Hero-of-Time Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Just read the review in this months OPM, it got a perfect 10/10. Also has the release date for the uk been confirmed? Just many places aswell as the magazine have it down for 23rd Feb.
Domstercool Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Yeah, that seems to be the date from what I've heard too. Famitsu also gave it a 40/40, It was the first FF to get a perfect score and also the first PS2 game if I can remember rightly.
Hero-of-Time Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Yeah that is official date as Eurogamer has just posted about it today. Hopefully I will be able to get through Rogue Galaxy before it arrives as I hate playing 2 RPGs at once.
Hero-of-Time Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Hopefully this topic will burst into life come then, goodtimes ahead methinks. When playing FF or amy RPGs do you guys just go through the main game or are you a sidequest freak like me?
Domstercool Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Usually try do all the sidequest as well.
Hero-of-Time Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Usually try do all the sidequest as well. How are the sidequests in FFXII Dom? Are they plenty to do and are there any tedious ones?
Domstercool Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 I haven't finished the game yet, but yeah there is plenty. For starters 5 summons are only obtained through the story. The other 7 you have to find out yourself. There's also the monster hunting quests to do. Then you also have your typical boss side quests, things like the Omega. There's just loads and loads. It's your typical FF game in that respect for content.
Zell Posted January 13, 2007 Author Posted January 13, 2007 Not long to go now. Seriously it's been so long coming, my friend pre-ordered it over a year ago. Dom, how long would you say the game is compared to otehr FFs?
Samdecahedron Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Tomorrow, I'll be going into work and booking the 24th and the 25th off work so i have 4 days to play this. After FFX-2 turning out to be complete shite, this looks like a proper FF, with a great storyline and battle system. Just one question, is this one another love story?
Domstercool Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Since I haven't finished the game yet I can't really say on the length. I am 37 hours into it (Blame the Wii for sidetracking me, I'll get back to it very soon though). There isn't really love to say, not yet anyway. Just a good relationship between the 6 characters you take control as. It seems to be more focus on the group taking down the threat of the army. I do have to say it isn't as much as "saving the whole wide world" this time around. Thinking about it I might get some more good hours into it tomorrow. I do finish at 1pm, so I have lots of time tomorrow.
Babooo Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I think this might be my first ever Final Fantasy game.....Will I have to have played the previous games to fully understand this or what?
Hellfire Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Since I haven't finished the game yet I can't really say on the length. I am 37 hours into it (Blame the Wii for sidetracking me, I'll get back to it very soon though). Same with me, was 50 hours in, but Wii got in the way. Who cares, I just play what I want to.
Hero-of-Time Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I think this might be my first ever Final Fantasy game.....Will I have to have played the previous games to fully understand this or what? Nope as all of them have a different story.
Calza Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I can't wait for this, I just realised it was coming out so soon! For people who have played it, can you compare it to a previous FF?
Hero-of-Time Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I cancelled my preorder for this the other week as I just cant bring mysel to play any RPGs at the moment. I have Shining Force Neo, Tales of Legendia, Tales of Abyss, Rogue Galaxy and Chrono Trigger to play but none of them interest me at the moment. Shame aswell as I was really looking forward to this.
BeerMonkey Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 the "pre-order" FF12 boxes on are the shelve in my local game must be close for you peeps gettin it. does look very good thou shame i havent got a PS2 (never thought id say that)
Hellfire Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 I can't make myself play this game again, even though I was loving it, playing PS2 seems obsolete with my Wii standing there.
Domstercool Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Don't see why. I'm perfectly fine mixing my Wii up with some Rogue Galaxy.
Hellfire Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Don't see why. I'm perfectly fine mixing my Wii up with some Rogue Galaxy. I don't know, maybe it's because I reached a hard part and I don't feel like training. I mean, I love the game, but I can't make myself to play it. I've had it since the USA release and must be close to the finish, but right now... meh. Maybe I'll give it a try later and I'll get back into the spirit.
The Bard Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Yaay. It's out this friday. And cretins are gonna be buying Excite Truck over this...honestly... Chrono Trigger to play but none of them interest me at the moment. Bad mistake! :P Yeah, you know I'm coming for you... Oh, and Hellfire, if you can't bring yourself to play PS2, then how could you ever bring yourself to play other "obsolete" games, such as those on the Virtual Console?
Hellfire Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Oh, and Hellfire, if you can't bring yourself to play PS2, then how could you ever bring yourself to play other "obsolete" games, such as those on the Virtual Console? [/color] It's not the PS2 itself, it's just that I don't feel like playing the game in the part where I am. It seems my patience is kind of wearing thin for training and stuff like that and where I'm at it's hard, so I think I need some training. I'm just in the mood for lighter games. I've been happily playing GH2 for example.
KKOB Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 :bouncy: :bouncy: Just gotta wait till friday!!! :bouncy: :bouncy:
