Eenuh
We all know how much fun it is to spend hours and hours on end on the internet, just looking and reading random stuff, right? Yes. Well, I figured that it would be nice if we would have a topic on here that would have links on it to sites that are worth seeing. Random sites. Sites that you'd normally not really visit, cause they're not related to videogames or music or porno or whatever. Just sites that are beautiful, meaningful, random, weird... Something you think is cool and would like to share with others. So, I want you all to post a link (or more) to a site you think is worth checking out. Just because. Please no links to videogame sites or stuff like that. Might be difficult, but I'm pretty sure everyone has a site that he/she likes to visit, just because. My pick is a site that I found out about this year. It's http://postsecret.blogspot.com/ . The purpose of the site is for people to anonymously send in cards with a secret on there, something they haven't shared with anyone else yet. Every Sunday the site is updated with new cards and secrets and during the week, some people send in emails regarding some of the cards, to support the card sender or say that they've been through the same. I enjoy reading all the secrets and seeing some of the nice art. Also, this site has been able to make me cry a couple of times already. Because a secret is so sad, or because I recognize myself in what someone wrote. So I think this site is definitely worth seeing.

EchoDesiato
I visit www.ytmnd.com daily. It's a simple concept: using picture, sound and text funny (or just entertaining) websites are created. I admit, not all of them are funny, and lately lots of "ytmnd fads" are being reused. But among those are some true pearls. My favourites:http://yourethemannowdog.com/ http://cosbybebop.ytmnd.com/ http://nedmdrummer.ytmnd.com/ There's also www.zombo.com, I'll let that one speak for itself. I know, not really deep or meaningfull sites, but meh.

Aimless
This is a really good idea for a topic, and pun titles are always a good sign. Unfortunately my own contribution is a bit lacking, but I'll keep an eye out for any other links that might be suitable. First we have PostSecret's more literary sister: I imagine a few people have been linked to group hug before even if they don't remember it. On the more artsy side of things there's Plrds.com, a site focused around user-submitted Polaroids. The found Polaroids are the most interesting part, I think. And now some miniaturisation. Get ready to squint for the world's smallest website. If you prefer things on a grander scale, why not learn about extreme ironing. Think positive. And whilst you're riding that high, get motivated. And I think that's it. Oh, wait, there was this final warning.

Very funny, and sad. Personally I go on http://www.youtube.com to cheer myself up sometimes. It has everything you could want in terms of video clips/short movies. Eenuh
Some really nice suggestions. I'm especially enjoying http://www.43things.com right now. =3 Here is some random site I found once (don't even remember how). It's kinda weird, but cool too. Basically it's a guy who takes pictures of people in a train or metro and then puts them in a loop, so you get a weird moving picture. I'm horrible at explaining this. Just look. http://www.stopmotionstudies.net/ Site hasn't been updated in a while though, sadly. But maybe it'll inspire other people to do something similar on a bus or something. =P

Eenuh
I love stopmotion, i did it in media as one of the courses. We had to use plastecine..it was so hard. I've done plasticine stopmotion animations too (two actually), and indeed they take a lot of time and patience. This is a bit different though, not a real animation. Just cool and sometimes funny to watch. =

The3rdChildren
I wish I had something to contribute to this thread, but I'm afraid at the moment I don't. I'm up very late and I really ought to go to sleep soon. I just wanted to pop my head around this awesome thread and say that some of these websites are wonderfully unique and fun. If I can think of anything to add, I'll certainly do so. [edit] The PostSecret thing is... really upsetting and somewhat disturbing. It makes me uncomfortable. Aimless
Push those facts aside and make space in your brains for the raft of non-knowledge bound in the Uncyclopedia. And seeing as how Haver got away with One Life Left, here's one for prospective roofshoesmen. I hope someone helps field the beauty aspect soon, as my findings tend to lean towards the prosaic. Go on, end my eyes' 10-year dry spell.
Colin
Thought I'd bump this up! Eenuh - I know you'd definitely like to see this site (although I'm sure alot of people would love these animations). Psst! Pass It On... Psst! Pass it on... is a series of short animated films created in collaboration by a select group of motion graphics artists from New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Berlin. Inspired by the Surrealist game of Exquisite Corpse and the children's game of Telephone, the minute-long films consist of three sections by three different design teams. The artists worked sequentially, linking up their animations to create a single piece over the course of about 9 weeks. The films feature a variety of styles and methods of production including live-action, stop-motion, 3d & 2d animation. There are 6 seperate videos, which have hyperlinks on the left of that page I posted above. Check them all out, as there are some awesome visual effects in there. Aimless
Yes, another cat site. The categories are on your left, enjoy your stay. Well, actually this is more a bump in disguise. Note to self, be more subtle next time.
