the first arc):

My friend told me to download a anime called "High School Girls" and i watched the first episode and it takes bad jokes too a whole new level!

I´ts like 10% high school girls and 90% panties and panty jokes.

 

For example: Girl falls down stairs (panty shot) and lands with her panties on the face of another girl (another panty shot)

I´m gonna watch it mostly because it´s... just bad

Shinsen have released ep 62 of D.Gray man. Doesn't look like they're canning it.

Before D.Gray man got the extended I think they were doing up to episode 65 before dropping it. But dunno if they're going to do it till 76 or not now.

Monster is incredible. I just saw episode 44, the plot twist at the end is amazing.

It wasn't Anna who killed Petrov and the corrupt cops, but Johan disguised as Anna. Holy crap. And his evil stare at the end. Fucking creepy guy.

I realised just now that Orihime from Bleach is the Loituma Girl.

That was being very, very, very slow by my standards. :blank:

Finally got the new Naruto. Off to watch it now.

 

 

They could have made that episode so much better than it was. Reading the little bit at the start before the action starts, not a lot of text at all...

I've actually lost all hope for the anime. It's painfull to watch. Seriously consider reading the manga instead. I've only watched up to episode 18 and a few eps here and there and only a few are worth watching.

What's the manga up to now then?

I don't really want to read it on a pc screen so I want to buy it. I've got the first 4 volumes.

Wiki says there is 40 volumes...eep. Might just read online and buy them gradually.

 

I'll still carry on with the anime, at some times it just looks soo good. When he hits Orochimaru it just looked awesome, all the action scenes were great in the episode but elongating it by having endless scenes with no action and no speech just ruined it.

Just typing this I was checking the volumes, 27 is out in America which is the end of the Sasuke and Naruto fight. Seems the next volume is out in March which is a fair bit away. It's not to bad reading it on a PC screen. The arc it's on just now, is easily the best in the series.

I don't usually agree with you guys views on Naruto, but they totally fucked this episode. Lots of awesome stuff happened but spendin 15 minutes staring at each other? C'mon!

Monster is one of the best anime series I have ever seen. Its characters are so well developped (Grimmer for the win), the music is fantastic and sets the atmosphere, it's tense, and the story is incredibly intriguing. A must watch.

The art totally sucked too, at least for the first 3/4. Both times now we've seen Naruto in 'that' state in part 2 he has been drawn by korean monkeys.

 

Doesn't it really help you appreciate the short series' like Eureka Seven and Death Note where the animation is consistently good.

I agree with the second paragraph. Shorter series have great consistency in their art. But then you really wish it doesn't end. I know I didn't want E7 to end. I wanted more, well an even happier ending. I wanted more from FMA but that might not come. Shame.

I actually liked the art it was stylish kinda like in the Naruto vs Sasuke episode.

For example, that screen shino took was something metaphysical and whatnot and I liked the styling. What I didn't like was the DBZ like "OMG HE IS SO STRONG!" "YES HE IS VERY STRONG!" *glare* "OH SO STRONG!"

Still, the story is getting fucking awesome, but you wouldn't notice since you already know it from the mange :P

Got to agree with hellfire, i thought the animation was actually pretty cool. I mean for an hour special where they're not gonna start the fight, it's the least they owed us. The staring bit was so stupid though, but its to be expected from the animators by now. Still that staring bit was nowere near as long (or irrelevant) as some of the moments from Bleach (anyone remember Yoroichi just sat there eating after her fight with the big espada).

that was bad but it was only about 1 minute, this was half the 'hour long special' which was also ruined by 2 omake and secret prize keywords which are useless to us over here. in the end there was about 10 minutes of action and 30 minutes of watching people stare at each other. it was very DBZ.
