dabookerman Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 3 Disc special edition, out in october !!! "Coming in October apparently, according to Konami - who should know these things, really Konami has revealed that Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence - Hideo Kojima's MGS rejig with online shenanigans - is set for release in Europe this October. Coming on three discs, the game will include an enhanced version of MGS3: Snake Eater on disc one while disc two sports a bunch of new modes, including a fully-online version of the game and recreations of the original MSX Metal Gear titles. There's also a three-and-a-half hour movie recut based on the game's cinematics on disc three. Enhancements to the original game include a new 3D camera based on the system from upcoming MGS4, enabling gamers to view the action from any angle, while online modes on disc two range from Sneaking Missions, Capture Missions and Rescue Missions to the more traditional Death Matches and Team Death Matches. Elsewhere on the discs, you'll find the Demo Theatre, enabling you to watch any of the games cut-scenes on a whim, a Duel Mode where you can take on Boss characters from MGS3 head-to-head and a Secret Theatre showcasing a bunch of spoof movies, including the return of Raiden. So yes, all this can be yours this October in Europe. The jig of feverish anticipation shall now commence." ZE WINNER
Hellfire Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 FINALLY! Because the camera in MGS3 sucked hard. Yes.
Blue_Ninja0 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I wouldn't mind a remake of this game and MGS2 on Wii, just like they did with MGS1. I don't own a PS2, that's why.:p
Babooo Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Not really bothered with this....already played MGS3, not gonna splash more cash for a special edition version.
Owario Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 I'm going to be borrowing a friend’s PS2 and renting MGS3 soon so I can finally play it. The original plan was to wait for Subsistence, but I just can't bear to wait any longer. I would only be getting it for the better camera anyway, as I've already played the MSX games and probably wouldn't ever use the online mode. Maybe if I end up buying a PS3 I'll get Subsistence, just for nostalgia's sake.
dabookerman Posted July 15, 2006 Author Posted July 15, 2006 Not really bothered with this....already played MGS3, not gonna splash more cash for a special edition version. Online mode MG1 included MG2 Solid snake - first time ever translated into english 3 hour Cinematic of what goes on in MGS3 trailers This is like the extended version of lotr, except MORE
Helmsly Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 7 months after the Americans got this game and they havnt added anything to it. My copy of Snake eater was damaged so I was going to wait and get Subsistence instead of another copy of snake eater but I'm not waiting until October for this.
dabookerman Posted July 16, 2006 Author Posted July 16, 2006 I know a certain company that are 10 times worse.
Blue_Ninja0 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 I know a certain company that are 10 times worse. I wonder wich one it is...:p
Domo Kun Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 I already own MGS3 Snake Eater. If I don't buy this game, I'll regret it. If I buy it, I'll regret it. I hate my life.
Fierce_LiNk Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 I already own MGS3 Snake Eater. If I don't buy this game, I'll regret it. If I buy it, I'll regret it. I hate my life. You may as well buy it. If you're going to regret it either way, then you may as well gain something.
KKOB Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 is this the rare three disc one as it was in america or some kind of cheaper repacked version? is this the only version available? no two disc? AND does anyone actually have their PS2s online??? lol i wish konami did and xbox version though.
dabookerman Posted July 16, 2006 Author Posted July 16, 2006 is this the rare three disc one as it was in america or some kind of cheaper repacked version? is this the only version available? no two disc? It comes in the 3 disc version, this is no mere upgrade.
KKOB Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 It comes in the 3 disc version, this is no mere upgrade. woot!!! i avoided picking up MGS3 for the past like year because of this package and ive been dying to get into it, especially now it has a proper camera!!! damn it i better finish MGS2 lmao
dabookerman Posted July 16, 2006 Author Posted July 16, 2006 woot!!! i avoided picking up MGS3 for the past like year because of this package and ive been dying to get into it, especially no it has a proper camera!!! damn it i better finish MGS2 lmao Finish, what do you mean, as in clear things up in the storyline I would say it clears quite a lot, like who the patriots, infact, it clears up almost everything up to the point where we left on in mgs2. its a very intimate telling of what went on before Solid snake was born
Hellfire Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I know a certain company that are 10 times worse. Square Enix? *Looks at ffxiii*
McMad Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Square Enix?*Looks at ffxiii* *Looks at Final Fantasy VII!* Oh I am so gonna get this because I haven't played MGS3 yet but still, i'm kinda disspointed that it isn't a continuation of MGS2, I don't really care about the earlier titles.
dabookerman Posted July 17, 2006 Author Posted July 17, 2006 MGS4 is a continuation of MGS2, The thing is we needed to know what happened before Snake was born, who were the patriots, why did Big Boss go bad, Ocelots past story etc etc. and er, i was referring to Nintendo...
Johelian Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Excellent, I never did finish MGS3 (kept getting distracted by seeing what wildlife I could drug) so Im looking forward to starting it again in this version. I personally dont mind these "bumper" editions of games; for something like MGS Im always keen to get hold of more related goodies.
immy Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I'm just gonna get the old version for 10 pound second hand, new camera angles and online in my opinion are not worth 20 pound
